NEW MOON and HERMES
Hermes (Mercury, the ruler of Gemini) was precocious at birth. Within twenty-four hours, he had invented and learned how to play a new musical instrument, gotten bored with it and cast it aside, and then, looking for something new to do, had gone out and stolen some of Apollo's cattle. He disguised their trail by dragging them backwards by their tails, making it look as though they were walking the other way. He then returned to the cave in which he had been born and hid within the swaddling clothes of his infancy in an effort to deceive the God of Prophecy (Apollo) from determining the truth. Apollo was not deceived however and demanded they submit the case to Zeus (Jupiter), who was amused by his new son's audacity, but made him confess the crime and give back the cattle. After Hermes and Apollo returned to the cave, the newborn casually picked up the Lyre he had tossed aside and began to play. Apollo was so enchanted with the music he forgot his earlier concerns, whereupon Hermes gave him the Lyre as a present. The two have been fast friends ever since. As they walk the halls of Olympus together, one is never far from the other.
This New Moon in Gemini will display some of the youthful characteristics demonstrated by the myth. Because the conjunction is in the early degrees of Gemini, it is strong and vital. People will be more talkative, curious and inventive. This can be spent gabbing the day away, reading a book, or making a list and getting the items checked off. There is energy in your ideas. What do you want to do with them?
The New Moon occurs at 8:10 AM EDT on Sunday, May 23rd at 3 degrees and 27 minutes of Gemini. This moment was recorded by CDT as 7:10 AM, MDT as 6:10 AM, and PDT as 5:10 AM.

The power of this New Moon is strong as indicated by our opening lines, but Mercury remains retrograde. There is much energy, thought and initiative that can now be shown, but we are still reviewing matters, attempting to get things ready for what is to come. We may be waiting for communications, stock, or confirmation. There could be some cost involved in getting the supplies or situation ready, but it can be wisely spent on essential items at this time. Some of the delays and uncertainties of the last few days are beginning to be put behind us.
The tightest alignments to the New Moon are the inconjunct to Pluto (just past), and the square to Ceres (yet to come). Our time has been tight, and finances may be in short supply, but these issues are fading. We are so focused on our own designs that we are not eating the best nutrition over the next few days (Ceres in Virgo). Fast food may be quick and easy, but it's not very good for you. Allow a little time to digest after meals. Microwaved food is not the same after it comes out of the oven. Eat fresh foods cooked in conventional manners. Stay away from foods prepared in Teflon and forget soda. Yes it takes a little longer to prepare and cook.
You're worth it.
We can squeeze one other aspect out of this New Moon, tighter than the alignments to Pluto and Ceres, and that's the trine to the North Lunar Node. What is being discussed or talked about now is quite popular in the public opinion. It's a good time to gather information, and people are willing to help us obtain and figure out our requests.
There can be some magical moments in the works for those who parlay this energy wisely over the next few days. The first alignment following the New Moon later this afternoon is a lunar quintile to Uranus, which signals interest, novelty, and some exciting connections. In addition, as the Moon finishes its work in Gemini Monday evening, it will trine all the late planets in Aquarius (both Air signs), opening up new networks, understanding and group cooperation.
That's the way, un-huh, un-huh, we like it.
Just as this is happening, Mars will be sextiling the same three planets in late Aquarius on Tuesday and Wednesday, indicating that it is time to take action. (Once again) gather your information and get going on what needs to happen. You know how all the points add up, so what are you waiting for?

NEEDS OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT
On Tuesday evening, June 2nd at 6 PM, Peg Robbins and I will be offering an interpretation regarding the changes that are forthcoming and what to do about them. We will gather in the Sunderland Library (MA) between 5:30 and 6:00 and begin with a short visual presentation on the changing star patterns, past, present and future. The myths and legends of people around the world have followed these motions carefully and long held them in high regard. They observed this trail across time and their recollections spoke of many of the events now taking place.
In various traditions, there has been left a record of great changes that would one day unfold. The Hopi speak of the end of the Third World and the beginning of a Fourth. The Norse sang songs of Ragnarok, the Bible Armageddon. The Maya whispered volumes by marking the end of their current calendar, signaling the conclusion of their cycle of five ages.
This much is clear: investigation has shown this is not the end of the world, it is the end of a period and of a way of doing things. Hierarchies and priorities are getting ready to shift. The old trails are not our path to the future. Tradition is getting ready to take a hard right turn.
Having outlined some of the framework, Peg will then use her intuitive gifts to share with us a few helpful hints about what we can expect, how to prepare and what to do. Space is limited and we hope to offer a second presentation later this summer, but be sure to come early.
A donation of $10 is being asked. The library has requested that we be out of the building with everything returned to its proper place by 7:50 PM. The room only holds about fifty people, and folks will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We are preparing for the changes that will bring about the healing of the planet.
