Astrology and the Afterlife
Hello Everybody,
I guess the first thing I'd like to ask in this forum is something to which I have not found an answer to in any of the astrology books I've read. I' first thought about this question when reading a book on Vedic astrology, in which it talked about a part of a chart where we can get a glimpse of what our karma and past life experiences were. Then I pondered - it was only then that I noticed that I haven't seen, as far as I'm concerned, Western astrology tackle these questions. So, my question is - if astrology can help me get a glimpse of past karma, can in general, independent of what system you use (vedic, western, etc.), offer any view of what the afterlife will be like? What future paths the soul will tread in the journey of self-perfection? The only thing I know about this topic at present is for some reason, and I can't remember where I've read this, your birth chart is still somewhat valid after you pass away. Curiously, someone also told me that you reincarnate in a linear sequence - that is, if you are born an Aries in this life, next you'll be a Taurean, etc. Many thanks in advance.

Re: Astrology and the Afterlife
The trouble with the astrology of past lives, which western esoteric astrologers do study, is that there is no way to verify any of it. Also, some writers on this subject have an inaccurate view of history. It's amazing how many people were supposedly royalty in past lives (seldom plumbers) yet the demographics of past times just couldn't support so many kings and queens.
A quick-and-easy way of doing past lives in modern astrology is to look at your nodal axis. The south node of the moon supposedly shows where you've come from by sign and house. The north node supposedly shows what you've set out to accomplish in this life.

Some people are adamant that it IS possible to 'offer a view of the afterlife via astrological means' Davi_Alan , however others equally vehemently disagree!
So, IMO an excellent way forward to gain insight on this intriguing subject is to read/study all available literature/opinions on the subject AS WELL AS most importantly to do one's own research - otherwise its simply a matter of 'unquestioningly accepting' the 'beliefs' of others.
From my own observations it is clear that Vedic AND western astrology - including BOTH sidereal AND Tropical methods have their practitioners for whom EACH and any method apparently 'works' equally well

Clearly, death is no barrier to continued 'events' in the 'lives' of deceased celebrities! In fact an interesting exercise apparently consists of studying transits to the natal charts of deceased celebrities. Transits illustrating events after their deaths are clear – i.e. events such as a posthumous Scientific award - or a posthumous Theatrical award e.g. an Oscar - or the award of a posthumous medal or some other prestigious award. Posthumous earnings are indicated as apparently are births of grandchildren/great grandchildren and many other 'events'.

That's an interesting theory that makes some form of 'logical' sense - although fwiw because I'm no expert - IMO there is potentially rather 'more to it' than simply 're-incarnating from Aries to Taurus to Gemini and so on around the signs until one returns via Pisces to Aries' ... presumably 'ad infinitum' - of course that's just my two cents worth

Re: Astrology and the Afterlife
From my experiences, the realm of past lives and karma and such is very murky because many people may not even have lived on this planet or this isn't their primary reincarnation spot. So with that being said, many people alive, especially TODAY, have reasons other than karma for being here. However, the best way to determine your purpose (and yes even karma) is to look at themes in your life. And meditate upon them. For a lot of what we experience now is a continuation in some manner of some experience we had before. But our current out look of past lives is not necessarily accurate because, like I said, especially today many people are from different dimensions and planets to help bring in change. Most likely after the atomic bomb went off this occurred at higher speeds due to the destructive capacity increasing exponentially.

On the contrary, fwiw IMO as previously discussed on your thread “How To Get Away From Karma” viewable at this link http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum...t=53341&page=7 the concept of 'karma'/'karmas' aka 'action'/'actions' definitely explains the presence of all living beings on this planet – EVEN IF 'this is not their primary re-incarnation spot'

One would need to determine whether or not astrological techniques have the ability to categorically answer your question
Obviously, that's just my two cents worth and everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this intriguing subject
