What does Jupiter in Cancer mean for me and will my living h--l ever end?

I was born July 2, 1955 at 9:42 P.M. EDT in Hagerstown, Maryland USA. I need some answers and have no money to pay a professional astrologer or psychic. Here is my story.

My father (born July 20, 1915 in Zullinger, PA) and mother (born March 20, 1921 near Chambersburg, PA) were married for 14 years before I was born. Very early in their marriage they had a son and a daughter. My brother (may 26, 1942) and sister (September 16, 1943) each lived only 3 hours. I too was born very premature (due August 22, 1955) and they almost lost me a few times in the early weks. All this made Mom and Dad very very over-protective and over-sheltering in ways that were not always good. I grew up with a lot of fears about the world around me.

School was very difficult for me as a child with some of my fears and my teachers' attitudes. I also grew up with a very strong fear of failure. Though I have now largely overcome them, my fears have over the years kept me from working and from really having a life.

I won't bore you with all the details but beginning in February, 2000 I have now had just over 13 years of absolute total living h--l of one thing after another and another and another back to back each thing as devestating and stressful as the stroke my had.

On top of that For 15 years from 1997 to 2012 I was primary caregiver for my parents and during most of that time caregiving made employment impossible. I am an only child and had no one to fall back on.

I lost Dad Fabruary 26, 2001. Mom was even then having significant health issues and told people were it not for me she would even then have been in a care facility like a nursing home. On April 24, 2008 Mom suffered a massive stroke that paralyzed her entire left side and caused swallowing problems. The nursing home provided extremely poor care. They refused to follow any of her stroke specialist's orders and even refused to regard them as being a doctor's orders. As a result her recovery was very poor. An independent therapist told us if the nursing home had followed her doctor's orders Mom would have made far more progress and had a much higher quality of life.

In August 2010 I brought Mom home from the nursing home and cared for her here at home. Hospice provided about 6 hours per week. I did all the rest. I lost Mom on October 10, 2012.

Now at almost 58 years of age I have no job, no income, I am years out of the job market, burned out, worn out, and stressed out from all I've been through. I now am faced with losing everything I have including my 3 pet cats and my home and of having nothing at all. Since Mom passed in October I have been trying to find a job, not easy at 57 or 58 and 15 years out of the job market, and so far I can't find anything. And I am burne, worn, and stressed out. Understandably there are times I just want it to all be over.

I have had some positive feelings about Jupiter's move now into Cancer and what that might mean for me. I look at what all I have been through for years and at what I now am facing and I say that somehow h--l has to end, it can't go on and get even worse. H--l has to end.

What does anyone see in my chart or what can anyone tell me? As I said, I do feel some hope with Jupiter's move into my natal sign of Cancer. I have also read some things about for example a Grand Water Trine and other astrological things in the end of June and through July.

What is the best positive way for me to work with energies such as Jupiter in Cancer and the other astrological things coming up? I really have had a very long very rough period of years. I'm not sure what to do or which way to go and I'm hoping astrology can provide at least a few answers. Many thanks to anyone and every one who can help me find some answers.

Your Sun is in Cancer and your Saturn is in Scorpio. When Jupiter moves through Cancer it will be making a conjunction to your Sun (10 cancer) and then a trine to your Saturn (14 Scorpio). The conjunction to the Sun will occur mid August 2013 for the first time (it comes back 2 more times). As the Sun is expressed through your 6th house of work, I suspect that it will open up some opportunities for you. The Jupiter trine to Saturn transit occurs shortly after in mid-September and may indicate another step towards employment. Saturn is expressed through the 9th house linking higher education/travel to the next steps in your life.

The next times that Jupiter conjuncts your sun will be in February and March of 2014 with February being a re-visting of the situation, and March being the final resolution. The trine to Saturn plays out in January and April 2014 with January being the re-visting of the situation and April being the final resolution.

