Re: Which degree path should I go down?
In my opinion (as a mere student of astrology), the psychology/philosophy route -- especially psychology -- is a much better fit for your talents. Here's why:
Your stacked 8th House means a strong interest in psychology: It was the first thing that I noticed about your chart. Your Mercury, Pluto, and Venus -- which are all in Scorpio -- are in the 8th House (House of Reincarnation). Not to mention the fact that Pluto is the ruler of your 8th House cusp (Scorpio = Pluto), and Scorpio is the 8th House's natural ruler. With such a Scorpio / Pluto influence in this house, you're strongly attracted to Scorpionic 8th House matters such as discovering the unknown, psychology, metaphysics, etc.
Not to mention that Mercury in the 8th House means that your thoughts (Mercury) are interested in psychoanalyzing people. Pluto in the 8th House suggests a talent in changing or healing people's lives. Venus in the 8th House means that you love digging up what's hidden and unknown.
Your career cusp emphasizes psychology & philosophy: Your Midheaven (10th House cusp, which rules the career) is in Sagittarius. This placement is really big on philosophy. You will want to travel a lot for your career though. The ruler of your 10th House cusp (Sagittarius=Jupiter) is in the 7th House (House of Partnerships). This placement means that you'll be strongly attracted to working with others, and counseling them.
Sun & Mars located in the House of Philosophy: They're both in the 9th House, the house of philosophy, higher education, and travel. This suggests that your core being (Sun) and action (Mars) are related to these matters. Since both are in Sagittarius, freedom & travel will be important to you.
Other counseling indicators: The ruler of your 7th House cusp (Virgo=Mercury) is in the 8th House (House of Reincarnation), which means that you'll enjoy counseling people
The ruler of your 11th House cusp (Capricorn=Saturn) is in the 12th House (House of Self-Undoing), which means that you're strongly attracted to serving humanity in some manner. Perhaps affiliated with a large institution, as the 12th House rules institutions like hospitals, prisons, etc.
Two placements denote that you've got a humanitarian impulse. The ruler of your 1st House cusp (Pisces=Neptune) is in 11th house (House of Friendships, which also rules organizations and social causes). Your self-identity (which the 1st House rules) leans towards this arena. Also, the ruler of your 12th House cusp (Aquarius=Uranus) is also in 11th House, which reinforces your humanitarian impulse.
7 of your planets are in the Western Hemisphere (the right half of the chart, to the right of the MC-IC line). This strongly suggests that you think of others before yourself. That's a good placement for a counselor.
Other philosophy indicators: The ruler of your 9th House cusp (Sagittarius=Jupiter) is in the 7th House (House of Partnerships), which means that you'll enjoy teaching philosophy or religion to others
Your entertainment-oriented indicators: While your house rulerships don't point as strongly toward entertainment-related activities, you do have a few indicators in that area. Your Moon (which is the chart ruler, as your chart has what's called a bucket pattern) is in the 5th House (House of Pleasure, which includes entertainment). It's a singleton Moon as it's all by itself, with all your other planets above the horizon. Thus your emotions (which the Moon rules) will be central to your life. A Moon in the 5th House has an emotional need to express itself through a creative outlet.
The ruler of your 5th House cusp (Cancer=Moon) is located in the 5th House, which is a creative position.
The ruler of your 6th House cusp (Leo=Sun) is in 9th House, which is good placement for publishing, writing, and advertising (among other things). Graphic design would probably be in line with this placement.
What to keep in mind: Whatever career you choose, it will have to involve working with others in a major way, enable you to make a significant mark on the world (as indicated by the fact that all of your planets except the Moon are located above the AC-DC line) and allow you to travel. Those themes run throughout your house rulerships.
