Sun in the 12th House

I have very basic knowledge in astrology. After having children I've dabbled less, but still read up on their natal charts from time to time. We just had our little princess, and as I was reading on parts of her chart, I noticed she had her Sun in the 12th house. I immediately freaked, because from what I've read it means "death of the father". Again, I'm a novice in astrology, are there any other aspects indicating that her father, my husband wont die? I'm not sure how to post a link to her chart, so I'll just post her DOB info. Thank you in advance.

half knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge.
I would suggest u not to look chart of infants unless there is some problem occur in their life.

I would not take the sun in the 12th alone as an indication of imminent death of the father.

Technically, we all die at some point, and I'm sure her father is no exception.

My chart puts her sun in the 1st whole sign house anyway.

Someone once said, don't scare yourself with astrology. Don't worry yourself with it until you know what you're doing, inside and out. Then you can worry

That's only one indicator. A chart needs multiple indicators to take a theme seriously. What I see is that her Sun is in a Leo, a "good sign", for the Sun to be at, and it only has light aspects.

What I can tell you from personal findings is that 12th house placements aren't all bad like they're made out to be by astrological texts. Many iconic people who managed to become a symbol of a cause for their time and era carry some 12th house planets

Re: Sun in the 12th House

@ Moog,

So, her Sun is actually in the First House? I understand that we all die. I just want to be ready. Thanks.

Thank you, Southpaw. The rumors about astrology aspects are just as bad as the ones we hear about in high school. I appreciate you clearing that up for me. I detest being ignorant, and invite all the knowledge that I can receive.

I agree with the above, the sun in its own sign, leo, gives this house strength.

To quote Howard Sasportas

"Those with the sun in the 12th need to learn how to straddle the borders between personal and universal, conscious and and unconscious, individual ego(sun) and collective self (12th)
The personal self has to be flexible enough to allow entry to these elements and yet not so weak to be overwhelmed by them"

This can be a very rewarding and fruitful position, very creative and gives her the ability to plug into the needs of others and the masses
I think she will need at times solitude to help herself form boundries from others
She could well develop psychic and healing abilities
It may mean confusion around the father or a special unspoken link with the father?

Thank you, I cee. I can see that. He's crazy about her. He calls her his Princess, "Apple of His Eye". Would sharing his information clarify the aspect? I didn't think about doing it when I posted.

I'm glad you brought this up regarding the 12th. Being able to plug into the needs of the masses would perfectly explain why 12th house planets are so common for people who wield political power: Gandhi, Bill Clinton (an entire stellium), Martin Luther King, Barack Obama, George W Bush, Hitler, Putin (an entire stellium), etc.

Based off a bit on your daughter's chart, do you happen to control your husband?

Re: Sun in the 12th House

I do not mind at all, thanks, I cee!

Define control? It's not that I control our marriage, but more like he puts me in control. He hates taking the leadership role, I've tried countless times to have him make the decisions, but he wont. He tells our other children that I'm the boss. It isn't me taking the thrown, it's more him pushing me onto it.

Okay, I suspected something was going on where you're the parent in power based off your daughter's chart.

The Sun, which symbolizes the father, is in Cancer Boys house cusp, ruled by the Moon. The Moon, symbolizes a person's mother, is just outside of the 4th house cusp, the house that usually represents the father, so the Moon has some sort of control over 4th house matters.

Then the 4th ruler, Mars, is in Libra, a sign known for compromising and submission, and also makes a soft trine aspect to Venus, ruler of the 10th which is traditionally the house of the mother. I suppose being in Libra is why he hates being in the leadership role, and then the trine is why he quickly and easily put you into power.

I thought there would be some struggle sense the Sun and Moon are in Leo and Scorpio, but there isn't any in your case. Leo and Scorpio are pretty alpha signs, with Scorpio being the more raw, vicious, brutal, and ruthless one up close. I usually had to beat Leos into submission, and I mean this figuratively.

Hi, it might, I'm not sure?
The relationship between your daughter and her father will show in her chart, how she feels about him, you may look to your chart and your hubbies 5th house as what you both expect of your children.
The 4th and the 10th also signify the parents in a chart.
In mine I look to the 4th for my father and the 10th for the mother
Moon aspect show mother and sun aspects show father.
Hope this helps a little

Re: Sun in the 12th House

Wow, I'm baffled. That was a great interpretation. Beautiful! The only battle is me pushing him to be more assertive. I guess I should give up on that. It's not fun being in charge ALL the time. I need a break, too.

Wow, I cee. That's awesome info! Thanks. I hope I can figure it out.

I see he's a Fish boy with a Virgo ascendant. Those two signs usually aren't so take charge unless there's something offsetting it. Pisces is very chill. The least offensive sign imo

Disturbingly chill, and reserved. He's literally my "old man", even though he's only 31.

Re: Sun in the 12th House

So your hubbie is a Pisces, again shows the strong link and that, what I find fascinating and interesting, the continuing family line.
Pisces house is the 12th and so your daughters sun, 'the father' in that house echos his sun
No wonder shes the 'apple of his eye'

Wow, that is remarkable! Here I'm thinking it's a detriment, when it's actually something positive.