Complicating this somewhat is what is know as a "Saturn return". This means that Saturn is returning to it's position at your birth. This occurs roughly every 28 years -- at 28 and at about 56. This happens to everyone, sometimes a bit earlier, sometimes a bit later.

At 28, it is a time that a person becomes an adult and leaves behind the child, we take on responsibility, the children, the house and the careers.

At 56, the adult that we have become has broken down, we have had our failings in life and dreams that have gone astray, our health may have failed us, the chinks are appearing in our armor, we have already accomplished much of what we will in our lives and yet, we have to find the purpose to continue. Your Saturn will conjunct it's natal position in November of this year. Expect that this will be a time of reflection and honestly adjusting the expectations for the next 30 years. It sounds like you have already been experiencing much of turmoil that can come with this configuration.

Next July 2014, Jupiter will be conjuncting it's natal position of 3 Leo. Jupiter rules the 11th house of friendships and is being expressed through the 7th house of relationships ... could be quite a few meanings here but, one meaning could be that a friendship turns into a business partnership or a personal one.

Hey RES,

To figure out if any one transit is going to be important at any given time, you're going to have to utilize some form of time lord technique to figure out what planet is going to be activated. As you may have noticed, many transits are misfires and don't produce anything. I usually use annual profections, and by using that system at 58 you'll be within an 11th house profection year. The unfortunate part here is I look at natals in whole sign houses, and the 11th sign from your Ascendant is Scorpio, but you seem to use Placidius houses and that assigns Sagittarius as the sign on the 11th house cusp, so it's difficult to say.

In my opinion Mars is going to be your Lord of the year, so transits from Mars to points within your natal chart and transits from other planets to your natal Mars are going to be important. As far as the topic of this thread goes, Jupiter isn't going to have much to say until it gets to the conjunction of your natal Mars in June of 2014.

I got my chart online. I don't know how to clean up the chart and repost it. All I know how to do is download it from the site I got it from and then how to upload it here as it is. Thanks for letting me know.

I see way too much personal info. For your own protection, privacy, security and peace of mind, please sanitize the chart by removing your personal data and re-post it.

Kudos on your dedication to caregiving...I too remain under this situation [husband's mother] and am all too familiar with the toll that takes on a person. So sorry for the loss of your mother and your current hardships. I do sympathize with you on being unnerved by a lack of financial resources; I have been in your position in my own past, after losing my parents early too. In particular, Saturn has been transiting thru the sign of Scorpio, since late last year; this has been the source of much tribulation and crisis for many people; for you, this means that you are moving towards your second Saturn Return; once again, the time for review and restructuring. How were you affected by the first Saturn Return? Jupiter to Cancer; all matters pertaining to family, the parents and your experiences from the past, which must now be integrated into the psyche, after these past troublesome uphill battles. Vibrations from your 6th house, show the potential for improvement of your situation thanks to the positive energies of Saturn to Sun, and Mars, natally; of course potential opportunities or benefits are apt to relate to either employment or health. Jupiter's upcoming transits include: conjunct Sun[Identity and Role in life]; trine natal Saturn [maturity, stability, achievement, security and wisdom applied from past experience]. T0 me this all spells achievement/accomplishment in some way; being accredited or honored; new directions in life; grounded sense of security and stability; in essence, benefiting from service done in the past. The accolades of Jupiter in Cancer relate to family loyalty, charity [giving of the self], faith, trust, spiritual immersion, optimism, the spirit of generosity and giving [an opportunity to give back to the community]; Increased understanding of your personal family dynamics and how that has influenced your life; emotional balance; benefits through the parents. Are there ways for you to offer healing to others; explore your creativity; come to terms with your past? Would you mind explaining the experiences you have endured relating to your primary challenges in life, as per Moon/Venus/Mercury and Neptune squaring Mars, Uranus and Jupiter... Problems with low self-esteem or Identity issues; Identity issues; trouble with the law or superiors; deception, secrecy, betrayal, false accusations...emotional limitations and problems; would be happy to have your input on that...I do sympathize with you on being unnerved by a lack of financial resources; I have been in your position in my own past, after losing my parents early too. May fortune and prosperity now shine down upon you, and may you be blessed with peace and a renewed sense of courage and hope. FYI...to someone who advised you to sanitize your chart, this is ludicrous; we need to have all your birth data for making our projections into the future. without that information, there can be no accurate assessment of the chart.

