I am going to ignore this particular interpretation for a moment and describe my first impressions upon reading this Sabian description. I have only recently discovered the profound significance of Aquarian energies in my chart...my rising sign is Aquarius, which makes my chart ruler Uranus...I am of the first decante of my rising sign, highlighting this planet's influence...Uranus is located in the natal house of Aquarius (the eleventh house) in my chart, no matter which house system I use...it also appeared STATIONARY in the sky the day I was born! In addition, the Sabian degree of my Rising Sign also stresses individuality:

And yet, although it should be completely against my innate nature, I have always been incredibly sensitive to others' impressions of me. In time, I lost touch of who I really was because I had become molded by others aspirations!

Mmm. :? Not sure I like the sound of this one. I think what the symbol is expressing to me is that I am not making full use of my potential according to my latent abilities.

An aeroplane is a means of riding high, but if it is taking a nose dive, then I am not flying high as I could or should be, and in Gemini, this shows that I am not putting my mental energies and speaking/writing skills to good enough use.

I am glad I'm not about to embark on a plane flight, or this symbol would have worried me. :?

I decided to generate a symbol to answer my question of, 'how can I stop making a nose dive, and start riding high?', but at the same time the symbol is left for the next person to see what it means for them:

LEO 22: A CARRIER PIGEON FULFILLING IT'S MISSION.

How odd. A carrier pigeon fulfilling it's mission is the opposie of a plane taking a nose dive, because with the plane things are going wrong but the pigeon is 'flying high'.

A carrier pigeon emphasises that I ought to use my communication skills in that the pigeon acts as a messenger, I had been thinking of starting a website. Hmm.... I have loads of skills in various methods of divination but have never really capitalised upon these skills, I have bags of original ideas upon the Tarot in particular, I have wanted to write a book but have held back through fear of failure. This symbol seemS to give some positive encouragement. It is a Leo symbol, so tells me to have confidence in myself.

But how does the next person relate to the Leo 22 symbol?..........

So, in your case, just focus on your 'mission' on what you feel you should do.

In my case, I think it means I should fulfill my duties, do my homeworks, as I'm passing throught the first Saturn return and this is what I'm supposed to do.

This is fun how certain Sabians just scream out at you! This one did it for me finally.

To me the 2 rapt lovers are the inner male and female aspects of ourselves. The Philosopher may represent our Higher Self or Expanded Consciousness. Also I feel the 2 rapt lovers are our 'heart' and the Philosopher our 'mind'. And together all 3 of the 'parts' are watching the New Moon. Very nice! The New Moon indicates new beginnings, a new phase of learning and creating within a new astrological energy/archetype. So.....all in all to me, this indicates a person who's integrated their inner male/female polarities along with their intellect/emotions and because of this, are able to consider the New Moon or starting out on a new adventure with the new energies as a new being.

Telling me i need to get back out there and learn? The school thing...? Before I came onto site had already done one and it was Sag 4 - a little child is learning to walk..I was asking advice on career direction. So maybe it's about taking small steps to rejoin society - been unemployed for over a year now - and either retrain (never been an effective student -merc opp nep exact!) or at least find the robust enthusiasm for such...

I love the way you brought together the symbolism for Pisces 26 that Sita left. I couldn't help mentioning that on the section of the AW site, where Radu has given us the opportunity to create our own set of symbols for each zodiac degree, Pisces 26 was the degree that I drew at random, just out of interest, this is how I summarised what I felt about the degree:

A WITCH SCRYING ON THE SURFACE OF A FOREST POND, A PORTAL TO ANOTHER WORLD.

I explain why I used this description, but we will have to wait until all 360 degrees are complete until we can see what each other wrote.

I can relate to your symbol in that just before I came on here I was thinking about the practice of magick in relation to astrology. What strikes me as significant is that 'old lace hankerchief; some rare perfume; a mirror', sounds like part of a list of magickal ingredients for a spell-working, also the lunar symbolism of all these objects would seem to stand out, because the Moon is of prime importance in magick, particularly it's phases.

Also the description of the symbol 'material....shading into the spiritual' is significant because magick concerns the ritual arrangement of symbols on a material level in order to effect corresponding changes on a spiritual level.

It is also described as 'high achievement through personal charm'. I take the 'charm' to refer to a highly effective talisman, which has been ritually created beneath the right astrological conditions. I know what this symbol means.

I notice that Virgo 15 is almost the midpoint of my natal Sun and Venus, which would also relate to magick: the concious (Sun) manipulation of the laws of attraction (Venus) i.e. 'as above, so below', 'like attracts like'.

I didn't realize that we were also supposed to create our own new key words or phrase for the Sabian! :roll: I need some things clearly spelled out obviously! So I should have also created my own 'name' or 'phrase' for 26 Pisces and what that meant to me? Ooooops. Rats, I'll try again with another one.

I think you got he wrong end of the stick.

On the front page of Astrology Weekly, the January 17th article is 'Welcome to the world of 360 zodiac symbols! Get involved! Were creating a new set of symbols.'.

When you click on the title, a random degree of the zodiac is generated, and the idea is that you have a think about that particular degree and try to think of a Sabian style phrase, or sentence that encapsulates it's meaning for you and then write a description of why you have chosen this imagery for the degree. Alernatively just write a bit about what the symbol means to you symbolically.

