Pisces Rulership

Hello all

I have been in a silly pissing contest with someone online and it is really frustrating, my **** ego always gets in the way lately... anyway he insists that it is stupid to use modern interpretations of rulerships, and that Neptune does not even rule Pisces. This doesn't sit right with me since the energies of Pisces and Neptune seem to be so on key with each other compared to Jupiter, although of course one is valid in claiming that they are similar but still. Now of course many that practice the more traditional forms of Astrology would instantly say definitly Jupiter.

I just want to hear your thoughts on how the heck can we ignore the outer planets in thier own rulerships when they seem to suit thier sign much better then the traditional ones IMO at least. Don't just assume you are right i want to hear a good arguement!

Thanks...

Re: Pisces Rulership

Neptune is co-ruler of Pisces. Jupiter is closer associated with Sag. I think the same holds true of Pluto as it co-rules Scorpio and Mars is better suited to rule Aries. Both rulers find affinity with their associated signs ,but the outer planets are basicly malefics in my opinion.

Neptune rules oceans,Fluids,Chems,Religion and other things like Pisces. I really do not see an argument as to rulerships as they have been established long before we got here unless you were born when Pluto was discovered.

These outer planets have to rule something or else find an energy field that it finds an affinity to and if not Pisces then what? It's just not another rock floating arounf the universe in a set course I think.

Re: Pisces Rulership

Lol nice pixiequix makes me feel better and makes since, mars is also approaching my moon and jupiter :86: (not sure what that smiley is but seems confused!).

I have to agree with you guys... it's silly to not realize that times change, nothing ever really stands still after all. This guy is the leader of a so called Indigo group on silly myspace . He seems to think that the new planets rule nothing which makes no sense to me. This new ushering age is about relinquishing the past! Thanks... i seem to doubt myself lately. But ya they can both rule... but Neptune seems to fit Pisces just about perfect.

This is another topic maybe but what about Pisces being generally more psychic then other signs? Maybe all the water signs are in their own way but alot of people argue that Pisces is the most(this is not about me please dont assume this, more objective discussion i am not really that psychic anyway even with my stellium). I just see Pisces as being so emotional and sensitive, it makes sense. Plus, traditionally, Jupiter was the more psychic planet right?

Re: Pisces Rulership

I will have to go and search for the source, but I read somewhere that the outer planets are linked to the signs they rule because of their similarity, whereas the traditional rulerships are based on an entirely different system. Modern astrologers paired Neptune and Pisces because of their similarities, but traditional rulerships don't work that way.

For the life of me I can't remember where I read it, but when I find it I will quote the author and exact phrasing.

Re: Pisces Rulership

I totally agree with what you have said, Neptune is the planet I most associate with Pisces. I wouldn't bother getting into an arguement about traditional astrology. I have learned just to hold my tongue when I see comments made against modern astrology. "Traditional" Astrologer's sure do spend a lot of their time attacking modern Astrology.

I don't know why traditional Astrologer's have chosen to leave the outer planets out of the picture. It's like their stuck in time. Astrology like life evolves. Life isn't as barbaric as the older days, there are a lot more choices today, traditional astrology can be too fatalistic. I am not saying we all can't learn valuable tools from traditional Astrology but it needs to move into todays world. Why they are ignoring the outer planets like they were never discovered is beyond me.
