Western astrology has similar ideas as to the healing properties of planets; ..................simply just express and use the power associated with their function in the manner for which they were intended.

How do you know when to use which planet method? Is it based on natal, dasas and/or transits?

Using Western astrology, it's the natal planetary position in which the healing energy lies. When transits to the natal planets occur, their function is activated. So if you have a Mercury in Cancer it is important that everytime it is transited you attempt to verbally express what you are feeling through the images your mind creates of the situation. You may not be dealing with physical facts as a Mercury in Earth might do, yet it is the way your mind is programmed to work. Use it in the intended manner and you will not succumb to Mercury in Cancer physical disorders. Trying to think precisely, quick-wittedly, theoretically etc., all non-Cancer mannerisms, or not voice your imagined thoughts, and Mercury can become upset......figuratively as well as physically speaking...and you could get e.g. fluid in the lungs, wet coughs. The same concept applies to any planet. It's the harsh aspects that create the conflicts and tension to use the different natal temperaments(elements) in a workable manner with, instead of against each other, thus keeping physical disorders at bay.

I like it. Thanks! The reason I inquired about Vedic, is that the nodes were listed as Rahu and Ketu, typically Vedic terms; and then, there may be more to consider.
