Apple iPhone officially launched on June 29th

Apple just announced that the iPhone will finally be released on the 29th of June. This should cause a lot of speculation on this board because it has MERCURY RETROGRADE in it's Electional Chart. However, I don't see this as a bad sign at all - in fact I predict really big things for the iPhone. One (but not the only) reason for this is the Sun-Mercury conjunction, which makes for a fantastic personal device that circles around the individual who owns it. OK, maybe there will be some glitches with the first generations of the iPhone, but ultimately I predict that these early phones will actually become collectors items.

Specifically, in the case of the iPhone, it looks to me like this device will allow Apple to dominate the personal communciation field for at least 3 decades into the future. Interesting thread. I had a similar idea back when the third incarnation of the Playstation gaming consel was released in the US. I would like to know, however, what time and place you are using to cast this chart to examine. A noon chart on the Prime Meridian seems wasteful and I would like to be able to see the same chart you are commenting on before I share my comments.

Good luck to apple. They are releasing a combination communication (Mercury) and music (Venus) device with Mercury RX and Venus conjunct Saturn. That doesn't like the best plan to me. If they actually paid someone to elect this time, said person should be fired. Possibly the best thing in the chart is the VE/MA=PL, indicating passions will run high, although MA/JU=SA indicates the firey enthusiasm of Mars and Jupiter is being drug down by Saturn.

I smell the most overhyped product of 2007.

Be warned: AT&T's network DOES suck. I have used it for data purposes, it IS like a dialup modem. No, the phone cannot be "unlocked" -- AT&T uses a GSM network, pretty much all the other American carriers used CDMA. It would require a complete hardware redesign using a CDMA chipset to even think about using a better network; it's more than a carrier lock, it's the basic design of the phone. The upside for Apple: since GSM is the standard used in most the world outside america, they can release the same piece of junk to european and asian markets without having to redesign it for GSM. The downside for you: you're locked into an oversubscribed, substandard network with no way out, unless you want to ditch your iPhone.. Typical for Apple: concentrate on the look and feel rather than the technical aspects and real functionality. AT&T and Apple in bed together, anxious to rip you off. The high profit margin is already boosting their stock. lol.
