Determining vocational orientation.

It seems it's very easy to point to certain aspects in the chart and say someone has talents for this or that. But I find it to be very inaccurate, because jobs requiere from people certain mental, emotional and physical requirements.

We need to know the requirements of a given profession and determine if the person have the adecuate character, intellectual development, and physical ability to perform the job.

Any thoughts?.

Re: Determining vocational orientation.

Look for 10th house for carreer, planets there and ruler of 10th house and where it is. Some say you should look for 2nd house and ruler for how you earn your money. Mercury also you can look at I think.

Re: Determining vocational orientation.

Thanks. Well the ruler of the tenth house is mercury and it's on the first house. And the ruler of the second house is venus and it's on the twelfth house.

I guess that means my career will be very important for me, and that I may attain celebrity by it. Also, my career may have to do with astrology or occult knowledge.

Re: Determining vocational orientation.

Miguel, I take what you are saying, as I often think about that. That is, one can have a brilliant chart for being - say - a musician, but if this person has been brought up in a very low income situation and without any way out of it, and limited access to musical instruments, then perhaps what they are potentially good at may just be something they long for, or hope to be `discovered' doing.

Again, sometimes what a person loves doing is not possible because they have to earn money, and earn it now. My father was the only son of a farmer, and so his destiny as a farmer was determined by his birth. His passion was music, which he indulged in his spare time, and pursued it almost full time in retirement. He was not an especially good musician (I though he was c r a p at it!) but he loved it, and that's what counted.

Passion is everything. But sometimes passion doesn't pay the bills. This is what makes vocational astrology difficult IMO.

In your chart mercury stands out. Not only is it in its own sign (or one of them) but it rules your MC, and your MNN is also in the 10th in Gemini, so you probably aspire to using communication more and more as you age beyond 35. With Uranus ruling your 6th house of work and service, and Uranus being in the 3rd house of one to one communication and conjunct Jupiter, you may enjoy shocking others with your words and ideas.

The most prominent feature on your chart - as I read it anyway - is that apart from a conjunction to Pluto, your Saturn is unaspected. This means that you have huge powers of self-denial and self-discipline, but you may also sometimes feel very overwhelmed by the restrictions you place on yourself. Saturn rules your 5th house, so letting go and having fun may be difficult for you. Whatever you choose to do, you should allow for your need to push yourself to the limits, but also give yourself the freedom to step away for a while. Otherwise you may end up sabotaging what you create, just so that you no longer feel so confined.

Re: Determining vocational orientation.

Firstly, for a proper evaluation you need to post your chart, preferably with progressions and transits on same wheel found in extended chart selection. Reduce the ratio of orbs to 80%, select smallest image size 63% on picture, then choose house system (my personal preference is for Equal house rather than the default of placidus), right mouse click and select 'save target pic as' and save to hard drive then upload here

pref from astro.com as the cafeastrology one is really badly inadequate

Yes I agree with the above and also look at the 6th for general work to backup a career often. The Sun and its position is always very important as it is our basic character. I think that find the right thing to study has been a confusion for you and perhap whether to go abroad or actually where to live. I think domestic matters have caused some conflicts or with your family and their ideas. You would be good with detail and statistics and with the North Node in the 10th you are to attain some kind of a career and a position of authority this time around. Everyday communications and perhaps the printing and publishing media is one option. I can see you doing courses and moving around quite a bit and perhaps with sales and promotions. There is nothing really strong to lead you in one certain direction and you may have several different jobs.

Re: Determining vocational orientation.

Yes please dont bother with all the data, the visual chart is what is needed. It must have been very painstaking for you. I can see you being good with numbers and detail and not surprised that you put up the chart in this manner. Very orderly.

Re: Determining vocational orientation.

6th house can tell you something on how you relate to dutys, and your everyday life. No matter what kind of job you have, I think 6th house tells you something about how you do that job...

I belive that 10th house show what type of career we can prosper into, but that is by time and developement, considering house 4 and where we come from. Also in a psychological point of view.
Everything has to be working in your forth house, and inner self for you to come to your full potensial in 10th.

Sorry for my poor english, I feel a little blocked expresing my opinion, but I hope you guys get my drift.

Funny that I have N Node in Scorpio 10th and at age 53 am in no way on course for a position of authority or prominance!
To me N Node is your Soul's Life Lessons, this time around. It could be vocational, it could be creative, artistic, learning morals, principles, how to be nice to people, to learn humility, ethics, details, philosophy. To put yourself forward and push the way your present yourself Asc or vice versa - to come away from self and learn Libra 7th house balance. It could to learn how to integrate work life with family commitments, it could be to come away from work/career and build somthing solid for family and to be there for them.......

Focus on your pluto as it's also a singleton ie: only planet in air AND cardinal quality.

Your chart is very subjective and focused on self. Mercury rules your MC and is in 1st square to neptune quite closely, suggesting over active imagination, daydreaming, mis communications (both ways)
