"Thunder Moon"

Hi all. I had a rare opportunity to talk to my clairvoyant friend and spiritual confidante, Clarisse a few minutes ago about some interesting developments I have come across regarding the math and numbers generated by certain astronomical mechanics, which she told me was in need of "incubation" before i talk about it publicly and when I consulted the Sabians about this matter before calling her I got the 12th of Virgo...and Clarisse, not knowing this, said everything in accordance to what i saw.
So that will be coming along in some time ..not long...but after a period.

So, I do apologize for the digression on my part, but I am rather still en-rapt by the math in the aforementioned and a bit giddy with it...on to the gist of this....

She informed me that this Full Moon is known by three different names [as I recall, and i am sorry about not writing all this down as my head was still wrapped up in the math and I only just memorized one name as it was so key to something of immediate importance and that I figured the other two will come up in an internet search.]
This is what is called a "Thunder Moon" and lightning strikes will increase dramatically annd to be particularly aware if you are in the mountainous regions ...and she did in ref. to our [she's in Calif. too] Western United States region, but I would easily surmise this to be world wide....the Rockies and other mountain regions of the States please be cautious and also see what any of you can find regarding the other two names for this Moon as they all have significant symbolism in the names and reasons behind the names.

Re: "Thunder Moon"

I just wrote Lynda Hill about this and was reminded of her recent newsletter regarding the Full Moon: [From Lynda Hill, renowned Sabian Symbol authority]

"The Sabian Symbol for the full Moon is Capricorn 13: A Fire Worshipper Meditates On the Ultimate Realities Of Existence. From my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom -"

...wow...

[ps. upon review today, I discovered an omission on my part. The author of the book is Lynda Hill, I only had intended it to mean that it's my copy of Her book which She graciously sent me as a gift a few months ago. I apologize for any confusion that may have occurred due to my oversight. ptv]

Re: "Thunder Moon"

I apologize. I've had so many astro-projects going on today i never got around to searching the net for more about the 'Thunder Moon' or the other two names.
as it is quite late here and i didn't get enough sleep the last couple of nights..so, it'll have to wait...hopefully someone at this forum is intrigued by this and will do 'the leg work' before i arise again.
Good night...and thanxs. ptv

Re: "Thunder Moon"

The other name for this Moon is the "Buck Moon" as in the 'antlers grow out and manifest'
...interesting precept applied to a Goat Moon like Capricorn!

Wow, that's interesting. So it seems there are indeed at least three names for that particular Full Moon.
I never got around to looking up the other two names and finding out why that Moon is or might be called by either of those. Having just now reviewed what I wrote here in a thread that I had forgotten about I see that I mentioned a third name and that I never did get back to this thread to post anymore about it. [ I never did find out that third name...]
Thank you siren1111, good looking out!

.
Here's what I discovered legging it around the net

98 word quote from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/48063139.../#.UBnZWaBa7Aw

"July's full moon has many names, but is often known as the Buck Moon because it occurs at a time of year when new antlers began to emerge from the foreheads of buck deer.

Another common name is the Thunder Moon since thunderstorms can be common this time of year (just ask the thousands of East Coast residents still without power this week after recent storms).

Other names for the July full moon include the Hay Moon and Mead Moon.

In Hindi, this month's big moon is known as Guru Purnima while to Buddhists it is called Esala

Re: "Thunder Moon"

Here in the South Western United States there is a tradition that is about to occur that is also a 'Festival of Lights'. This is celebrated by the use of luminarias or farolitos, introduced by the native American Catholics of Old Colonial Mexico in the early 16th century. It is an event much anticipated in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.