Hi Res

I am really sorry for the loss of your mum, and father. It sounds like such a tough time you have been through. I will only add a little about what I feel about your chart, specifically I agree with Kimbermoon in the suggestion to work in a care giving kind of role. Mars rules your 10th house, and in Cancer in the 6th. Jupiter moving through that house may bring renewed faith and belief in your natural talents, namely to do with the Sun and Mars. On top of that, following the Jupiter in Cancer, you will have a Jupiter return, which in itself may bring further renewal in your faith in yourself.

As this is the traditional thread, you may want to post or link to this thread in the predictive forum, where we can discuss other planets that are considered 'non traditional'.

I believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel, for you. It may be, the Saturn return will, as already mentioned, be a time of review and assimilation of all that has been. From there, the Jupiter to planets such as Mars and Jupiter return in Leo will be happening. Have patience with the Saturn return process - just as a side note, Saturn only passes over its natal position once in this return.

Saturn only passes over its natal position once in this return.
...a mild correction in this; there are often 2 Saturn Returns for many individuals; the first occurs around the age of 30; then it will return again at age 60; there are many of us now experiencing a second return. Someone who surpasses the age of 90 will experience a third one...it is all an age-thing.

Sorry, I should have been clearer, I mean in this pass, Saturn will not go retrograde over the OP's natal position, as in some transits the planet passes direct, goes retrograde, then goes direct making a total of 3 passes in it's transit. I have read somewhere that if it passes only once in the specific transit, it makes the learning easier, or less drawn out. Whereas, if the planet makes 3 contacts, it is a longer process to go through.

Saturn, in this conjunction to natal Saturn, will be at 14 degrees Scorpio only once, this time around.

RES, you said that you became primary care taker for your parents in 1997. Did that happen between June and August of that year?

I am so sorry for your loss. I believe that astrology does have the answers, that when it comes to predicting actual events and the life of the native traditional astrology will get you there far better. Welcome to the forum and happy almost birthday.

If you would like to make your chart anonymous, just scroll down at astro where you first made the chart. When you get to the bottom, there is an option for that. It removes your name. If you really wanted to make it tough, take out the outer planets. Why? Because anyone with an ephemeris can pinpoint a birth date when they are presented on the chart. Why again? Because they move so slowly that all you have to do is search for "when was Pluto in this degree in in this sign" and you've got it.

Kai, remember that we profect the ASC through the signs. In July this year the ASC profects to Scorpio. It doesn't matter where the individual house cusps fall. And I agree, next year (2014) the ASC will get to Sagittarius.

By annual profection Mars is Lord of the year. I didn't do the calculations myself (I had like 8 minutes) but, Saturn is also active this year. Why? Because he resides in Scorpio in the natal, and planets in houses are more important that house rulers. Are we not looking at a second Saturn return?

We want to look at the house Mars is posited in in the natal, plus any houses he rules to see where the effects of his transits will manifest. We also want to look at the houses Saturn rules by domicile and exaltation, to further see what areas of life would be impacted.

Once you determine the time lords by profection, you want to make a Solar return chart. This way, you can compare their state to the natal, and see how their rulership will go. You also want to compare them to the ruler of the ASC in the Solar Return, and look at the conditon of all the significators. Mars in the 2013 return chart is in Gemini, in joy in the 6th house. He's in aversion the the ASC ruler (Saturn) in the SR chart though...and I've used up my eight minutes.

Res...

Without being able to fully detail the hows and whys, I still agree with Kai in that this may not be your year, but the next could. And...occupy your mind with the study of astrology. Because it...is truly fabulous. And remember, the Universe wants you to be happy, and hung the stars in such a way as to help you figure out how.

