Will this stock go up?

I've had this stock for a number of years, and it has pretty much stayed the same. I wanted to know if it would go up, and when.

The stock itself is ruled by the 2nd house, as it is a resource owned by me. I believe we also look at the Asc.

The chart looks good in that Jupiter is rising in Taurus. Sounds fertile.
The 2nd house ruler is Mercury in Aries in the 12th house. Poor placement, which is accurate, as its not doing much right now. Mercury is applying to sextile Venus on the cusp of the 2nd though, in 8.25 degrees.

The moon is also about to conjunct Venus, the chart ruler, on the 2nd cusp. This must bode well. Not sure if Venus is me, or another aspect of the stock itself.

Part of Fortune in the 2nd.

So, in general i would say it looks positive and it will go up. When? Moon to Venus perhaps, which is 5.5 degrees. Months maybe. Early October.

Am I reading this correctly?

It's a 5th house matter. Stocks are speculative.

So, if it was my horary, and I considered the 5th to signify the stocks, the Sun would indicate what has happened to the stocks. Since the Sun was exalted and no longer, I would have to say that the stocks used to be worth, recently, more than they are now at present.

If you use the 2nd, Mercury ruling your stocks in the 11th and mutual reception with Mars would indicate they really are worth something now.

And, some would argue that the 8th, of other people's money, would rule stocks since they really are not yours per se. I don't ascribe to that one but, in fairness I present it here. If this were the case, then Jupiter signifies the stocks and, it's not doing much in the chart.

So, how to solve the puzzle. Well, none of the above planets is really doing anything with you, or to you. No aspects to them, no involvement, nothing. Only Jupiter seems to say that other people's money is in your hands as he is on the ASC but, you can't really get to him.

The Moon recently passed a sextile to Mercury, lord of the 2nd and Fortuna. So, again we are being told that some opportunity passed or they were worth more in the past.

Now the Moon applies to Venus which, doesn't really have a lot of power tho, she is close to your 2nd. Still, seems to me the heyday of this stock recently passed and it doesn't look like it's going up for some time.

As to whether to sell or keep it tho...that is an entirely different matter.

However, stocks are definitely 2nd house. We had this discussion on a thread here a while ago, and the concensus was 2nd house. Skyscript forum agrees with that as well. Its my money in an investment form. I could easily sell the stock right now and the money is most definitely mine.

Moon is actually translating from Merc, the stock, to Venus, me. But don't know if that's good, or not. It could just mean that I may sell it soon.

However, if we look at the stock itself, Mercury, it is applying to a benefic, so that should be an upswing.

I agree with Jupiter applying to conjunct the Asc as an upswing as well.

Jup hits Asc in half a degree, or 1/2 a year could be 6 months ish
Moon hits Venus in 5.5 degrees

Looks like 5.5-6 months would be a good call. Mid Oct.

No problem. I'm no financial expert, tho.

I only have to say this about the 2nd house. Money is money, stocks are not. If I have $20 in my pocket, then when I go to buy something, I have $20.

If I have stocks, they are not money. I can make/lose money from them. But, if I have stock cert for $20 and I go to buy something and cash that in, I may have $10 or $100, who knows. That is why they are speculative which the 2nd house does not cover or rule.

The 2nd is for your moveable, tangeable goods. Stocks are a concept (not like money isn't but...), like intellectual rights and all those grey areas that can make money but are not tangeable and moveable or money in and of themselves. They are just that speculative. And so is this.

So, did they drop significantly in price recently or....

I looked it up in Munkasey's Astrological Thesaurus, and he says stocks are 5th house as well.

sigh.

Actually, if we use the 5th ruler the Sun, the Sun is about to conjunct Ceres, which is good, and it will eventually conjunct Jupiter and the Asc, so that sounds good too. It may just take a while.

This sort of reminds me of the old argument we had about which house rules lottery tickets. Everyone said 5th, but it was Frawley who said it was actually 11th...pennies from heaven.

I'll keep investigating and see who else says what. Someone made a really good argument about the 5th being the action of speculation...like buying the lottery ticket, or having fun, or buying the stock, but the actual lottery ticket itself and the actual stock itself are different houses. Or so they said.

I also wanted to mention that it doesn't matter if the stock applies to me or not in this particular horary.

The question was simply 'will the stock itself go up in price.' which is different from will i make money from it, or will I sell it, or whatever.

So all we need to look at is the stock itself, and what its strength is and next aspects are.

Now after I say this, it just occured to me that maybe we should use a different house for stock 'profits'. If the 5th is the stock, then wouldn't the 6th be the profits from the stock?

If anything I'd say the timing might be in the Moon to Fortuna or when Mercury changes to Taurus or Venus to Cancer or Sun to Jupiter on the ASC...symbolic timing that is. Hard to say. You'd have to look at the predominance of testimonies between all that and see what timeline it gives.
