June 17 2012 Greek Elections

The sunrise map (in whole sign) for Athens for Sunday, June 17 2012 places Gemini positing the South Node, in the ascendant: this to me is a strong indication for basically inconclusive results which will feed the chaotic situation in Greece and in the Eurozone in general (the effect of the South Node in the ascendant, adding to the mutability of the rising sign itself)
Further indications in the sunrsie chart** influence me to anticipate that the Socialists will have a very strong showing, possibly even overtaking the dominant party in the Greek parliament. The situation of whether to exit the Euro or not will continue to be unresolved and muddled with as a result of the election, although there will be a strong anti-conciliation attitude and a strong movement toward exiting as a result of the Socialist gains.

**10th house (dominant party) = Pisces = Jupiter; yes Jupiter rises in the first house but is in its detriment in Gemini and is close to conjunction with the degree of the SN and, quite significantly is posited in a pitted degree (blocked degree) of Gemini; 4th house = Virgo = Mercury = challengers (praticularly the Socialist challenger), significator Mercury: Mercury is in the ascending bow like Jupiter, and inferior by elevation to Jupiter, however is not afflicted by detriment as Jupiter is, and flows toward conjunction with the Lot of Fortune (although the Lot is in a pitted-blocked-degree of Cancer), and of course, Mercury disposits Jupiter: strong for gains by the challenging Socialists and anti-reconciliation party, yet I think also strongly indicative of a chaotic situation with no clear-cut near term resolution of the issues involved.

Re: June 17 2012 Greek Elections

May I ask why you used sunrise(time) for this chart? is that the time the polls opened to the public? they opened 7am Greek time(4am GMT).

I think it is becoming more and more likely that Greece will leave the Euro. maybe next year.

Re: June 17 2012 Greek Elections

No, the polls opened later than sunrise: I follow the ancients in using sunrise charts for many events (political events and some others)

Results:
-the 2 largest Socialist parties won the majority of the popular vote
-no single party won a definite majority (which could govern without forming a coalition)
-a coalition government made up of the conservative New Democracy Party and the 2 Socialist parties, will need to be formed; there are indications that this will not be easy
-the anti-bailout (anti-reconciliation) Socialists garnered the 2nd largest number of votes, and the 2nd largest number of parliamentary seats; the pro-bailout Socialist party (which came in third place) will try to form an alliance with the conservative (and pro-bailout)New Democracy Party-expect difficulties here!!
-the pro-Euro parties (New Democracy conservatives + the pro-bailout Socialitst) have temporarily maintained control, however the anti-Euro Socialists gained (they came in 2nd) and will continue to push for Greece's exit from the Euro: thus a chaotic situation (as indicated by the SN in the ascendant of the sunrise chart) will likely smolder and eventually undermine the situation.

Re: June 17 2012 Greek Elections

dr. farr,

The first page of AW has given the country chart of Greece. The date has been taken in the chart as 13.01.1822 GC.

The moon sign is Libra and there are certain interesting placements of planet in the chart.

Analysis of Greece will be very important for coming one year. If possible, please also give your views considering the country chart.

Regards

Rajarshi
