They are not to be used for just any purpose. Individuals are to select their own goals deliberatively. Then the mind and body are to be used to those ends that are chosen. The failing is thinking that having a want is the same thing as having an ideal. People want many things for bad reasons. That is why people can irrationally want things that are destructive to them. Obviously, that kind of desire isn't good for the individual nor society. Therefore, individuals that operate on that kind of desire cannot be trusted, alone or in groups. Oneness is the real goal; the Unity of all people and all things. When we work for the good of the whole, everyone wins. When we work for the good of the few or the individual, then the whole suffers and everyone loses. Refer to my previous post about the philosophy of Immanuel Kant.