I have had some positive feelings about Jupiter's move now into Cancer and what that might mean for me.

You said your ordeal started 12 years ago....when Jupiter transited Cancer.

Did you have "positive feelings" then? How'd that work out over the last 12 years?

I mention that, because some have very silly ideas about Transits that are wrong. If you're expecting a Jupiter transit of Cancer to grant you a reprieve or change your life, that just isn't going to happen.

I look at what all I have been through for years and at what I now am facing and I say that somehow h--l has to end, it can't go on and get even worse. H--l has to end.

Well, no, Jupiter is your Age Ruler at present.

What does anyone see in my chart or what can anyone tell me?

I use a slight variation of the method used by ibn Ezra to calculate the Chart Ruler, because we have a disagreement on how much power/influence certain Houses actually have. 9 times out of 10, we agree on the Chart Ruler, but it's that 1 time that makes a difference. In your case, we both agree that Jupiter is the Chart Ruler.

Since Jupiter is both the Chart Ruler and Age Ruler, it stands to reason we should look at Jupiter in your Natal Chart.

Jupiter is weak in your Chart.

Jupiter is enclosed by both Malefics -- Saturn & Mars --- by both Sign and Degree; Jupiter is in the 8th Sign, making him inconjunct the Ascendant, and in the Bound of Saturn (so Saturn receives Jupiter). The good things about Jupiter is that he is in his own Triplicity, and he's in a Degree of Increasing Fortune, which negates a lot of the bad things, and that leaves Jupiter weak, instead of being wholly Unfortunate.

So if you're expecting Jupiter to save you or make your life better, that just isn't gonna happen, except maybe when Saturn comes to the 12 House in your Profected Chart -- where Saturn Joys -- and Jupiter is Angular in the 10th House.

In fact, all of your Planets are weak or Unfortunate: Moon with Head in 12th Sign, Saturn Retrograde, Mercury/Venus with Tail, Mars in Cancer and Sun is Peregrine and Azieme, your Ascendant Point is in a Pitted Degree, most of your Lots are ruled by Unfortunate Saturn, with your Lot of Fortune ruled by Peregrine Azieme Sun, plus you have Capricorn/Aquarius in the 12th to 2nd House region of the Chart (with Saturn Unfortunate), so no, I don't doubt for a moment that you have had an hard life.

As I said, I do feel some hope with Jupiter's move into my natal sign of Cancer. I have also read some things about for example a Grand Water Trine and other astrological things in the end of June and through July.

That's all very fascinating and a Grand Water Trine sounds very pretty, but it's just a lot of babbling.

You do realize that when Transiting Jupiter perfects a trine to Unfortunate Retrograde Saturn, that takes place a 14° Leo which is an Empty Azieme Degree, but also a Degree of Increasing Fortune, so it's like a Pyrrhic Victory, or taking 1 step forward and 2 steps backward, well, actually more like 2 steps forward and 5 steps backward, and there is no Reception there, so your Grand Water Trine is going to evaporate and be like a Grand Stain.

Would you be willing to share how you do it? I've experimented with the "classically accepted by today's traditional astrologers" way of finding the Lord of the Geniture as well as with the method outlined by Schmidt for finding the Kurios of the nativity. And those don't always agree either. :annoyed:

on 13th July 2013, your Progressed Moon enters your first house ... I think this is a very good sign that things are about to move out of being deep, and slow and contemplative, and become movement forward and much more positive.
Given your considerable experiences in caring - do you think you might be interested in being a speaker for other carers? Offering advice? Or even empathy even if you don't feel like you could offer advice? (empathy cannot be under-valued for those who are finding themselves living in positions of being the carer of the elderly, ill or disabled).
Perhaps look at your local community college (sorry not sure what they are called in USA - but hopefully you know what I mean?)
If you are interested - maybe start looking on line and in the newspaper for advertisements for such positions? And see where they might lead to?
Please update - and let us know how things go over the coming months.
