Hi,
forgive my ignorance but what exactly is PTSD?
Virgos tend to worry alot, however, to be anxious about every little detail in their lives.
Moon is in my opinion is one of the most sensitive parts in our charts.
I truly believe we are lunar kids.
So if moon is afflicted-forms hard aspects especially to outer planets- yes it really can influence the mood of a person.
Moon in hard aspect to both saturn and pluto is not something light to have in your chart, but what is the condition of your mercury, of your 12th house, of your 6 th house. I don't see why the 5th house has a say here.
Fear is synonymous to Saturn
Deep anxiety and morose thoughts, depth psychology I believe can be attributed to Pluto. See Freud and the discovery of Pluto etc.
Moon is really sensitive. But the houses, the other aspects it forms, the transits and the progressions do count also, I mean if Pluto transits natal moon some changes are due but one has to see the whole picture.

Re: Panic attacks and PTSD
Panic attacks can be triggered with neptune making a hard aspect to one or more personal planets or luminaries. I would say the Moon or Venus or Ascendant being transited by Neptune can trigger panic attacks.
Natal Aspects like Mars Square Moon can disipate our resources over time if it causes us to live on an emotional edge.
Then Neptune comes along and erodes bit by bit.
Neptune sweeping across a stellium by hard aspect will erode our defences and a biggie transit like Pluto to a luminary in the middle of Neptune crossing the stellium can trigger a panic attack
What to do. Get your self fast off to a some counselling sessions. They dont have to be intensive. But they will help arm you with resources to change what has made you vunerable. Counseling sessions also being quite Neptunian but rebuilding rather than tearing down the ego
Also try Skullcap tea and sea a naturopath for support. I dont know what rules scullcap but if its Neptune I am not surprised.
Finally fight it with self talk - Ie talking to that scared lil part - also a good Neptunian exercise.
Good luck.

Vichy,
I agree with what Jupiter has said. Moon is a very important factor to be considered in this case.
Moon is the emotional well-being, the urge to feel secure, to care and be cared about in a safe environment, moods. Moon influences the person's everyday emotional well-being. Fear is especially expressed by Saturn and Pluto. Now Moon in a square to or opposed by either Saturn or Pluto (or worse still by both) could leave you feeling 'fearful' today and 'fearless' tomorrow (in case of a solar transit). In general, since Saturn and Pluto account for long-term effects, if the above-mentioned aspects are in the natal chart, the native's nature is bound to be one of 'worrying, caution, fear and lonesomeness'.

Jupiter,
I think that the 5th house and even the 11th house play an important role in general, even though involvement of other houses like the 8th and 12th might heighten the negative influence (fear).
5th house (=Leo) denotes self-expression and 'my' place in society, the latter being accentuated in H 11 (directly opposite the 5th). Now with an afflicted Moon your self-expression automatically suffers accordingly. If you don't feel good inside, it's difficult to beam from ear to ear.
I have, in my natal chart, my Moon in the 5th house (3/4 of which is in Cap, so Saturnian influence), and it is squared by Pluto (from 2) and opposed by Saturn (from 11). I think, I have managed to make peace with all the not so very nice aspects. The constant worrying aspect is heightened a bit by the placement of my (Aquarian) Sun and Merc in H6 (6=Virgo, and yes, Virgos love love to microscopically scrutinize every detail, and then criticize the imperfections)
So, I second what Jupiter has said out of personal experience.
Hope I could help.

THANK YOU aquarius7000
DON'T KNOW WHY I UNDERESTIMATED 5TH HOUSE INFLUENCE
I LEARNED STH MORE FROM YOUR WORDS, IF I MAY SAY, THAT WE TEND TO PAY MORE IMPORTANCE AND UNDERSTAND BETTER ASPECTS OR HOUSES OR SIGNS THAT WE OR OUR LOVED ONES HAVE.
TODAY I'M EXHAUSTED CAN'T EXPLAIN MORE- IS IT MERCURY ENTERING IN ITS SHADOW PERIOD? - BUT SINCE I'M MARRIED TO AN AQUARIUS FOR 17 YEARS I BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND MY POINT.
I REALLY GOT WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT THE 5TH-11TH HOUSES INFLUENCE.
I SHARE THE SAME TRANSITS FROM NEPTUNE IN AQUARIUS-CHIRON-NN-
BOTH TO MY SUN IN LEO AND MY ASC IN SCORPIO CONJUNCT NATAL NEPTUNE AND MY SATURN IN TAURUS. NO PANIC ATTACKS YET, FORTUNATELY ENOUGH.
GOOD LUCK

I'd look first at Uranus. Brings in the "unexpected" which would include panic attacks. Then I'd look at the 6th house (health.) Then Mercury and the 3rd (soundness of mind.)
One trick in looking at these things is to take your natal horoscope, and review the transits that took place during childhood. Especially the long transits of the outer planets can give a lot of clues about the early roots of adult PTSD and phobias.

Re: Panic attacks and PTSD
Yes, I would certainly have to agree with the aforementioned point about Uranus, but I would probably go a little but further with it.
If Uranus is in the 6th house or makes any tense (square, opposition, maybe quincux, semi-square, or even a tight conjunction) aspects to Mercury, this is going to put an emphasis on nervous thought-patterns and excess energy, not necessarily panicked thinkng, but definitely anxiety and tension associated with health.
In the case of PTSD, you are going to need to look for what the source of the post-traumatic stress was. In this case, I would look to your 8th house, especially looking for planets which have tense aspects, including again Mercury. An emphasis on Pluto/Scorpio is going to deal with buried events that may be plaguing your psyche.
But more importantly, I would need to know more information about your entire chart to really make an astute judgement. The location of Pallas Athena and Mars can make a huge difference as well.

Attention Blueheron
Congratulations. I have saturn in the sixth along with four or five others, and the planet is scorpio. I will check out the third house and let you know, but for a very long time, I suffered major anxiety attacks, panic attacks, agoraphobia, the lot, including clinical depression.

Re: Panic attacks and PTSD
Yes, Blueheron is right about looking at Ura and Mer in the chart and how/ if they aspect each other - something I should have also mentioned in my previous post, where I briefly touched on the 11th house (11 is ruled by Ura) and the 6th house (ruled by Mer). Of course, besides checking on houses 1,3,5,6; the sign these planets are placed in, esp Mercury (personal planet) would be of great consequence. Say if Mer is in a sign ruled by air/ fire, the nervous tension caused could really shake the person up completely, whereas Taurus would not be touched by this that easily.
After Mercury (of both Gemini & Virgo), Mars (Aries) would play an important role, as the energies are often in excess of the nervous and mental balance, and most trauma and ill health has its origin in such things as violent exertion and extreme mental nervousness. Again a watery/earthy Mars does not act in its full capacity as would a fiery Mars-
