Is my place of work damaging my health?

Hi

I come home from work feeling like I've smoked a packet of cigarettes! I don't smoke now, but I used to. The air con system I think is really old, and I notice myself coughing more, like a dry cough. I was fine before I started in that building. I also notice the other people coughing but they tend to brush it off. I recover at the weekends, with fresh air, but back to work on Monday start the dry cough again. I can smell a metalic stuffy smell in the air. I woke up feeling unwell today, and feel its because of that air con system in the office.

Venus is strong in Libra, though moving into the 12th house, weakening slightly
Mars is very weak, in it's sign of detriment, and cadent in the 12th house. Does this mean there is something wrong that I cannot see?

Venus conjuncting Mars, what does that mean? Does Venus give strength to Mars, or does Mars take it away from Venus.

Recent combustion of Moon in the 10th house, this suggests that yes the work place is damaging my health.

Venus is also stuck between two malefics, she has nowhere to go. This is very accurate as I am stuck in this job, or at least I think I'm stuck, as I haven't got another job to go to. Yet, my health is more important than some temporary job.

Ascendant is in via combusta, but conjunct fixed star Arcturus which is a very fortunate star - success through work, fame ect, nothing about health though.

Also, Mars(health) is in the Sun's (work) fall, Sun is in Mars exhaltation, thats an uneven reception. This suggests that the answer is a 'yes'.

If anyone has any input I'd be grateful.

I'm very weak on medical astrology, but just a few things I can point out.

The Significators for any questions (and also natal) regarding a general state of health or specific health issues are the 1st, 4th, 6th, 8th and 12th House Rulers.

You're looking for conjunctions, squares and oppositions between those House Rules and the Querent's Significator.

Everyone used an offset. Lily and others used a 5° offset for all house cusps, while Bonatii and others used 8° for angles, 5° for succedent houses and 3° for cadent houses.

Even though Venus and Saturn are physically posited in the 11th House, everyone would consider them to be in the 12th House and read them so.

It's possible, since the general meaning of the 12th House are those things that are hidden. I'd be more convinced if Planets were intercepted in the 12th House, or if there was a Planet blocking the light of another, or Frustration or something else, but I'm not sure you can completely dismiss the symbolism of the 12th House.

Venus is the only friend Mars has.

A conjunction between Mars and Venus with Mars ruling the 6th and Venus ruling the 1st and 8th, and the conjunction taking place in the 12th House, I'd say the answer to your question is "yes."

Venus is besieged and the only saving grace here is that she is in the House of Venus, and that Venus is the Dispositor of both Mars and Saturn.

By the way, your sentiment of being "stuck" is echoed by the Moon Combust Sun (powerless) in the 10th House. That's your status for the most part and also how you feel about the job.

It's Mars/Jupiter and they have to be activated. With the Ascendant Ruler Venus about to conjunct Mars, I'd say Arcturus has been activated.

It does look like a yes, maybe moreso as Venus disposits Mars and Saturn and is in the 12th house, so it's weakened by being cadent and hidden?

I see what you mean about the fixed stars being activated. Would that mean that this job would bring me that sort of success, if I stayed? The contract ends 1st Sept but I'm thinking of a way to leave early now as it seems to be affecting my health.

Every House as a "resident tenant." It goes by the Order of Planets:

Saturn
Jupiter
Mars
Sun
Venus

Moon

You go through each House then start over so:

Saturn: 1st
Jupiter: 2nd
Mars: 3rd
Sun: 4th
Venus: 5th
Mercury: 6th
Moon: 7th
Saturn: 8th
Jupiter: 9th

Venus: 12th

The 12th House is the House of Venus, it's a form of Accidental Dignity.

The 12th House is also the Joy of Saturn, so that's a form of Accidental Dignity, except Saturn revels in misery and more misery and solitude and anything 12th House-ish.

Venus & Saturn are in rulership and exaltation, so they're quite strong despite being Cadent and the worst house (the 12th).

Personally, I believe that if Libra would be intercepted in the 12th House, then through this Horary you would have just discovered that your health is being effected, but since you suspect it is, Libra is not intercepted, but the symbolism of things hidden in the 12th House is that there is a problem (and no, you probably aren't imagining things -- here in the US the phrase is "sick building" -- a building that makes people sick -- it's usually harmful mold and/or mildew growing in the ventilation ducts and the mold/mildew spores which can be harmful and which some people have allergies is spread).

Um, seriously? The 12th House is also the House of Separation. I think you need to leave that job.

I think the implication of Arcturus is that you'd be successful in another (or any) endeavor.

Thanks very much Bob, I've never really learned much about the meaning of interceptions except that they can show something being stuck. I'm curious to do more research now.

Thanks for the explaination of Arcturus, gives me encouragement. I gotta leave there as soon as I can! Interesting too of the accidental dignity houses..

I think it's crazy what people put up with, they have these coughs at work and yet brush it off, or put up with it. What happened to good old fashioned fresh air from the open windows - instead of chemically old enhanced air...? I haven't been sick for a few years now, yet after a few months of working in the building I get a cough and a slight temperature.

The other horary chart I did in the career section also said I'd be better off with the job ending.

Maybe with the Part of Fortune in the first, and Moon sextile that in 7 degrees, something fortunate happens.. Maybe that's the end of the job also as Moon leaves Leo.
