| Medical Astrology Astrological diagnoses and other health issues are discussed here. Given that there are so many outer and inner influences on one's health (alimentation, sports, medication, past medical antecedents, state of mind, etc.), an astrological diagnosis is only one of many things to consider when determining your healthiness. |

Ceres in Virgo House XII
Hi, people! If would be really glad if someone could help me.
Well, I have Ceres in Virgo in House XII and I'm scared to death.
I was reading that this aspect means Infertility. The simple Ceres in House XII means problems with maternity but the worst part is that Virgo is an sterile planet. I'm freaking out as hell.
Is there some oportunity with maternity by having this awful Ceres aspect?
Btw, I don't like the fact that makes an opposition with Chiron that is the only planet I have on House 8 (in Gemini) and Juno is in opposition with Lilith (mariage in opposition with sexuality doesn't sounds pretty good :S).

Welcome to the Forum Phoenix! Hope you will enjoy every minute of being here. You said:

No Phoenix, Virgo is an infertile sign.

Now, if Ceres is in house 12, then it cannot oppose Chiron in house 8. Oppositions can only be made from 12 to 6.

I'm freaking out as hell;DON'T, that is totally unnecessary.

Maybe the traditional astrologers would have stricter rules concerning which sign is and which one is not fertile-
Modern astrologers will look at the 5th house, it's ruler and in which sign that ruler is positioned. They will also look at the Moon, ruling children and fertility. Is your Moon in a fertile sign?, maybe the ruler of your 5th house?
Best of all would be to upload your natal chart: Sticky: Attaching Chart as a Thumbnail! (without your name or birthplace!) then others can see better what the problem might be.
Cheers, Starlink

Re: Ceres in Virgo House XII
Hi, Starlink!
Yes, Virgo is a sign... I don't know why I wrote "planet".
Well, the only thing that freaked me out was the fact that I found a lot of places telling that Ceres in 12 House was Infertile.
5th House is in Aquarius, with Jupiter in the same sign (Jupiter is my regent, I'm a Sagittarius).
The Moon is in Aries in the 6th House in Pisces.
I'm going to post the Natal Chart as you say. I really want to have kids, so I hope to have some posibility
Thanks!

Re: Ceres in Virgo House XII
Phoenix's Song,
There is no need to panic whatsoever. Firstly, don't get into such 'deterministic' Astrology that the placement of an asteroid should bother you that much. Though your 5th house falls in a sign ruled by Saturn, yet the sign itself, Aqua, is considered more fruitful than barren as per Lilly. Also, you have the bountiful Jup in the 5th. This great benefic, Jup, also disposits Saturn. Looking at your Moon, well, in this respect, it could have been better placed than in hot and dry Aries, but it is in a nice and close trine to the smaller benefic, Venus (which is also disposited by Jup), which in turn rules your Asc. Also, neither the planet in the 5th, nor the lord of the 5th are in their signs of detriment nor retrgrade. One could go on and on, but this should do. This is one of the reasons, I like to pay more attention to planets, their aspects and general condition, rather than confuse myself with all those asteroids (with the exception of Chiron).

Re: Ceres in Virgo House XII
Phoenix, Aquarius7000 has given you excellent information about your chart and there is little I can add to that. What I can tell you is that your 5th house consists of 2 signs and Pisces is one of them. Solar Arc Jupiter is at this moment still in Pisces, very well placed and fertile. Solar Arc Moon is also now in it's own sign, Cancer, another fertile sign. Uranus, the modern ruler of your 5th house trines your Moon.
I really would not be worried. Bringing yourself in a state like that might then be the reason why you cant get pregnant. You know probably just as well as I do that your state of mind has great influence on these matters. A girlfriend of mine could not get pregnant. 8 years of trying and all sorts of tests , nothing. So she decided to adopt. The year after she adopted a child, she got pregnant and after that again. She was just relaxed about it and then it all happened. So there you are. Relax 3x over, try to think of something else and changes of getting pregnant will be 3x higher!

Re: Ceres in Virgo House XII
Hermetic, thanks for this link. It could show Phoenix also that Ceres has more to do with how we nurture things, then that it has to do with getting pregnant. However, I also would not really rely on these "cookbook" descriptions by sign of Ceres like this one, taken from that link you gave us:
Quote:
|
Ceres in Aries: is nurtured by action and physical activity. What kind of action? Any kind. Aries isn't that particular as long as it's moving. If you have this placement, you are less likely to nurture others by being cuddly. More likely, you will take them on some strenuous activity. If you have children with this placement, they may require fewer hugs and more mutual activities with you.
|
I happen to have Ceres in my 5th house (children) and Aries. If ever there was a cuddlier mother, it is me.This also extends to my partners.
My children did like to do things with me together, like all children would but never anything more strenuous, no way! I am a lazy Taurus. Even though I did like very strenuous exercise in the gym just by myself when I was young, I never liked climbing mountains or biking uphills with my kids! I preferred taking them to the Zoo instead.

I never got the "barren signs" thing, and why Saturn's 2 wintry signs aren't included. Maybe you or someone can explain what is meant by that?

Re: Ceres in Virgo House XII
Hi Pallas, well, these things were looked at from natures point of view I guess in the 16th century and before that. Everything watery and earthy was fruitful and thus fertile, and everything airy and fiery was not. It is all explained in William Lilly's Christian Astrology. I have the book, but I think you can find it in the internet as well. Just google it.

Re: Ceres in Virgo House XII
Remembering that Ceres is not a planet. We need to get a sense of proportion. It may be connected to Virgo and the harvest.... Infertility belongs to the Moon and its connections.
I also have Ceres in the 6th and there are no infertility issues for me.

Exactly my point. INfertility does not belong to a fixed star or asteroid alone...
