Chart for Start of Career?

I recently got a new job!

Has anyone heard of casting a chart for when you are offered a job or for the first day of your job as a kind of natal chart for your career?

Seems to make perfect sense to me, seeing as the charts for countries are done when contracts are drawn up etc. in mundane astrology.

I'd be interested in doing this for myself, but has anyone else tried it?

I've wondered this myself. For example I want to be able to cast a chart for when I start at university in 2013.

I also want to know more about this kind of thing!

I'm assuming you should look at the 6th & 10th houses. 2nd... for salary related things and 7th and 11th for co-workers???

Re: Chart for Start of Career?

Congratulations on your new job!

Here's what was going on with my transits when I got my first job which I still have :-) (The job had been offered to me a day before I started it - the transits occured when I started it.)

Transiting Venus just entered my 2nd house.
Transiting Jupiter just entered my 2nd house.
Neptune was transiting my 2nd house too.
Transiting sun sextile my natal MC.
Venus trined my Sun
Transiting Mars sextiled my Sun
And that was also a period when trans. Jupiter was in trine with my natal Sun, and transiting Saturn was in trine with my Mercury.

I hope this was at least somehow helpful.

These kind of charts are known as "event charts", and are read rather similar to horary charts; the ancient Greco-Roman astrologers were very "big" on this type of thing, and it was anciently known as "katarchic" astrology...

Ah, event charts. I've never been big on horary charts myself so I'll have to look into how to interpret it.

Re: Chart for Start of Career?

Remember that event charts are interpreted SIMILAR to horary, but not exactly as horary; there are many considerations similar to natal, which are also applied to event chart delineation.

Re: Chart for Start of Career?

Ok thanks, should I use the moment I was offered the job and accepted it on the phone or the moment I walk into the office on my first day?

Ideally make a composite event chart:
1-moment of accepting the job
2-moment when actualizing the job (eg, walking into the office the first day)
Delineate the composite of the 2 chart

OTHERWISE:
..if you don't want to set up a compoiste, then use the time of actualization (the time the thing becomes "real", the time of actual real-time manifestation/activation)
