Is it a good idea to quit?

Hi everyone,

I've been going through a tough time with work and school lately. I'm doing a traineeship so my job is part of the course. Over the past month or so, I've been struggling with stress (I won't get into the details of why unless it's necessasy) which is now presenting itself as minor health problems.

I feel as if I'm at the end of my rope, and predict I will be handing in my resignation before Christmas. I have not shown up for 2 school assessments in the past week, and I plan on missing the remaining 2 this week. Basically, I'm quitting the lot.

I'm 8 months into this course/work, with 16 remaining.

Naturally when you let it slip that you're going to make a change like this, many people offer you their opinions. With all the opinions coming at me, I'm becoming more confused about whether I am making the right decision or not.

Would anyone be willing to look at my chart and offer some advice? Is this just a bad patch, or have the past 8 months of this course/work finally caught up with me?

Thank you, I would really appreciate some insight.

Pluto and Saturn, to Molly

Molly,

You have been having some very challenging Pluto (transformation) transits for some time now. Most of these transits are lessening in their power, but the transit of Pluto conjunct birth Neptune (spirituality, also confusion) conjunct (energy is combined with) Descendant (others) is still building. Pluto has to do with the transformation of who we are, usually by some form of powerful challenge we have to face. With a transit to Neptune, Pluto is stripping away any confusion you have about others in your life, forcing you to face others for who they are. It is possible that, in some way, others have convinced you that this job/school/whatever is the thing to do...if so, that confusion is being stripped away and you are now realizing that this is NOT something you want to do. And, since transiting (planets in the sky) Pluto is moving through your 6th house (daily work, also health), this "transformation" may be affecting your health.

In addition you have transiting Saturn (duty) squaring (energy needs to be combined with) your birth Saturn, indicating that you have an increasing sense of wanting to do the "right" thing. In this case, if you can not handle the pressure of school because you don't enjoy it, was confused when you decided to do it, etc. the "right" thing to do is to quit it and not pretend that is what you want to do.

Plutonically Saturnic,

Tim

I'm a bit confused by which Pluto transits you mean. Pluto moves so slowly. Are you talking about transits spanning the last few years?

Yeah, I got into this because a friend convinced me to. She didn't want to go alone, and as I had no other plans for my future, I went along with her. What a great way to make life decisions hey.

Thank you. *sigh of relief* It's hard to tell sometimes whether we are supposed to persevere through the challenges we face, or know when to walk away. As always, I'm very grateful for your help.

Re: Is it a good idea to quit?

Molly-

I did your Solar Return for Jan 07-Jan 08. (Kinda long)

In it, the first thing that jumps out is Saturn(Dues, delays) parcile conjunct
your MC(Career)!

The SR ASC is in the Nodal degree as well.....I'd imagine an extreme
upside down feeling in how you project yourself to others. Not always a bad thing, but SOMETHINGS gotta change!!
It can go easy, or it can go hard, but it's gotta go.

Oh, and Natal Uranus in your 6th is exactly conj. SR ASC too!
Hold on to your biscuits, Uranus has got a whirlwind handy.
The focus of the year will be in your service to others, mundane tasks, or health.
It's a "task" house(study Virgo for more insight), not a "I'm doing this because I love it" career house.
SR Moon(Your ASC Ruler/Body), is Opposed by Saturn(Natal 2nd ruler),
self worth/values/money taking a toll on your body still into the new year.

Also in the 6th, I see SR MARS conj. Natal Neptune.
Again, watch your drive, energy being slowed down/deceived.
*OR* it will be Focused in a more spiritual, artistic, Neptunian areas.

Natal 6th house ruler, Jupiter, is in in the SR 12th(About to SQUARE SR Uranus)...and you know what Uranus means.

Wilson is sooooo right at transits!
Transiting PLUTO is closely aspecting your MC(Career), that it *has* to be effected! But Pluto is Trining(Supporting) MC,
so it's a helpful influence in the end.

I hope that doesn't all sound scary or anything, just that it's going to be a year that shakes you up with unexpected events.
Please keep an eye on your health NOW, to avoid stress related problems later (nerves are a Uranus speciality)...Meditate, eat more B-vitamins, turn this years energy toward a humanitarian cause you believe in, and don't be stuck on old beliefs.

Well any questions please email me, I'm no expert just trying to help.

Pluto, to Holly

Holly,

Yes, I was talking about transits which have been going on for some time now and which are now lessening. My experience with transits has been that they tend to build and then slowly fade away...the longer the planetary cycle, the longer the build and fade away. Pluto is a VERY slow moving planet and takes a LONG time to fade away.

Plutonically fading,

Tim

Re: Is it a good idea to quit?

I'm with Tim, getting out of dodge might be the best thing to do.

You've got Jupiter about to work it's way into your 6th house (service, work, health) which shows better things to come about in the areas of the services and work you personally perform. The 10th is the career, but the 6th is the work each of us personally performs.

Unless I've got your chart wrong (27Aries32 MC?) you'll be having a Mars/Pluto conjunction in almost exact trine to your midheaven on 1/13/2007, while Saturn T-squares your Lunar Nodes in close orb. What that says to me is the pressure you are currently experiencing will likely peak in the first couple of weeks of 2007. If you're not doing what you want to do, and you're experiencing health problems, what's in it for you? I wouldn't call the Mars/Pluto trine to the MC friendly, either. That is some difficult energy, strong enough to rip you free of anything in your way by various means and methods.

You might be able to ride it out, and see some relief come soon enough, but you do risk Pluto getting a little more extreme about pushing you to be your authentic self. Personally, I'd be more concerned with being true to yourself than trying to ride out pressures, but that one's up to you. How much trouble would it cause you to quit and move on? If the answer is "not much!" then you've just answered your question

edit to add: 6th is also our personal health, Jupiter moving into that house is definitly a positive thing, could indicate better health conditions... But don't think that means you can handle more stress and escape the consequences! Stress is a killer, avoid it at all costs.

Re: Is it a good idea to quit?

Thank you to all of you for helping me with this one. It's been tough so I appreciate the guidance.

I have decided to quit, and will be handing in my resignation by the end of the week. I really feel this is the best thing for me to do. I am exhausted both emotionally and mentally.

Right now I really need to rest and gather my strength.

I have no idea of how I am going to cope next year with what is going on astrologically. I don't think I have the strength to face it. But maybe once I'm in a better state of mind, it won't look so scary.

Thanks everyone for helping me through this. I didn't ask the question out of mere curiosity, I really needed your astrological knowledge and advice!! And you guys helped a lot, so thanks.
