Are transits of the north node important in prediction, do you use them? What are they supposed to bring through transit?

No, they belong to the person born on that day as their past life scenario etc. and path this time around..........If the transitting north node hits your natal north node I am wondering if some event may occur pertinent to the description of it.... but really I dont think so.

Claire19 and I differ on this point (but you should give considerable thought to her viewpoint-in my opinion Claire19 is a top level Modernist practitioner and offers a free basic course which beginners would do well to check into)

I consider NN (as well as SN) ingresses and transits to be quite significant. In addition to many in Western astrology who also share this opinion of the nodes and the importance of their transits/ingresses, this is also the universal opinion of Vedic astrology (jyotish), where full "planetary status" is accorded to the nodes (which Vedic astrology calls Rahu-for the NN-and Ketu-for the SN or "Dragon's Tail")
