Yes, there are explicit statements in a number of works that say so. Zael comes to mind.

I assume direct Directions to be with the order of Signs, that is Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries etc, while converse Directions are against the order of Signs, moving Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Libra etc.

I have seen people swap that terminology, using direct Directs as against the order of Signs and converse Directions with the order of Signs, but I don't really see where that makes a difference. Bot Directions are valid.

The same. A Significator is a Significator, and a Promissor is a Promissor.

Okay. Usually the Ascendant for general events, the MC for things that affect your status and the Sun for fame and recognition. I also use the Preventional and Conjunctional Moons, plus a few others, like the Hyleg, Alcocoden and Anareta. Some people use Lot of Fortune, but I don't. Fortuna usually shows unexpected things that are usually good.

Some things to pay attention to when directing. Suppose you direct the Ascendant to the opposition of Mars, and Mars would be at 14° Aries. Your opposition will be at 14° Libra (and that's where you direct the Ascendant to), so look at the Term Ruler which would be Jupiter (I think) and give you an idea who good or bad it will be. You should also look to see if another Planet aspects that Term. For example if Natal Mercury is at 12° Leo then Mercury makes a sextile to the Term of Jupiter. It's just a way of judging how bad a "bad event" will be or how good a "good event" will be. Or maybe a "bad event" really isn't all that bad (although it isn't really good either).

Re: Primary directions

Where is the chart please? are you asking about solar arc movements, secondary progressions or something different??

Solar Arcs
Solar arcs are really simple, especially for beginners, just move the Angles, Asc, Desc, MC, IC 1' for each year of your life onto planets and vice versa. Not just used for rectification either. Under age 12 though these interpretations are directed towards family changes, maybe relocation, job changes, illnesses, additions to family etc. Another example is my Pluto is 28' Leo in 7th house and my Uranus is 3' Leo in same house to subtract these and you get age 25. That year my then husband and I had an almighty explosion (Uranus) and transformation (Pluto) of that marriage that started the demise and ultimate ending thereof....

· Transiting Pluto square, conj opp Asc, Desc, MC, IC
· If under 12’ when it conj an Angle then their age was under age 12 it’s parents adjustments. A death, change within father’s work, a separation, remarriage.
· Adults or teens, 1st job, identity transformation MC.
· Pluto conj Desc = death, health concerns, geographic, significant relationship or break up, but has to be ‘life transforming’
· Also try transiting Neptune, something dissolving, disappearing, confusing etc.
· Timings of transits… is it the 1st hit? More often it’s the middle retrograde hit… but could be the last direct hit also. 1’ =4minutes in time.
