I signed up to learn Astrology, and I want to start my study by understanding my own Natal Chart.

Maybe my Natal Chart is uninteresting or not interesting enough, but, might you, please help me understand it? I’d be really, really grateful.

an introduction:
To the dedicated astrologer, no chart is uninteresting...there is much to be discussed regarding the implications encoded in your chart...hard to know where to start though...
First let's start with your personality index, as denoted by the Ascendant [first house]...this represents the way you present yourself in public, as 'a brilliant disguise' which can often be quite different from who we are at heart. We create this mask in order to adapt to the world that may not be so forgiving of our weaknesses and insecurities.


The Sun and Moon in combination represents our 'true essence' based on our past conditioning and the domestic imprint we received from our parents in early childhood. You have the combination of Sun in Pisces and moon in Aries: it can be difficult to balance these inner yin/yang energies, due to their differing energy vibrations: The Sun in Pisces is a highly receptive and sensitive water sign, oriented to dealing with emotions; this archetype is about developing compassion and empathy towards others and is often fuelled subconsciously with a strong urging to follow a more spiritual path in life that allows you to feel a close emotional connection with others. You have the power to be a champion of the underdog and activist for humanitarian problems. We then look to the aspects of the Sun, for further definition about how the energy works through the individual, either positively or negatively. We see that Venus is joined with the Sun, and both in good standing, so that is apt to make you appear positive, sincere, compassionate and understanding in social circles. Taking it a step further then, we look to see how well that archetype will be expressed through the Ascendant. In this case, the energies are somewhat incompatible, with the Sun in the water element and the Rising Sign in Air. As mentioned, water signs are all about emotions and connectiveness with others; air is also quite social in nature but from a more mental perspective.
As such then we see that the personality that you project externally is indeed quite different from the Asc and thus there must be some kind of internal balancing. Gemini rising is about being communicative and sharing information with others; you tend to feel most comfortable in forming mental connections with others to begin with. Gemini is typically skilled in communications and can be witty, entertaining and interesting with the tales you can tell, although with afflictions, you might tend to go overboard in doing all the talking while expecting others to just listen. This can also make you quite superficial at times, and flirtatious socially.


Think of the personality as putting together a cake...you start with basic ingredients and then blend in others in sequence...thus we have the combination of a pisces archetype who expresses and shares with others through open communication. Now we must add in the complement of the Moon, which is very often more pronounced in the personality than the Sun.
for you: Moon in Aries: now we add the leavening to the cake: Moon in Aries is quite direct and straightforward in expression and has the inner need to be in control and to be in a leadership position. This is a fire sign, more involved in self-expression than sharing the limelight with others. This is the sign of the Warrior, and there can often be combativeness and contention if you try to push others around or exert control over them.

You're very welcome. Most of the planets above the skyline on the chart, means rather open and extrovert nature and is more focused on public life or outer world. The group of planets on the west side focus attention on sociability and an ability to cooperate. Many planets close to each other (0° = conjunction) gives pioneering and intuition. There is talent to reach a lot by few means. 7th house dominant makes one social, open, and diplomatic. 9th house dominant gives desire for adventures, broadening knowledge, makes one generous, and idealistic. Activities related to traveling, philosophy, religions…etc. Development of one’s personality and abstract thinking. Birth during the new moon strengthens impulsiveness, spontaneity, and instinctive responses. There is a tendency to project self into others and into the world as a whole (everything is perceived through self, symbolically). Strong connection to the past is present.
