Tropical Sun/Asc/Moon Signs compared with Sidereal Sun/Asc/Moon Signs

Most members have created a free natal tropical chart on Free Horoscopes astro.com so these are some instructions for newcomers who have not previously created a sidereal natal chart and are interested in doing so:

Having already created a tropical natal chart then scroll down to “Horoscope Chart Drawings” and select “Extended Chart Selection” - on that page, under “Options” it is possible to choose the Zodiac of a natal chart.

Clicking on “Western geocentric (tropical) a pop up menu appears on which is written: “Please select the options below only if you really know what you are doing” and you then notice that each one of the five choices offered as “WARNING” written before it. Choosing either (a) Fagan/Bradley geocentric (sidereal) or (b) Hindu/Lahiri geocentric (sidereal) allows you to create your free sideral zodiac chart.

It is a good idea to create three free natal charts – (1) Western geocentric (tropical) (2) Fagan/Bradley geocentric (sidereal) (3) Hindu/Lahiri geocentric (sidereal) and save them for reference

Your sidereal charts show a Sun Sign, Ascendant Sign and Moon Sign that is approximately 24ºearlierthan your Western geocentric tropical chart.

The two
sidereal charts are usually very similar but there may be slight differences because each one uses a slightly different “ayanamsa”

“Ayanamsa” = angle sidereal ecliptic longitude is less than tropical ecliptic longitude = 24° (N. C. Lahiri says 23.85° in 2000). Value shows coincidence of sidereal/tropical 293 AD - compatible with Ptolemy fixing Western tropical zodiac 3rd century.

sidereal ecliptic longitude is defined by "fixed" stars.
tropical ecliptic longitude is defined by vernal equinox point.

Since vernal equinox precesses westwards 50".29 yearly related to fixed stars, longitude of fixed body defined with respect to it increases slowly. Since stars "do not move" (ignores the effect of proper motion) longitude of fixed body defined related to them will never change.
