Just looking for thoughts about this

My progressed new moon in Aquarius is exact in two days on the 3rd (the moon itself shall also be in Aquarius). The same day the sun is exactly conjunct my NN.

This is the kind of thing that most intrigues me in astrology and so I am merely looking for different thoughts about what else I could maybe look at transit wise to see if I can find a proper direction to move in as I am clearly facing a new day in a manner of speaking.

I've got an abundance of positive aspects at this time, but the overriding one that seems to be at play is Saturn conjunct Pluto in the 1st. I suppose I am really most curious about if this is the sort of theme that shall carry forward with me into this new phase. I've become a lot more blunt and lack of personal responsibility in myself and others has become a full on anathema to me. My money has dried up for the billionth time since Saturn and Pluto have been doing an on and off again dance.

In traditional astrology the first thing to look at in predictions is the time lord for the year. This is found by profections. Counting around your chart I find that the current year is Taurus and the 8th house. Your current time lord is Venus. However, Venus is weak in the 3rd natal house so as time lord it will not do much for you. Still look for transits and directions to Venus this year as it is your active planet.

There is also a time lord of the month. For your 2012 profection year count Taurus as January and count around by months. This will give Jupiter as the time lord for August. Since Jupiter is in the natal first house it is one of your power planets so expect good things in August and take the initiative. The natal angular planets are most powerful. Look for profected years and months when they are active to get the most from astrological prediction.

Culpeper, you've just opened a whole can of worms for me! I never thought to look at profections, mostly because they are entirely alien to me so thanks!

I finally have something new to sink my teeth into.

You mentioned that Venus was weak because of its location, but I was wondering if its mutual reception with Jupiter in the natal chart would help to strengthen it in this scenario. I would assume that it would be of benefit, though I couldn't guess at how much given that Jupiter is saddled with Saturn (albeit, an exalted by sign Saturn).

Right.. Venus is not a total loss: It is with the Moon, in mutual reception with Jupiter and it is in sect. Still, I have found that cadent planets are slow to act. An exact transit aspect in a Venus month may give some results.

The malefic nature of your Saturn is mitigated by being with Jupiter and in exaltation. Your Saturn months should be rather good also; although, Saturn always comes with a sting.

If you study profections, you will find several different ways to count time. That is just the way astrology is, but it is adaptable to different methods. But the best way to learn astrology is to do it your self and see how it works.

From what I have found, the first month is the entire first calendar month in which your birthday falls. Then just count calendar months. This works very well. However, there is the method that counts thirty day months beginning with your birthday itself. I have tried this too but found that calendar months actually worked better.

Days can also be profected. Start counting from the first day of the calendar month. Also I have found that for this purpose the day should begin at sunrise rather than midnight. Time before sunrise is counted as being in the previous day.

With Saturn transiting your 1st house, the theme is definitely about personality changes and modifications. A transformation is to be expected: Monetary situations will become the focus soon with Saturn approaching your 2nd house...

In terms of your social connections, that is expected to change as well with Uranus transiting the 7th: this can lead to separatist tendencies on the part of the individual...and conflicts in personal relations...as I learned in later life, when we begin to change ourselves, others tend to drift away...this has happened many times to me as well...the way I see it is that I simply outgrew them on a conscious level...and what I discovered is that I am perfectly happy without friends; I tend to prefer non-interference in my life. Also I see that the prog Moon is currently separating from the 4th node in your 5th house of 'creativity'...you will find yourself moving away from the negative implications of the south Node, and become more attuned to your destiny indicator of the North Node. You could experience an increased sense of there being 'something greater than yourself' during this time.
