| Medical Astrology Astrological diagnoses and other health issues are discussed here. Given that there are so many outer and inner influences on one's health (alimentation, sports, medication, past medical antecedents, state of mind, etc.), an astrological diagnosis is only one of many things to consider when determining your healthiness. |

Surgery during Mercury Retrograde
Hello all...
I'm new to this forum, so it's a pleasure to be on here and to express my situation with all of you! I appreciate you for reading!
I told my cousin, who is an astrologer in training, that I will be having a breast augmentation on August 6th. She told me NOT to have this done because this is during MR! I had no idea what this even was until an hour ago, so now I'm freaked out!!!!! And I dont think I can change my surgery date!
I am very concerned that something will go wrong since this is during MR, so I was hoping if someone (ANYone!) will be able to help me in letting me know that if it is at all possible the surgery will go well...maybe the moon will be amazing that day...helping my surgery go well???
MR ends August 8th.
I was born Aug 20th 1987 @ 8:16pm
and I will be having the surgery in Houston, TX at 8am.
I dont know if that information will help with my situation.
I appreciate your time.
Thank you!

Re: Surgery during Mercury Retrograde
I didn't look at your natal chart, so there may be some aspects to consider, but here's my thoughts on it.
First, most Mercury RX problems are minor, like mail that goes astray and so on, rather than big problems like a surgical foul-up.
My theory on events that happen under Mercury RX (though others may disagree) is that, if you thought about it well beforehand, then the event is "coming back to you", as it were, under the retrograde. I'll assume you've done some thinking about this surgery, possibly for quite some time. If that's the case, the surgery may well be just fine.
Also, people seem to intuitively decide to do things at a time that's good for them, even people who know zip about astrology. So trust your instincts here.

Re: Surgery during Mercury Retrograde
Hello,
Taking my cue from Judy AzVirgo, I tend to agree on the Mer rx bit. The pre requisite is that the surgery details should have already been discussed thoroughly with the doctor in question before Mer turned rx. Mer rx could then be given more attention if Mer rules the 8th house (if Virgo or Gem are on the cusp), sometimes the first. Since we are talking about breast augmentation, if Mer rules the Moon, and is rx, then heed should be given to Mer rx.
For the surgery itself, i.e. the day of surgery, the two main considerations would be that Mars (rules surgeries, incisions, blood, infections, etc) should NOT be rx, and the Moon should not be void of course. Read also the thread on the link put in Caro post.
