Is the new thyroid medicine making me gain weight?

Hi again!
My new physician switched my thyroid medicine, which I have been on now for one week. This is the only thing that I have changed medication wise other than adding oxcytocin for circulation. I have gained 5 lbs in three days(4 of those lbs in the past two days.) Believe me, it shows too! I have eaten a little more the past couple days but nothing to warrant such a substantial weight gain. In addition, I have worked out each day.

Side note: this type of weight gain happened once before when I mistakenly took my progesterone instead of my thyroid medicine for an entire week. Hence the horary question...

1st H Venus in the 10th H
2nd H which rules medicine; ruler Mercury in the 9th
Moon in 6th house; ruler of 6th H Mercury
7th house of Physician Mars in the 8th
10th H of physician giving me medicine is ruled by Saturn

Well this is where I am a little stumped:
Moon Square Mercury gives me a no answer, in addition to supporting a no is Mecury and Moon being cadent; however, Moon also trines Venus and then Mars. What's more, Moon is in Saturns Exaltation, Triplicity, and Term giving it strength. Lastly, Venus(me) sitting in the house of physician giving me medicine and the moon sitting in the 6th house of health all seems to indicate a yes.

Any thoughts on which houses to use?

without even looking at the chart l say yes. Thyroid medicines have a tendency to do that

Hi Moulin
Thank you for the reply. Hum...I have never heard of that happening. I have been on thyroid medicine for hypothyroid for 18 years and if anything it's had the opposite affect for me as it's formulated to speed the thyroid up-sort of jump start it if you will. I suspect there is something going on with the new medicine that is causing the weight issues, or maybe some other female hormone issues...

Anyone else willing to take a look? At least maybe help with what houses to use?

I have no clue which houses to use for questions like these but the weight could be just water weight, until your body adapts to this new balance of hormones, thus it has this water retaining effect
Surely the medicine for underactive thyroid should make you lose not gain.

I am thinking along the lines how I used to gain weight for the first 1-2 weeks while on the new birth control pill, and after that body adapts, and you don't gain anymore, and even lose those 2-3 kgs.
Can be similar to that, but ask your dr if it worries you

I know it seems far fetched, but it's the only thing I have changed medication wise. I did speak to him and he said for me to experiment with going back to my old medicine for a little while to see if I drop the weight. After I drop the weight, go back to the new thyroid meds and see if it happens again.

Geez, I haven't even started the oral hydrocortisone he wants me to start daily! THAT I know can put weight on a person. I will probably look like Santa by the end of the year at this rate!!!

Not an astrological answer, but a medical answer. Thyroid hormone opposes estrogen, mayhap allowing progesterone to express itself more completely. If progesterone causes you to gain weight, that could be the cause of it. Also, if it is progesterone, it is probably water weight, so you may need to work though a cycle to see if your weight "stabilizes", allowing for flux in your cycle.
