Chinese Astrology and Sex.

Something of a strange, rather forward question here, but one I'd be very interested in canvassing opinion...

To any specialists in Chinese Astrology:

Which Chinese astrological signs are the best at sex? I specifically mean this from a Taoist perspective; a philosophy which revolves around the idea that sex is a battle, particularly for the male, where he must ensure his partner orgasms at least once for each orgasm of his, lest he essentially make a loss in the exchange of 'chi' between the two lovers. This is especially true since man sacrifices a great deal of 'chi' in orgasm, and were he to always fail to 'satisfy' his partner he would not only lose her respect but also his own health, sanity, wellbeing, ability to act as any form of provider to any potential offspring, and effectively regress into the role of sperm-donor / overgrown baby as far as his contribution to the relationship was concerned... sexually, at least, and, over the longterm, in earning power, providership, etc. owing to the toll on his health.

I ask this because there is a definite heirarchy to the Chinese zodiac, and I wonder if this sexual capacity follows linearly throughout it?

My utmost appreciation and curiosity towards your responses...

Re: Chinese Astrology and Sex.

I was gonna say a Fire Snake or Fire Rat. Anything with predominance in Fire for that matter. Now that I think about, perhaps a Horse ( Fire mostly) since Horses are regarded as the "sexy" ones of the Zodiac.

Ha! Yes, I heard the 'Fire Horse' was a sign of great shame for a Chinese family to have a daughter under... I believe because it relates to a propensity for aggressive, promiscuous sex...

MaeMae... why the Metal Rat?

Re: Chinese Astrology and Sex.

I'm well-familiar with Chinese Sexual Astrology by Shelly Wu Estherth. Unfortunately, I'm a Pig, which is about the worst sign anyone can be in Chinese Astrology, as far as I can tell. Seems Rats have all the fun and it gets gradually worse as you move down the chain. I certainly know I'm the butt of most in-jokes amongst my friends and attribute it to my naive nature. Also, every time I hang out with my Rat friends I get into trouble. It's a major pain.

Anyway, it's a very good book to read, although it doesn't actually say which sign is the most sexual... beyond maybe the Snake? I guess Snakes are the most sexually-interested sign of the zodiac. Once again though, I'm opposite the Snake! :Very, very sad and exasperated face:

Chinese Astrology has not been kind to me, lol.

There's never a wrong to which sign (in the Chinese Zodiac) you are. I'm a Rooster and I never found any faults in it. Sure my sign indicates that sometimes I can be extremely intolerable or even at times downright blunt or insensitive (which at times can be true), but every sign has its pros and cons.

Boars are overall sensitive, generous, fun-loving, friendly, faithful, optimistic, honest and carefree. They are also rash, impulsive, tends towards gluttony, slothful, possessive and aggressive. I'm sure your sign is well, no need to feel bad about it.

I've always read that Rabbit people, especially the men have a very strong appetite, but not promiscuous.

Re: Chinese Astrology and Sex.

In Chinese (and western) astrology, we don't look at just one element of a chart

We look at how one character in your Bazi, interacts with the other 7 characters and then see what comes up. There is no one placement that "confirm, chop, guarantee" that you are a terrible lover or a great lover.

But why the interest in sex using chinese astrology? I'm better with western astrology, on this subject.

Re: Chinese Astrology and Sex.

It's true, there are other factors to consider in Chinese Astrology. The chinese call it the 4 pillars of destiny. Your birth year, month, day and hour signs. One also must consider the natural element attributed to these signs along with the element for that time/moment e.g. water boar or fire boar (water is the boars natural elements while fire/water/wood/earth/metal may be the corresponding elmenet for that year/month/day/hour).

E.g. I am a Water Rooster, born in the Month of the Wood Dog, in the day of the Wood Dog and in the hour of the Earth Dragon.

So we if we look at the elelments soley it will look like this: water-metal, wood-earth, wood-earth and earth-earth. The elements to the left are the corresponding elements for that given time, while the elements to the right are the natural elements for the given sign.

