Hi. I'm new here. I'm afraid I haven't posted anything or read much of this place, but I think I'm going to make an introductory thread. I'm not an astrologer, and I think my mother probably would hemorrhage in the brain if I ever told her I were going to major in astrology, or at least think I was being too gratuitous about this pre-law options thing, but anyway, if you really want to know I'm less than a novice and I'm truly inferior when it comes to this whole beautiful thing. Which is mostly my problem. I like astrology because I'm disillusioned and it looks this is one unfortunate case where unconventional truth has come in through this window. Everyone keeps using that word, but I get the strange feeling more and more often that it's either simultaneous or it just doesn't exist. But anyway, I really want to be here because I'm just so tired of all the ones--not even bad or mean ones, I'm afraid--who cite every in depth limitation of modern science in some, I don't know, attempt to appease meaningless itself or something I don't understand. Why does everyone want to be a tearer-downer? Maybe it's just me. But I'm just looking for some actual beauty, or poetry, or anything that appeals to me nowadays, and I've been truly inspired by the peculiar and wonderful words a brilliant person gave me in the way of astrology in breaking down my psyche. So anyway, now I'm hopeless and into this kind of thing. If you want to know the truth, I'm indiscreet, always trying to get anyone's chart I can lay my hands on and putting away in my secret drawer all the aspects I have on my closest circles. I just love to look for connections, especially the hereditary connection everyone thinks exists. So, anyway, I'm a Scorpio with both my moon and my ascendant in Gemini, and my midheaven is in Aquarius, and, for me, Saturn is in retrograde, which in my case was Pisces. I couldn't really understand people as a whole, so I sort of just divided the whole matter. Anyway, please tell me if there's anything you want to know I can tell you, or if you have anything to say, because I would love to hear from anyone! Bye!

Im new here too and i think the reason i gravitated towards astrology (astro-logic) is because my spirit is yearning to find meaning on the dense physical plane and im pretty sure this is why people are studying the Hermetic arts in increasing numbers.
Dont beat yourself up because you have chosen Astrology, it only needs to be pointed out that Astronomy (Astro-naming) is as meaningless as stamp collecting or train spotting without its right brained counterpart Astrology.

That's precisely a good point you have! I mean, it's not as if it's my life work or anything, or even a talent, or even a very fair hobby I could list, but all these people who wake up to declare pseudosciences and logical fallacies could just as well find something of tangible fulfillment to do! I'm not saying it looks like an Ivy League STEM degree on paper, but it makes me feel like I'm, I don't know, happy, or a part of something, more than being exceptional could do for anyone. I'm glad we share that. I really am. Because it means a lot to me, and nothing really means much to me anymore, but not in a sad or passing way, either.
Anyway, I know what you mean. Ever felt like, well this is hard to describe but, have you ever felt like the star's peculiar influence makes you want to be alive and live how you are right at this moment? Well, it does me some of the time, and I hope it's working just as well for you. I only wonder if consciousness on the other side is the same way? Christ, it's so aggravating!

I'm glad you are looking fo something beautiful and meaningful like art or poetry. Because to truly understand Astrology one needs to understand the beauty of Mythology.
