The levels of mind
There are three types of mind.
The programmed mind, based solely on genetics and innate behaviors. Insects for example
are highly programmed based. Animals are also more highly programmed as opposed to humans. Programmed minds have very
little concern for ethics or emotions, it is based on physical senses and reactionary type behaviors. It does not think
much beyond physical survival for it knows nothing else. It is not thankful and is incapable of understanding complexity.
The second mind is the ego or emotional mind. This is a much more complex mind than just a programmed mind though the transition is relatively uneventful for they both share similar elements. It is a
learned mind and is a total sum of the experiences someone has, what one views, what one is taught, culture as well as
instinctual needs for self gratification in an emotional sense and physical sense. It recognizes pleasure and pain
and so avoids things that are fearful, painful, etc. and moves towards things that are pleasurable, good, etc.
The second mind, or ego is the main mind that humans have and animals have slightly. It convinces the person that it
IS the person and is usually extremely powerful and very difficult to move away from. Think of it as the person walking
within the maze and only sees things from a flat surface. It is the mind that builds up the culture that we know of today.
It wants, it craves, based on gratification of the senses and mind. It only sees short to medium term and
always lives in the past or future because that is what the ego is made up of and is always comparing, contrasting and analyzing what is around it to base how it should act. The ego is also NEVER fully satisfied but brings temporary moments of bliss and pain.
The third mind is the higher mind. This is a mind closest to the spirit and doesn't respond to 'desire' but more so for
experience. It is a peaceful, unthinking mind and is very still because it doesn't need to 'think' as it views everything
as is. It doesn't need to think, analyze, dream, desire, compare as it is just experiencing the now. It sees life for what it is because it is almost like a helicopter floating above
the maze while the ego is walking in the maze. It sees the maze for what it is and doesn't fret if it gets to a wall while
the ego will get very irate and upset because it cannot see what lies behind it. Transitioning from ego to higher mind
is an extremely difficult step as they are so different from each other. While the ego is never fully satisfied, the higher mind is always satisfied, but not
unstable where there are levels of extreme euphoria like the ego brings only to bring a crash later on. The higher mind is 'content'.
The Spirit is not 'accessed' by any mind. Even though the higher mind is closest to the spirit and nurtures
the spirit the most out of any mind set it is not the spirit.
Transitioning from higher mind to spirit is very easy.

Interesting post. By "The Spirit" could you mean the Higher Self?

Re: The levels of mind
I think he means infinite love. The one truth. All possibility. Everything and nothing. Beyond the deception of duality and karma. The oneness that encompasses everything NOW! It's always new being created all the time. Everything is connected and deserves respect. The true divine spark of forever is love. All you have to do is receive it and surround yourself with it and you reflect it back out. Embody and transform yourself into something better. It's always there waiting for you to open your mind to it. The loving creator is love and it will always be there. Love can wait. From what I hear love is pretty patient. I heard love can wait forever and still get you now! Love has definitely got time.

Yes this is more what I mean by 'spirit'...the higher mind, in my opinion is accessed through meditation and what not. The spirit is not. You realize the spirit, but you are never the spirit on a material plane...

Re: The levels of mind
IMO the only kinds of programming we have are the ones which smack you in the face, the ones you cant deny, like because of the sun, things happen, its not "programming" but has order. Its like the stars in the sky, we all see the stars in the sky if we want to, and we all can understand what spring can bring, but as shakespeare said "men turn their backs to the sunset colors, not woman, female energy. We have "trees to eat from" everyday, any tree, "running brooks for books n trees with tongues" its real wisdom. The inner understanding, and thats it, so its all inner, you can only help one see that it is a inner understanding, maybe not YOUR inner, but inner of what is relative. thats why beauty is in the beholder,
so we are programmed to all return to the same place, at peace, we all can look at the stars, and ever deeply awaken to new levels or breakthroughs, it is repair, we need to restore the peace, it is dis-ease,to make it simple, not happy! haha
so when you think about the things that are NOT programming for us, what is that
