Do Saturn transits show you your fate, or just your fears?
Hello,
I'm having Saturn opposing my natal Moon and I've flipped! The last time it was in the same position, my parents went through a divorce, dad went off with another woman who had a girl my age, and my mum and I moved country for half a year, then came back to UK.
Now its opposing Moon again, I'm experienceing all these emotions that my mum probably went through. I have discovered a complete terror of becoming close in a relationship incase the same thing happens. I am having visions of infedelity, being totally abandoned, of getting divorced.
So I am wondering whether Saturn is showing me what my future 'fate' or 'karma' will be. Is he saying, this is how it's going to be, so you better prepare for it.. Or are these visions I'm having just my worst fears being exposed so I can face them? I just see history repeating itself and I'm terrified of reliving my mother's history with my father. I'm trying to have faith in myself but these visions are really terrifying and depressing me. Does Saturn somehow show you your fears so you have a chance to face them and resolve them, because if they remain subconscious, they may well manifest in front of they eyes...?
Thank you,
NR

Fear, to Neptune
Neptune,
You asked:

Saturn is about your responsibility, about the things you need to do in life. If you don't face them, these responsibilities "haunt" you and become your fears. And the more you try to avoid your responsibilities, the more likely everything you fear is to happen. So "do what needs to be done" (as someone once said) and face up to your responsibilities. Then there is nothing to fear.
Unfearingly,
Tim

Re: Do Saturn transits show you your fate, or just your fears?
Thanks for the words of wisdom Tim and Shining Ray, this is just the sort of food for thought I was searching for to help things make more sense.
A sense of responsibility has been quite prominent, both in work and relationship. Relationship and it's ramifications is what I fear most, but I know I have to be responsible in it. I've always acted irresponsible in relationships, probably for my fears, I wanted nothing to do with all that if 'the worst' was going to happen. But now, its different! I can see this irresponsible/carefree behaviour for what it is consciously, and I know how I want to be, and this Saturn transit is showing me the way these behaviours clash, a rocky road to a more fulfilling future.
Shining Ray, you have your Saturn return. I remember the frustration on my Saturn return! I took up jogging in the end. Wall painting sounds quite therapeutic.

this influence is in aid of making you 'feel' in order that you might learn about your inner child and it's current state, and how appropriately or not it (you) reacts to life situations; and consequently how you might make adjustments to you life priorities so that your Saturanian adult self may remain mindful of, and look after the lunar child within you.
|
Absolutely! I've seen myself lately just over-react to situations, really out of my character, and totally regret my actions immediately afterwards. I've quickly learned to think first. Close friends have said how I'm too 'wound up' lately. I've found solitude, also meditation to be especially nice right now, in fact I'm seeking solitude. I think my innner child needs some attention.
Transiting Saturn is also sesquisquadrate my natal Chiron, which is square my Sun. It's definately bringing up all my family issues/fears. uggh. But I've sensed for a while that my fears need to be faced.
I guess Saturn lessons are worthwile but can be soo hard!
Thanks for the replys, I'll be refering back to this thread over the next year for some rationale in times of crisis.

But weren't you just a small child when all that happened? Remember, if I have your chart correct (you posted it at some time previously), you were seeing the behavior of your parents. You had nothing to do with the divorce. Of course I understand how going through that would have been terribly painful. But remember also that at the age you were powerless.

I think these fears are completely understandable, considering what you have told us. However, I can tell you from personal experience that the issues faced from a transit of Saturn, when it repeats almost 30 years later, can be very, very different.

I don't believe this is so.

That would be my interpretation. Saturn is about lessons, about learning what we need to learn. It sounds pat, but it's true. When you have fears, they are either unfounded (in which case you have to learn that you are afraid of something for irrational reasons) or they are real (in which case you have to do something to change things).

I would say yes and no. You do, as you say, have Neptune rising! The danger of Neptune and Neptune aspects is that we prefer to live in a dream-world, ignoring reality. That's the down-side. I know a bit about this, having Neptune conjunct my Sun and Moon. If you view the world through rose-colored glasses, Saturn aspects rip them off somehow. You find yourself with no choice but to look at things realistically.
But the matter of your fears manifesting does not seem like the biggest problem. It is that you could go on fearing something, without cause, and the fear itself can make you very unhappy.
This is a very long way of saying what Tim may have meant: the lessons you are learning right now may be about fear itself, that it does not have to rule your life.

Re: Do Saturn transits show you your fate, or just your fears?
Hi Gaer,
Thank you for replying. I think I was 6 when my parents divorced, I guess its left its effects on me in my fear of relationships and getting close to anyone. Maybe Saturn is pointing this out to me now. Friends and people around me are trying to get close but telling me I've closed off. I think Saturn was exact today opp my Moon because the events around me were just incredible, I can only describe them as a Saturn opp Moon effect. I think I have to soften up and loosen up to people instead of being the wound up spring that I usually am! You are right, the fear of getting close to people has been ruling my life and I've longed to loose it.
Thanks again everyone, you're all a real help.
