Re: Moon signs
Its a bhakoot dosha, but balance horoscope Bhav wise, then Dasha, that's more appropriate.

Re: Moon signs
Most people say Capricorn Moon is a cold fish because being ruled by Saturn. But I reckon myself is not quite cold but I do have critical mind and cold headed when I need to deal with complex issues. One very good thing about Capricorn is loyalty and in fact can also be super-sensitive after all Capricorn is half fish under the water not obvious to most people, most people only see the horns!
Underneath, when I interact with my the person that I love, my 7th house Pisces and Venus Libra still represent me better than the Moon alone. Even I have a Capricorn Moon but because of Jupiter in Sagittarius in 4th house, I can be very childish, delightful beyond the usual impression that I put into other people's mind (Virgo ascendant, Scorpio Sun conjunct Scorpio Saturn). Need to look at the whole chart!

I feel looking at the moon to determine the mind is misleading. I personally look at the 3rd house-intellectual mind, 4th house-emotional mind, 12th house-deep subconscious/past life/spiritual mind.
If the moon doesn't rule any of these houses, then the moon may have very little to do with the mind. However, the moon still represents an emotional part of the chart. So if the moon rules the 5th house, romance, fun, sex is approached more emotionally...

All the 5th house things...yea I only do those things when I feel like to (isn't everyone the same). But I do reckon Capricorn Moon is the Snowy looking Valcano! Can be very lusty! But then under the rulership of Saturn, is under the snow (self control). Capricorn is a very interesting sign, half Goat, Half Fish. The bottom half is the Fishy part, emotional and under water!
Yes I also look at 3rd, 4th and 12th for a better understanding of a person. Actually all water houses should be considered. 4th, 8th and 12th, emotional houses, no mind and logic can control them!

Re: Moon signs
While the Vedic tradition is very definite in ascribing the Moon as karaka (symbolic) of the mind, I follow the Western historical tradition and connect the Moon mostly with the emotional responses (and intuition), and, also, with the brain (and its chemistry)-this connection of the Moon to the BRAIN (as an organ), is very ancient in the West, and was an important consideration among the oldtime astro-medical practitioners.
These ancient practitioners connected the MIND, per se, with Mercury; the brain (and the emotional responses of the individual, and intuition) with the Moon; the memory aspect with Saturn, and the "reasoning" (rational they called it) aspect of the mind with Jupiter; the Will, and also the basic drives (instinctual drives) of life, with Mars (also the instinctual drives with Moon to a certain extent); love, hope, sympathy, empathy, the very special human qualities, aesthetic appreciation, concept of beauty, they connected with Venus; the higher Mind, the spirit, the vitality of the mind itself, they connected with the Sun. I myself have always followed these planetary affinities in astro-therapeutics, and have been quite satisfied with them, both in delineation and in finding remedies.
House-wise, I follow Charles Carter in making special consideration/study of the 1st and 3rd, along with the 6th and 8th (and quite often, the 12th) The 4th shows (me) the bloodline and "inheritance" of subtle energetic trends from the bloodline.

These are very interesting and effective ways to examine the native' mind from all possible angles. When mentioned about 4th house, I have 3 planets Uranus, Jupiter and Neputne. Jupiter rules the other two in his own sign, therefore he also ruling my 6th house Aquarius and 7th. By natural rulership, Jupiter also has power over 9th and 12th, Jupiter in 4th square and opposite all axises, but Jupiter conjunct Ketu and Uranus!
Neptune square both Mars & Venus from the 4th.
3rd house, Mercury in his own 3rd house mutual reception with the 1st house Mars, Mercury exalted in Virgo Mars. Mercury conjunct Sun, Sun ruling 12th house by Leo. Sun conjunct the ruler of 5th house, Saturn. Pluto in the 3rd house, by sign ruled by Mars or have similar relationship to mutual reception with the 3rd Mercury. Pluto ruled Scorpio but Mercury owned the 3rd house and share the 3rd with Mars by sign and sextile. Mars exalts in Capricorn in 5th again sextile Mercury, Mercury centre of the bundle pattern. Moon square Pluto but Pluto conjunct her ruler Saturn...
Pluto and Mars again both share the power of 8th, 8th house Aries, by sign ruled by Mars, by natural rulership ruled by Pluto. But final winner is Mercury.
Rulership.... Whenever I think about them, I feel dizzy! Enough for now...
