Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

I cannot find any good websites that explain how the Davidson Chart is erected. I've been using the Composite chart.

Does anyone have any input on the difference of these two charts?

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

The composite chart is a blending of the energies of same planets. It is a mid point between the two charts... a sort of where we meet in the middle. The chart is for the relationship itself. It shows what is easy to work on and what the pitfalls would be. You can take the individual charts and compare it to the composite in a synastry way.

The Davidson is based on the mid point of time and space. The location, date, and time will be the midpoint and the basis. Don't be surprised to find the location in an ocean if you were born far apart. With the Davidson, having coordinates allows you to calculate additional charts such as Solar Arcs, Personas... treating it more as an individual. The best way to read the chart is with the house placement associations. Look at the Lord of each cusp and where it lies in the chart to get an understanding of how that house plays out.

Astrodienst (www.astro.com) has both types of charts. Keep in mind that the time on the Davidson is Universal time and you will have to figure out the average timezone for the coordinate youself, if you are to do additional Davidson chart readings.

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

Oh, your explanation was the first that I've read that makes sense. Thank you!

Now all that I'm left with is wondering if choosing a date in between two people's birth dates (and time and place) would be an accurate chart for those two people. Hmmmmm. This is a completely new concept. This will take a lot of pondering, LOL.

The composite chart is very accurate (choosing the midpts beween all planets).

But picking the midpts between places times and dates? Hmmmmmmmm.

Has anyone else had great success with this chart? Just as much as the composite chart?

Hmm, since I'm new to this, I may be asking a question you already clearly explained, but I want to make sure I understand.

Are you saying that I need to manually calculate the time between the different time zones if I want to just look at the Davidson Chart on Astro.com?

No, just later on if you want to do more with the Davidson you do get. The one from Astro will be fine to use. If you want to run a progression or Solar Arc on it, then calculate the time back.

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

How can you say it's "fine" if it's not presented in the correct time zone for its location? ???

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

Kai and I sort of said the same thing.. .. yes and no....give me some time and I will post an example of what is going on... in the mean time, put in your data to Astro and the chart that is kicked out will be okay to use.

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

I prefer the Davison, since it's a real horoscope. I don't think the Composite is accurate at all, since it's a fake horoscope. Basically, you can have configurations in a Composite chart that can't really happen. Sun Trine Venus, for example. Can't happen, but they can in Composite.

Davison is much better. Since it's a real horoscope, you can progress it or get a transit chart and solar return chart for it. Good luck getting that for a Composite chart. Relationships are things that grow and change, just like the people involved in them. So I don't see how the Composite can really be considered seriously since there's no way to realistically change it up for predictive purposes.

That and the Davison chart between my boyfriend and I had Jupiter come within orb of our Fourth the DAY we heard about getting our apartment. That's all I needed to see.

Yes. For some reason astro.com won't look into changing it, I've e-mailed them about it. You have to find where the location for the Davison falls, what time zone, and then just adjust for the time zone the location for the chart falls into.

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

Hey Kai, why can't Sun Trine Venus?

Re: Davidson Chart or Composite Chart?

Because she can't be more than 47° away from Sol.
