Astrologer50- You're exactly the person to ask this kind of question...You see...I think nothing better helps iron out questions we may have...just like this, than a little bit of time. Have the Sun aspects in your chart reflected the marriage details of your life?

I've only heard Sun aspects for marriage being ... somewhat, experimental. I've never read an astro. book on this, not that they don't exist, just people experimenting with that on here. The 7th however, yes, that's a given. Have the aspects to your 7th ruler and it's placement...reflected themselves in your life?

I really think by asking the more experienced astrologers on here about how their charts have panned out over time for them, can really teach us young'ins a few things. That way we can look toward our 7th, ruler, aspects with more confidence. Plus, the aspects in particular override the house system issue.

(P.s. are you a modern or tradition astrologer, or both?)

7th ruler: Saturn
House: 5th/6th
Aspects: Saturn trine Sun, conjunct Uranus, square Moon, Venus.

I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer

Unfortunately, there is no set formula or signature, although others may disagree, apparently horary and vedic seem confident in this area

Now in Equal and placidus Uranus is in the 6th or interpreted as if in 6th

Saturn stays in 5th house and rules the 7th, this to me just suggests you want a partner to join or help in 5th house matters like children, self employment, romance, creativity etc. As well as the usual delay in romance, poss not even wanting children and/or long time in labour to.
(if you were a woman of course  )

Using the methods suggests in other posts in my own chart of how many aspect my sun makes before it leaves a sign I have 4 poss 5 if we include a quincunx and am presently on 4th -- hopefully last

This website has typical analysis
"o the Sun seems to be more significant an indicator for marriage in a woman’s chart than in a man’s
o the asteroid Juno is a significant indicator of marriage for both men and women. The wife’s Sun and Mars often oppose the husband’s Juno; the husband’s Venus, Mars and Mercury often trine the wife’s Juno.
o the husband's Vertex conjunct the wife's North Node
o the husband's Ascendant square the wife's Ceres
o the wife's Vesta sextile the husband's North Node
o the wife's Vertex opposite the husband's North Node
o the wife's Venus conjunct the husband's Pallas
o the husband's Venus sextile the wife's Mars
o the wife's Vertex conjunct the husband's Sun
o the husband's Pallas conjunct the wife's Sun
o the wife's Ascendant opposite the husband's Pallas
o the husband's North Node square the wife's North Node
o the husband's North Node opposite the wife's North Node "

"Following our own research so far, there is an important signature that stands out for the moment and that points to a marriage:
The Ascendant of one partner EXACTLY conjunct one of the angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) of the other partner and/or
The MC of one partner EXACTLY conjunct one of the angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) of the other partner.
The more the conjunction is exact the better and if ALL the angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) of one parter coincide with the angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) of the other"

They were some good links on planets on the house cusps, astrologer50. Good food for thought.

And personally, I think I identify with Saturn in the 6th more...and I really like the idea of working with a partner and aiming sky high...a really motivated, strong couple who compliment and challenge each other.

Should we be looking at natal aspects to the Sun or it's final aspects before it leaves the sign? Also, I've Solar Arc Venus conjunct Jupiter this year...wonder if that shows itself.

for females it's sun's aspects before it leaves that sign, for maless it's the moon's aspect before it leaves a sign. YOu could also play about with Lots --

Part of marriage women (1) Asc + Saturn - venus
Part of marriage women (2) Asc + mars – moon
Part of marriage man (1) Asc + venus – Saturn
Part of marriage man (2) Asc + venus – sun
Lot of Children
Day Lot = Asc. + Sa - Ju
Night Lot = Asc. + Ju - Sa

the above link will calculate for you
http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_fortune_e.htm
The point being is to see if any natal planets is in same degree ie: 3'5" taurus would be same as 3'5" in ANY fixed sign and is considered conjunct. Then a passing transit, progressions or even solar arc could activate this midpoint. All depends if it's the benefic Jupiter, venus etc or malifics saturn, uranus, neptune, pluto

SA Venus conj Jupiter sounds lovely, what house is it in?

Hmm about time I got into the Lots.

That's a great link for simple, free calculation. Well my Lot of Marriage
is Libra 22.46 That's almost exactly opposite my natal Sun. And Saturn is transiting Libra so when it hits that Lot of Marriage... commitment? Oh, and Saturn rules my 7th natally...Or, the first sign of commitment, if other things add up in the chart at that time...June 21st 2012...it retrogrades that point.

And I've Solar Arc Venus transiting natal Jupiter, I had it the wrong way around...and occurring in the 10th of Aries.

well I sincerely hope something happens. How is your Jupiter aspected? any malifics? Could also mean money or expansion in work/career to being 10th house....

Well I'm not expecting marriage with the Solar Arc Venus conjunct Jupiter lol. I've read up on it and love was only a part of the probability.

The TR Saturn to hit the Lot of Marriage in 2 years is ... interesting though!

I have had always problems with the rule that a woman should look to her sun and see how many aspects it makes before it leaves the sign it's in. My sun is at 29 degrees of leo and it is separating from a trine to natal moon at 28 degrees and applying to opposition with jupiter at 3 degrees of pisces. I have been married (now widowed) and my sun makes no aspects before it leaves leo My husband's moon made 3 aspects before it left its sign of libra and he was married only once

I think it's worth bearing in mind that the natal chart, like solar returns is all about 'potential' but as we all know we don't always fullfil that potential do we.

It's like someone saying they can predict death, but with modern medicine and sciences the way they are and the potential to 'die' three times in a life, doesn't mean to say you will does it :joyful:

I think lots of people have unrealistic expectations about what astrology can and can't do. astrology is an 'art, science and craft' and not clairvoyance either. If there were a formula or signature, don't you think we would ALL be using it?

I don't really care if some members here sick of me posting links, we get new members all the time that can be so self absorbed they don't read other people's threads they just want answers now now now to their 'same old' questions --

Unfortunately, there is no set formula or signature for marriage or childbirth, although others may disagree, apparently horary and vedic seem confident in this area. There are indicators and potential as there would be with natal, solar return chart but guarantees --

Hi
I'm confused about the Part of Marriage... Which formula is best? Does it depend on your chart?

I'm single, 46 and would love to get married.. Prog Venus will conjunct Natal Uranus in my Natal 5H this year, and eclipses on 1/7 axis just started this year, which gives me some hope :)

Here are the 3 formulas that I'm aware of, with calculations for my chart

Part of marriage women (1) Asc + saturn - venus ... Aquarius 00'22"
Part of marriage women (2) Asc + mars – moon ... Cancer 13'04"
Part of marriage both men & women Asc + Desc - venus ... Libra 09'57"

I don't use them, I just put them there for members to try and play about with.
