Military Career

Hello everybody. I use to watch this forum a long time ago. I studied astrology for some years but I'm a little out now. I'm brazilian and I passed the exams to the Military Academy (Army) from here and I'll join it in a couple of months. I'd really enjoy some insights on my birth chart regarding military career, what could I develop, future expectations... anything.

My birth information: 19:03 (-3 GMT)/ Oct 11 1988 - Brazil, Rio de Janeiro (22s53 043w10)

My chart has Taurus rising at 4º.

Oh sure, I didn't know I could attach files.

In my long journey to self-discovery I came to a conclusion. I cannot determine the exact career I must choose just by looking at the natal chart. The human being is much more complex than that. If one looks at my chart he can say " hmm... libra sun in the sixth house, moon in scorpio conjunct descendent... well he would give a nice psychologist..." or maybe "libra sun, taurus rising... close trine between venus (5th house) and neptune... artistic abilities...etc". Anyway, I think that the chart, most importantly, gives clues about the kind of person he will be at any work he chooses, the opportunities, triggered by the transits and progressions and some natural abilities. I think that, as an army officer, I will pursue justice and balance (sun/mercury in libra and mars sextile jupiter); I might use/introduce inventive/unconventional approach to my work (Aquarius in Midheaven with Pallas conjunct); might be a passional orator/motivator to my soldiers (mercury conjunction sun); i have good stamina and persistence in physical activities (taurus rising and mars in aries and in square with saturn); I intend to be a very operational officer (mars in aries; moon in scorpio; rulers of the tenth in the eight; mars aspecting many planets...).

This was just a briefing of how I see, but it would be very nice to view other people's opinions.


Oh, and that's a great way of serving (sun in sixth house) my country (ruler of the fourth house).

As regards a military career, well, I looked for any aspects from Mars (the warrior, so to speak) to the MC (career), and there it was, a nice sextile between the two. Note also that you have an essentially dignified Mars in Aries (sign of the army/military), which is packed with high-voltage energy and ever ready for action and the 'march ahead'. Aquarius on the MC could indicate some trouble in relation to too much discipline, regimentation and sticking to rules (Aquarius is quite au contrair), all of which is quite mundane in military training and life; but it could be, as you said, that you might simply approach your career unconventionally. The air sign Aquarius also loves the skies and flying, so the Air Force could have been one of the main options, but you have already stated the army. You, however, will need your own freedom and space in your job. You also have Pluto aspecting your MC, which could indicate that you will look for power in your profession, or could have problems with power and manipulation yourself, esp as the aspect is a challenging one - a square. So, you might feel most comfortable in being your own boss (Aquarian MC and Pluto aspecting it), or perhaps even that of the others. You also have a nice and tight trine between Jupiter and your MC, which indicates that you will have a fair amount of good fortune to expand and grow in your career. Your profession should also bring you monetary benefits with Jupiter located in the 2nd house of personal finances.

To make the military a career is an honorable thing to do. I am retired navy. Nice to see that Mars is in trine to your MC. I have my Mars in Tarus and just 8 degrees from MC. It has been a whirl-wind career and nothing to regret. I wish you the best. V/r LionKing

Thank you for your answers. Lion king, I was in doubt between navy and army, but for few reasons I chose the army. Aquarius7000, I liked your insight, just expect to have no problems with superiority. I think I can handle, the only problem is injustice (to me and others), I hate it.
