Should I take a summer class?
Hi everyone,
I can't decide whether or not I should take a summer class that is offered at my university next month. It will make my life easier next school year if I do because I have a heavy courseload coming up--but at the same time, I won't get much of a summer vacation and there's no guaranteeing that I'll do well over the summer because it's a faster class. I will also have to pay more money to take the class and to change my flight schedule.
I drew up a horary chart for the question, "Should I take a summer course?"
Both my significators (Neptune and Saturn) are in retrograde, which looks like a bad sign. The ruler of the 9th house of education, Libra, is also retrograde.
Venus squares Neptune while Mercury squares Saturn. Jupiter is also in detriment, which looks worrying.
I think based on this chart, I should opt out of taking the summer class. What do you think? I would really appreciate any suggestions or feedback

Re: Should I take a summer class?
(Following is not in accordance with standard horary practice and uses whole sign house format)
-querent = 1st house = Capricorn = Saturn
-9th house = the class = Virgo = Mercury
-9th house under Virgo, according to the Magic 8 Ball divination, = Mercury = a yes answer (according to the 8 Ball)
-querent (Saturn) is in exaltation in Libra (+) and retrogrades back toward the 9th house and toward Marcury = + testimony
-9th house lord Mercury flows toward querent's Saturn = + testimony
-Moon flows toward Saturn (+) but away from Mercury (-) = net neutral testimony
Results:
Positive = +2 testimonies
Negative = 0
Net = +2 testimonies
...so the answer to this question, both by the 8 Ball and by Primary Ankara horary, is yes!! you should take the summer class.

Re: Should I take a summer class?
Thank you Dr. Farr, as usual, for your thorough analysis
I definitely wasn't expecting a wholehearted "yes", and I'm now re-evaluating the situation now in terms of pros and cons.
Do you think the +2 testimonies for taking the summer class automatically means not taking the summer class would equal -2 testimonies? Would it be valid for me to draw up a follow-up horary chart for "Should I go back home for the summer?" as it's partly been covered by the first horary?

Re: Should I take a summer class?
No, the answer (in horary) is specific ONLY to the specific question (and, by implication, to the ramifications of that question) Obviously if we get a "yes" answer for taking the class, by implication that is a "no" answer regarding NOT taking the class. However, a different question (like going back home for the summer) would be a seperate matter: since there is already a "yes" answer to the class question, the going back home for the summer question would best be put as being preferable or not, to taking the class (eg, would it be better for me to go back home for the summer than to take the summer class?, ...something to that effect)

Re: Should I take a summer class?
Dr. Farr,
Thank you so much for clarifying my question
I phrased the question as you suggested, "Would it be better to go back home than to take a summer class at school?" and drew up a new horary chart.
1st house, the querent, is symbolized by Neptune.
9th house is symbolized by Jupiter.
Neptune is dominant in Pisces but in retrograde. Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini.
I don't think this looks very good, but I'm not sure how it should be ascribed to each choice--going back home or taking the summer class.

Asc lord Saturn is in 9th and 9th lord is Venus is on the cusp of 5th. Moon translates light from Venus and pass it to Saturn.
You should take summer class.

Re: Should I take a summer class?
(Following is not in accordance with standard horary practice and uses whole sign house format)
-"back home" = the 4th whole sign house which = Gemini
-querent = 1st house = Pisces = Jupiter
-Jupiter in the 4th house is in its detriment = - testimony about going back home
-disruptive South Node is in Gemini, the 4th house = - testimony about going back home
-querent co-significator Moon flows away from Mercury (lord of the 4th house) = - testimony
For me, finding the querent significator Jupiter in detriment in the 4th house PLUS the SN there, would have been sufficient as a "no" answer to this question; but all testimonies are -, so the answer to this question, when compared with the very + answer to the taking a summer class question, leaves no doubt that it would be better for the querent to take a summer class INSTEAD of going back home for the summer...
