Moon and Mars in mutual recept by sign
Hi
Moon in Aries and Mars in Cancer are in an applying square, the first thing that comes to mind is arguments or other such energies. Mars represents me, a significator, Moon is not a specific significator but the usual story teller of the chart.
Does this aspect imply arguments (the square and the nature of the two planets), or would the mutual reception by sign cancel that out as Mars recieves Moon well where he is, and Moon recieves Mars well in Aries? Or would it simply show a challenge in getting the two significators together? (square = challenge)

Re: Moon and Mars in mutual recept by sign
NR,
This is a bit of a debated question, and the following would only be scratching the surface of it over here. Mutual reception by sign rulership, such as the example you give, is the most potent one, whereby both planets welcome eachother in their own homes (signs), conferring their own power (they enjoy in their own sign) to the other, so mutual empowering through reception. However, what this mutual 'exchange' of power or strength does, or how far it goes in its interplay is the debated part (simply strengthening eachother or scoring out the debilation and mal effects of the other). Bonatus, for instance, says, "reception abates all malice", whilst some others simply say that planets receiving eachother mutually strengthen one another in their (inherent) ability to act and help make events happen. Hence, going by the latter, Mars would still act as it usually does, but, despite being in Cancer (fall) gains strength through its mutual reception with the Moon. Now, if there is also an aspect between the two 'receiving' planets, that then forms another bridge of exchange/ relationship between the two, and strengthens theo whole things further, making it even more likely that 'things will happen' (however, the type of aspect will say a lot). A square, which is frustrating or impeding by nature, might hinder or delay the happening of the event. The square between the Moon and Mars, where the Moon as usual is the 'driving power' and the 'background' of the chart, might show your (Mars is you) frustration with the situation/background in question or inability to drive things and achieve results.

Re: Moon and Mars in mutual recept by sign
Thanks very much Aquarius!
Hmm, my computer just did a weird thing and went back by itself, so I lost what I typed just now...
I see, it makes sense! Mars is the lesser maelific, in Cancer is perhaps not in the best shape in fall, so thats me, frustrate in my actions and not even able to act (in fall in Cancer, a water sign whereas Mars is fire and action). Moon is the action in the chart, in Aries, cardinal, but I think its peregrine in Aries (?)- so a bit of a wanderer? They seem to complement each other in their respective signs, but the ingoing square showing my frustrations, and perhaps anger!
Its an interesting chart, Venus is the thing I'm after, (a new place to live), and I'm Mars. Moon squares Mars then trines Venus, looks like I get it after an argument or some frustrations..
Thanks again for your help Aqua7
