Death & Pluto In The 9th House
According to Astrologyonline.eu, here's my Pluto in the 9th house reading: "This represents a good position for deep explorations in the physical and spiritual senses. Dark ideas. Great elevation or depth of thought following contacts with foreign cultures. Death during a journey."
Anyone else get a reading of how their life will likely end in their astrological reading? Perhaps I should never travel! Oops, much too late for that. Other natal aspects claim that I'll be in good health and live to old age (but be fragile in old age), so I guess that I don't have to worry about this happening anytime soon....

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
Zuri, this is one of the worst examples of cookbook astrology I have ever read. Roughly 1/12 of the world's population is born with Pluto in the 9th house; and many more have successfully witnessed transiting Pluto in their 9th house. The average life expectancy in the US for men now, for example, is over 70 years for men, and 80 years for women. You would think that the life and travel insurance businesses would have noticed by now if their customers were routinely popping off according to simple astrological placements.

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
There are NO outright "death indicative" planets!! Or stars!! Yes, planets and stars in certain situations can be potential indicators of accidents, diseases, death, but no planet is a generic "death planet"; investigation of these potentials can be made using a variety of Lots, studying planets connected with them, the placement of the Lots, also certain planetary triplicity rulers, also divisions of signs, and so on; but this in itself is an advanced technique-just realize that NO planet always-or even generally-means death, generically!!

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
More likely "epiphany" during a journey. Which is exactly what is supposed to happen with long journeys.
Also the word "long journey" is totally subjective. I think "away from one's ordinary life" is a better definition. So it can be 150 miles from your home or 1000 miles from your home.
For instance, if I go to the mountains in my state (ny) Iwill experience more of a difference in environment than if I visited my daughter near San Francisco. Because the suburban climate and culture is very near my own where my daughter lives.
But in the mountains, it's like another world.

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
Pluto in 9th could also literally translate to traveling because of death and all that goes with death- money, inheritance, debt, etc.
One of my friends has Pluto conjunct Saturn in 9th house. He's going through his first Saturn's return and his mother recently died suddenly. He had to immediately fly back... many states away to bury her and settle her finances. It turned out she didn't leave anything for him but he had to pay off her debts (probably the Saturn responsibility tied to death).

LOL I don't really think it's as equal and square as to say 1/12. Maybe there's no way to tell for sure because everyone's chart is different and the same chart doesn't show up again until thousands of years later!

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
The 9th house is also associated with study, education, teaching, religion.... Fellow 9th house Pluto here, well 10th cusp. Its also teaching as well as travelling. If you explore any one of those, you may find life changing experiences, ephinanys as Lin explains. And the 'death' more often is transformation and empowerment. The Hero's Journey explains the inner death that comes during transformations, more often than not involved with Pluto transits. At least, as far as I've learned.

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
Pluto's energy is one of transformation. It has an "old into new" quality to it. Its less favourable attributes don't relate to death, IMO, but to raw power struggles. Plutonian people often have a "dominate or be dominated" view of life. At its best, Pluto asks us ongoingly to reinvent ourselves. 9th house matters such as overseas travel, higher education, philosophy, and religion are ways to that goal.

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
I got a "death by drowning" one once xD its funny because i've almost drowned before. I don't think you should take it too seriously or literally, otherwise you'll end up paranoid. If pluto indicated how i was gonna die in my chart, then i'd be killed by family such love lol

Re: Death & Pluto In The 9th House
Zuri,
It's funny that I never thought of Pluto in the 9th that way, yet I have it and I do NOT fly! Maybe subliminally Pluto has told me to stay within the milage I can travel in a short time and on the ground...LOL
Again, the 9th is really about raising one's consciousness and expanding one's mind.
PLUTO means that you will have many "a-ha!" moments in your life....or should, anyway.
"The Hero's Journey..."....Jospeh Campbell....what a magnificent mind!

LOL in that case, all those who have Pluto
in the 1st are natural born killers
in the 2nd die from overeating
in the 3rd die from talking too much smack
in the 4th die from their family fighting over their father's will
in the 5th die from their kids wanting too much
in the 6th die from being a workaholic
in the 7th die from being sued too much
in the 8th die from having too much sex
in the 9th die from traveling
in the 10th die from being a social climber
in the 11th die from their friends (eh tu, brute?)
in the 12th die from hospital malpractice