Chinese Astrology teaches us for the element(s) one is missing one can fill in the hole, so-to-speak, by adding things in one's life by adding that given element(s) attributes.

e.g. I am missing fire in my chart, so I must consider eating spicy foods, or spending more time in the sun. Those are physical things, but it as well applies to all forms of expression whether spiritual, mental, health, social, etc.

Then there is also the consideration of the Yin/Yang module. i.e. the odd numbered signs are Yang (Rat, Tiger, Dragon, Horse, Monkey and Dog) and the even numbered signs are Yin (Ox, Rabbit, Snake, Ram, Rooster and Boar).

There is also the consideration if one is missing a module in their personality. Say one consists of pure masculine or feminine signs, then one must attribute the opposites elements to their chart. Say one is pure Yin, then one must wear white to counter this and etc.

Of course chinese atsrology is more through than this, what with the elemenst and signs and how they communicate and harmonize or oppse eachother. The master-slave condition, the yin-yang condition, etc.

Re: Chinese Astrology and Sex.

I've heard of cases where one is told that one's chart is lacking in water and therefore one should take more showers. What happens if one's chart is lacking fire? Should you set yourself on fire? I find that hard to co-relate or accept and I've been practicing for a long time. I would suggest that if your chart is lacking in an element, then you want to find out what that element represents in your life and go about incorporating it. I cannot say for sure now, as each element's representation is dependant on your Day Master.

For e.g. if you have a Ren Day Master, then Fire would represent money. And if you are male, then it would also represent your wife. So if you are told that your chart needs fire, then make sure you have savings and get married. Fire on its own also represents grace, passion, finesse ... incorporate these things into your way of Being.

My thoughts only. No offense to anyone.

Blessings,
Esther

Esther,
It's interesting that you mention that we should incorporate elements that we're missing into our lives.
Just the other day, I met a Chinese girl who told me that when she was born, an astrologer told her mother that since her chart lacks water, she will need to travel over the ocean to find success. And true to her advice, she has done just that--she's studying abroad in the U.S. right now!

yeah, I've heard about that quite a bit. I haven't heard about someone taking more showers to supplement water though. Having water around etc. yes. Anyone curious about that, you'll find an interesting play-out of this stuff in the book of Memoirs of a Geisha. Of course that's from a Japanese perspective, but it's very curious! In the film they only make the slightest reference to it "you have too much water", "water is good to keep the fire at bay".

There are many such incorporations at word play there. Such as if one is missing to much wood or has no wood in their chart, then they must substitute for iy by living close to nature, gardening or some means of obtainig wood. Or paint your house with hues of green, or practice traits of a wood personality.

Then there's the case of too much of an element. Say too much wood. Then one is very ambitious, lucky, fixed and sentimental. It also has it's bad sides such as too much indulgence, tedancy towards laziness, tyrannical (almost like the Fire signs) and impulsive.

Re: Chinese Astrology and Sex.

Dear Esther,

Fire is hot, bright, and dry. So warm sunny places and summer season. Also bright lights found in TV and movies, computer screens. Radiant Sun and Stars. Cheerful optimistic temperament. Horse born in N. hemisphere or Rat born in S. hemisphere. BTW, Fire is my strongest element. My DayMaster is Ji (yin Earth) with Si (yin Fire) below.

I cant help notice you seem to have the same problem as me with others. But I in no way would ever degrade being a pig. I think pigs are awesome and there needs to be more out there. I would put higher on the pedestal because I respect their beautiful qualities. I too had most of my friends being rats, and u know what, I got rid of them. I think pigs are definitely incompatible with rats, but my husband is too and he's a goat. I wouldn't put them on a pedestal. They hide their insecurities very well.

To answer the question - I also happen to think pigs are very sexual, but I think all the signs are sexual in their way. U cant say one is more than the other. I don't believe that.
