Re: How accurate or useful is this theory?
There's another method of timing which is much less complicated. You can simply look and see when the two planets will complete their aspect in real-time or look and see when they'll make their next conjunction.
Typically you use the conjunction method for the faster moving planets.

Re: How accurate or useful is this theory?
I think that this table is correct.

Re: How accurate or useful is this theory?
Yes, that is traditional use of symbolic timing (as opposed to literal timing that Senshi described). You can find examples of symbolic timing as described in the table you posted in William Lilly's works.

Re: How accurate or useful is this theory?
As I see, maybe the method that Senshi said it is more accurate in questions of short term future. Like things that must happen in hours, days or weeks (at maximum). And the Method I gave should be more useful in "Ever" questions or long termed future like things that must happen in months or years.

Re: How accurate or useful is this theory?
1. It all depends which system is followed, in certain cases table II is also used, and degrees and mins are playing very important role.
2. Another method is more applicable, and ie. Trisfut dasha (Vishomttari dasha period is to be converted in 360 days, and then dasha will be calculated- results are very close).
3. Transit of planets will also guide you time of event.
4. Tajik yog based calculation for timing or finding its results.
I believe, all methods are good, depends on chart reader.

Re: How accurate or useful is this theory?
I prefer the timing methods I have used in many of my horary posts; also the Al-Biruni zodiacal time parameters table I have posted in the Horary Techniques forum.
However, the table given earlier in this thread is the one most commonly used in standard Western horary.

Yes, it is in the AW Horary Techniques forum, entitled "Zodiacal Time-Frame Parameters in Horary" (dated 5-17-12)
