Wolloping Mercury Retrograde period... is it safe now
This past MR has been a whollop on me.... the last day (Friday) was the worst. Emails flying from board members, everyone confused as to what their role in the organization is. I typed a memo to send to all members but I didn't send it, thought I had better wait until Mercury went forward, but is it safe with Mercury in direct station until May 11?

Personally, I feel the greatest danger is the period of shadow that follows the retrograde. During the retrograde, everybody seems to be aware that communication is going haywire, whereas after, everybody is lulled into a false sense of "everything's in the clear".

Re: Wolloping Mercury Retrograde period... is it safe now
Canaqua - I found this recent Merc retro period quite wollopping, too. Perhaps exacerbated by Retro Saturn transiting my 3rd house.
I have been in a full-on mode of a new job search, as well a start-up side business, and it really seemed as if every phone call, email, discussion and transaction went nowhere, at snail's pace. It was indeed a grueling three weeks - in dog years, it seemed.
As I'd suspected, as it has gone direct, things have begun moving a bit more cogently. Payments received for side-business, return e-mails from potential employers, customers, etc.
Things might not be full-steam ahead, yet, but at least they're moving again!

Saturn through my 3rd as well.... I guess there are many lessons here for the next few years! Oh well, Saturn gotta be somewhere! Just kicked the pants outta my finances... now all I do is talk about finances and how to get them back.

Lithuel - you might be on to something.
After writing that things are "moving forward." Today I got on a bus going in the wrong direction, which took me 7 or so blocks away from where I intended to go AND my cell phone took a **** - it rings and messages but doesn't show who's calling or texting.
Also, failed to mention, Mercury (Virgo) is ruler of my 3rd, where Saturn has set up camp...
Sometimes the machinations of Mercury Retro feels like a giant skipped period...

Am I the only one who didn't notice a single thing?

The only thing I noticed is a couple of Web sites I visit often shut down for maintenance during this Mercury Rx. Otherwise nothing major has happened, I even bought a new (and cheap) color printer that works.

In my case with the color printer, I did do a round of research on the technicals and prices prior to purchase, I even went to check it out in person at a local retailer instead of ordering online. I guess the key to avoid Mercury Rx mishaps is to be extra cautious when dealing with Mercury-ruled issues.

Re: Wolloping Mercury Retrograde period... is it safe now
Perhaps Merc retro in Aries, supported by a lot energy from other Aries' planets, was more noticeable for those with natal Merc or 3rd house influences. Mars is known for making himself known - usually with a crash bang boom. Stopping the flow of Aries momentum usually proves troublesome to most folks.
I agree with 26Degree that merc retro is a time to really pay attention to details. I know in my own experience, Merc retro is a great time for going back over the fine print - tech manuals, etc., because often in our rush to make things go forward, the hurrieder we go, the behinder we get.
I know that was the case, during this Merc shadow period, when I got on the wrong bus. It is a strange location, where 2 busses of the same number stop at the stop. The bus I got on stopped and I didn't read the overhead sign board on it, I just hopped on, thinking, "this is it." Had I paid attention to the fact that another bus with the same bus # at that location, but goes North, rather than South, I would have saved myself $1.25 and a 7 block walk to back to my starting point.
Edit: Failed to mention, that while all the Aries planets abound, Moon is VOC something like 60% of the time. "Nothing Comes of It."
We are all, between the shadow period and VOC moon activity, in a holding pattern.
Don't put your chicken where your lost eggs are at this point.
Unless you have Merc Retro and were born at VOC moon.
If that's the case - go for broke. Your thoughts and actions will yield gold.
