Hi,
I am a newbie. I have been practicing astrology for 12 years, but know very little about horary. I have been mainly reading Lilly and Bonatti to learn the basics of horary astrology, and today I casted a chart. The question – will A and B get together and get married – in fact does not regard any actual circumstances. It is more of an exercize I have made to see if I could interpret the chart in the right way.
First, I considered if the chart was radical. The lord of the ascendant was Mars, and the lord of the hour was Venus. The ascendant fell at 17 degrees Aries, so it was neither in the first nor in the last degrees of the sign. Furthermore, it was conjunct my natal Jupiter – for the sake of simplicity, I assume that the first house should represent me. Now, Mars is at 4 Gemini, in the house and in the terms of Mercury. I have a Mercury complexion and a Martial look (Mars/Gemini culminating in my natal chart), with slightly muscular arms although I am a woman, fiery eyes, and brown/reddish hair which line ends in a point in the middle of the forehead.
The lord of the seventh – given the “question” should represent the quesited, somebody who displays the traits of Venus/Saturn.
Mars is peregrine, but has two accidental dignities: it is in the second and oriental. It is not received either by exaltation, by house or other dignities, by Venus. Venus’s situation is slightly better: it is in its own triplicity, and in the exaltation, faces and terms of mars. If the question is about two people, then this means that they are not related to each other at all, or are very weakly related.
Person A (i.e. Mars) should be on good terms with an older man (Saturn).
Persons B (Venus) is dealing with a judge, a lawyer, somebody who manages his property (sextile Jupiter, lord of B’s second house). Also, he has to do with a much younger person, (Mercury). As mercury is severely debilitated, it seems to me that there must be something wrong in the dealings of these two people. Matters of property (Mercury rules B’s eight), of bureaucracy (mercury in B’s 6th?) of which A is not aware (mercury in A’s 12).
Mars and Venus are perfecting their trine. The answer therefore should be “yes”. But what happens before Venus has completed its application to Mars? Mercury, which is faster, begins its retrogradation. Hence the person symbolized by Mercury poses an obstacle. It is like somebody is separating from B, and then changes his/her mind, and decides to go back. Given how this planet is debilitated this obstacle does not seem to be strong enough.
Two planets perfect their aspect to Mars on the same day. One is Venus, which would indicate the good result of this question, the other is the sextile with a retrograde Saturn. As Saturn is in detriment and retrograde, it does not have the “strength” to effectively obstacle the aspect between mars and venus.
To sum up, with many delays, difficulties and obstacles posed either by unforeseen and sudden circumstances or by the conscious action of one man (Uranus and Sun square Mars), A and B should get together.
I do not have any clue on how to get indications about the timing. Not that it matters, given that this is a mock question……
Comments anybody?
