Pig compatibility

Hi all.

Scorpio Pig here. I'd be very interested in hearing my compatibility with the other [Chinese] signs [as well as western]. What's especially interesting is how I'm apparently 'Soul Mate' to the Tiger despite so many differences? What's a Soul Mate? I mean, last I checked Tigers eat Pigs..!

Also, any advice on how to control a social situation as Pig would be appreciated, as I have many friends [especially Rat types] who keep trying to set me up with people I'm wholly unattracted to purely on the basis that they're a 'compatible' sign to mine... something which is massively annoying! From what I understand of Chinese Astrology, the Pig is the LEAST able to be a social mover and shaker, frequently the victim of manipulations by all other 11 signs. Any recourse I may have on how to influence the world back would be greatly appreciated as I'm currently stuck in a social rut that I need to leave s soon as possible!

I know the type of person I'm looking for, I just need to know that when I spot them I'm not at the mercy of their whims of attraction [that is to say, 100%, at least] and that I wield some kind of power beyond blind naivety and a Pollyannaish perspective on things.

I am a Leo Tiger so I have a double dose of feline influences. I am very much a lioness and tigress. I was really surprised to discover that the Pig is my soul mate too.

I met a guy recently as in only last week and he had this effect on me that no one really ever has had. I found out he is a Taurus Pig. I can't really explain it but we just instantly clicked. Right away. Almost instantaneously. It is not even a sexual connection but more like an electric one. Being a Tiger I usually have that effect on people but very rarely do people have that effect on me. I am so glad that I met him and I don't even care if we just end up being friends. There are many categories of compatibility in Chinese Horoscope, and somehow a bit similar to Western Horoscope. I would try to explain here...

In Chinese Horoscope, Pig in occult study is written as " 亥". Is the second element and the Yin element of water out of the 12 signs.

Pig goes very well with another water element which is "子" the Yang element of Water. Because they share some common characteristics.
"子" is the Rat.

Pig also goes very well with Cow "丑", the Yin element of Earth. That is because with this Yin Earth element, it also contain hidden Yin Water element.

亥子丑 is one group three together formed "The Northern Water", which can explain why we more tend to make friends with people within similar age group. For example, 1983 is the Year of Pig, Rat is 1984, Cow is 1985. That is similar to the Scorpio, Cancer and Pisces.

The other category 亥卯未, Pig, Rabbit and Sheep together they formed "The Wood", directed to the East. We know that Pig is 亥; 卯 is Rabbit, the Yin element of Wood, and 未 is the Yin element of Earth. Water nurture the elements that are hidden under these two elements. Within the 卯, we can find another Yin-Wood that represents all kind of small plants such as flowers and less harshly bushes, this kind of Yin-Wood prefer the gentle Water which is 亥, water from rain.

未 is sheep, within this element, we can find three hidden elements including Yin-Earth, Yin-Fire and Yin-Water, again because 亥未 both shared the common Yin-Water elements. In Western is bit like the Fixed, Mutable, and Cardinal groups.

But why Tiger, "寅" gets along well with Pig? Because Tiger is a Yang-Wood, and the hidden elements are Yang-Wood, Yang-Fire, Yang-Earth, fully Yang-elements. With this 亥, we can find Yang-Water and Yang-Wood, so the Yang-Water matches the Yang-Wood in Tiger and Yang-Wood in both Pig and Tiger again their common points, therefore like siblings.

The other reason is Tiger by principles of Chinese occult acting as the Lucky element of Pig. For some reasons, Tiger loves Pig unconditionally and want to protect and help Pig (very funny, Tiger doesn't eat Pig here!) which sometime remains me of Winnie-the-Pooh's cartoon. In this case, a bit like Opposite attract, for example, like the relationship of Taurus vs Scorpio. Both are extremely sensual signs but one directed outward, the other directed inward. But somehow, I understand you and you understand me.

Just to be aware, we are only talking about the Year here, for month, day and time, we again have all these mixed variations. Even the Year that you born matching well, it doesn't always automatically=soul mates combination.

To response back to Carris's query, Sheep is either 4 years older or younger than Pig. Rabbit is either 8 years older of 8 years younger than Pig. Tiger is 9 years older or 9 years younger. Or whoever born in the years of those Chinese Zodiacs. It could be a lot older or younger but usually in 4 years, 8 years and 9 years intervals, depending on when the Chinese New Year started and when the Zodiac exchange occurs!

Again, the reliable matching of two people, in Chinese Occult, mainly 8 Characters, we look at the balancing act of the elements between the two people. In Western Horoscope, we look at the interaction of the aspects between Planets in Synastry chart, that represents regular interaction within the relationship. But when two people actually have Sex, Composite Chart, when two had became one! The effects of elements, how well balanced of these two people will show! That is why some people have Fantastic Sex Life (Adult Only!)

Not so much my mother (Dragon), not when I was young anyway, completely different creatures we in many respects.


I am indeed born on the year of the Goat/Sheep.... so that makes sense I guess.

I don't know if there is any reliable scientific research which shows that any kind of astrological system can predict compatibility between people. Gauquelin's research did show that planets in the 12th/9th houses of the birth chart have some correlation to psyche of a person - but that has nothing to do with compatibility.

But I don't see how being born in a certain year can have such a large effect on any one - especially since we usually make friends in school - where all children in a grade will be born around the same year - so they will usually be of the same chinese sign. According to the chinese system we are most compatible with people born 4 or 8 years before or after us - but I don't really see that happening in real life.

According to western astrology also, I see no correlation. Amongst the people I know, the best friend pairs are people with suns in so called "incompatible" signs - virgo with sagittarius, aquarius with capricorn, leo with scorpio, capricorn with gemini, cancer with sagittarius, etc

This is a really great Thread!!! I have an excellent Chinese Astrology book where I was able construct my Chinese Astrology chart. I dont have this book with me now but I know that I am a Pisces Wood-Dragon and Im not joking the majority of my close significant relationships are with Pig people! These people are really the nicest and most loyal hands down!

Sorry but I didnt quite understand your post; were you replyi g to me? I am a Wood Dragon attracted to Pig people almost exclusively.

I think when I made this statement I was referring to the original thread by Thelps.
