Lightbulb Role Models, self-Worth, self-image by Venus for women...men?

http://www.astrologywithdonnalyn.com...s/fashion.html

I found a website about Venus and style. It points out that Venus for a woman is a woman's role model, self-worth, and self-image. What about for men? Would that be in the Sun? Or Mars? Or are men split? Sense of self worth being Venus, but self-image being Mars, and role models being in the Sun?

If this question sounds silly, I'm sorry.

Re: Role Models, self-Worth, self-image by Venus for women...men?

It's not silly but, let me just present something: Venus might be a role model for what others define woman as or as they think they should be but, all women probably don't resonate to Venus as a role model. Some might like Saturn or even Mars or the Sun as their role model.

This brings me to the second point. That being, the planets are not deities, and therefore, cannot really act as role models like a celebrity (or god/dess). They encapsulate ideas and notions that one might want to refine, define or embrace or run from. Specifically, they rule over and govern particular matters but that's about it.

Thirdly, Venus is not just for women....(oh, I sound like an advertisement now...). Venus' ideals are about refinement, beauty, art, subtlety and grace, etc. etc. These are just as much appreciated by a man as they are by a woman but, not all men or women appreciate these particular qualities in life or personally.

I second that. People can listen to whatever planets they want. Actually, one should be able to look at the chart and tell what a person is like without actually looking at that person.

Masculine and feminine (does not always correlate with hot and cold) planets according to Lilly:

Masculine:
Sun
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn

Feminine:
Moon
Venus

Variable:
Mercury (depends on if it's conjunct a masculine or feminine planet)

Thumbs up Re: Role Models, self-Worth, self-image by Venus for women...men?

I guess the article is just pointing out that Venus gives some clues as to how women may value themselves and others and in a man's chart it gives clues as to possibly a woman he values as well as others. It's true that when thinking about others we point to role models. But in our personal chart we may like any one of them.

So Mars gives some clues as to how men may value themselves and possibly in a woman's chart, the particular man she may be attracted to?

If a man were to say "I think a real man is..." Where would one look first? The Sun and it's aspects and houses or Mars? Or Venus?

I also agree that the planets encapsulate ideas. Each planet seems to bring out different points of a personality that is already developed/in development.

It's technically stereotypical BS..to be polite.

So Mars gives some clues as to how men may value themselves and possibly in a woman's chart, the particular man she may be attracted to?

No, it doesn't. Mars might not even be a dominant planet in a particular man's chart. It might be Jupiter. You don't get to choose who you are....you just are and get to work with what you got from there.

If in a particular man's chart you were pointing all day at Mars to him when really he is Jupiter you are going to really mis-guide someone from their potential.

If a man were to say "I think a real man is..." Where would one look first? The Sun and it's aspects and houses or Mars? Or Venus?

"A real man", "a real woman"...what are these....is there a picture in some book for this definition? Ugh...please don"t go there.

I also agree that the planets encapsulate ideas. Each planet seems to bring out different points of a personality that is already developed/in development.

Good. For a moment you had me worried that you were trying to turn a duck into a pond.
Planets are not there to make prejudicial or moral or ethical or even sociological judgments any more than your mirror in the bathroom does.

Dominant planets also vary widely between systems. Ptolemy says I'm Saturn, modern says I'm Uranus, and tropical Hellenism says I'm the Moon and Venus. I think we can eliminate the last one (tropical Hellenism) since I'd rather be totally alone than in a bad relationship and I've been putting that concept into practice for a few years, but that raises the partially ethics-related question of whether we should tweak interpretations according to experience or not, which is totally relevant because tweaking interpretations due to experience is where this mostly stereotypical "BS" comes from. (It is stereotypical BS, but many men and women do try to alter themselves to fit cultural stereotypes.)

Re: Role Models, self-Worth, self-image by Venus for women...men?

Although this is a sterotype as others have stated there is truth that venus and the moon influence a mans emotions of what kind of woman stirs him. He reacts to women in his mars placement. However we are here of free will and what kind of woman he will draw is also enviromental. Consider his mother if a bad or good relationship.

I feel happier and in my spot when exhibiting my venus sign as this will be true for both sex. It is the planet of love. My sun is in the 9th and am drawn to understand along with uranus in my 11 and critical of superficial friendships. Pluto is in my 12 house which all in all makes me a deep roller. Venus is in Gemini which would indicate in many books that I like light hearted relationship.....which will not work for me. I believe this is what the others were saying about considering the whole chart.