The idea is that once all the symbols have been created, then we will have our own AW set of symbols for use by us on the forum. It will be interesting to see each others ideas.

So when I said about the Pisces 26 symbol, all I meant is that this is the degree that had been randmly generated for me, and I came up with the encapsulation 'A WITCH SCRYING IN A FOREST POND, A PORTAL TO ANOTHER WORLD.'.

We aren't meant to be getting creative on this thread, we are using the Sabians, the idea being that you say what the last symbol meant to you and then leaving another one behind for the next person.

I just mentioned my Pisces 26 symbol out of interest as this is the symbol you generated, and I just wondered if you could relate to it.

:lol: Thanks Draco for explaining the difference between the Sabian stuff here and at A.W. for me. Natal Merc is Rx so I usually go into mental contortions with the greatest of ease......add to this mild dyslexia and I can get lost just as easily! I think hel141 is gifted with this too so sometimes we - I need clear defined details and instructions. We do much better with visuals it seems. :mrgreen:

How strange than symbol Pisces 19 was generated for you. Do you remeber Amzolts post, 'Research Project, or is There Already an Answer?'.

In this thread, Amzolt says about when he watched the Moon and Venus rise, and that the Moon was at Pisces 20, and Venus at Pisces 18, and discussed what the symbols might mean in relation to what he was thinking about.

I came back to suggest that it might be good to consider Pisces 19, as the middle symbol between the two.

The symbol I quoted differs, and is:

"The young man and the old one have walked many miles but as master and pupil they neither are fatigued."

Perhaps you should re-read this thread? You are being drawn back to it for some reason. As I remeber, there is only Radu, Amzolt, you and I that have commented upon it so far.

Before I clicked on the thread, my question was, 'How do I do as an astrologer?', so I was intrigued to read for the symbol you generated:

Well this is intriguing. I only discovered the Sabian Oracle today. I've been doing much discovering recently!

So, for me we have

Sounds pretty good. Well, right now I am (not) writing an essay. You may have noticed that I've been around the forum quite a bit recently. It's the end of semester, and my last, and largest, assignment is looming. I'm finding it *incredibly* difficult to concentrate, simply because I'm so close, and I've worked so damned hard (there's a grand cross in fixed signs in my solar return this year, with saturn in the third house, it's natal placement :) )

So. The time for fulfillment IS close. The effort left IS small in comparison to the amount I have already expended. These ARE the last few steps to a blooming expanse of free time and revelry in my achievements. BUT, I still have to take those steps! Argh!

Ok, well to me this is all about twos :) the 22nd degrees, couples of two, gemini the twins. At the time of harvest, life busy with coupling, with the abundance of combining energies, with the buzz of interaction and the energy of seeing yourself through the eyes of another. On the upside, it's speaking of gains in creativity, energy, cycles of recycling energy.

Greetings again, sabain chain symbol friends!

I asked for you to tell me more about the parade of rewarding, self confirming and fortunate events marching into my life.

To me, black and white children playing happily together suggest resolution of superficial difference, a very natural, unassuming and creative harmony.

Further, virgo implies the ability to get things done in a constructive fashion. Perhaps this symbol reflects the efforts I've made towards self integration, towards getting all my 'parts' to work together happily, and owning all of my energies (black and white reminds me of the self/shadow division). I am able to function constructively when parts of my conscious and unconscious interact harmoniously.

Sounds like a funny question in retrospect, but it's what I'm thinking :) All that comes to me is beauty. Fields blooming white beneath the moonlight...purity, sweet surprise, feminine, reclaimed, secret startling beauty. Going to have to think about this one!! Love it though.

i realized that duhh i have jupiter at 0deg leo!

when i initially read "daughter of the american revolution" i identified with it as since i've gotten back from cuba with my mind full of abstract thoughts i've been talking to a lot of people about said thoughts and they have been responding to me. (us revolution symbolized to me: a new order, a new system, and the evolution of the old into the new) i worry that i may come off as preachy or that people dont want to hear what i have to say (or that i'm just talking out of my ***), so i am careful as to when i bust out my philosophical thoughts, but i keep on meeting new people and the conversation inevitably shifts to the esoteric naturally and then all of a sudden i'm kind of spewing out all this stuff, half the time i dont even know where its coming from! it feels raelly good and natural to me to talk about this stuff to people, and the people i talk to are always so open to what i have to say and want to hear more, but i am afraid to come off as a kook or weirdo.

so i guess this symbol is a bit of a reassurance to me that i am not in fact insane :)

i wish it had some relevance to my more pressing issue of Finding A Job though!!!

Hey Arian :) I had always wondered where you got the extra interpretation, and had never gotten around to asking. Now I know!

I asked: How can I make the people at work feel special tomorrow?

You see, I'm still somewhat new, and I sometimes feel the need to make a good professional impression. I suspect that this feeling of self-consciousness and wanting to appear impressive actually draws away from the natural warmth I have for the place and the people in it. Too much effort spent hoping to live up to expectation means that you don't notice other people :rolleyes: and that isn't what I want.

Yesterday I read a post, mentioning the Sabian Symbols. I decided to look more into these symbols in order to give me more information in a birthchart or also horary chart. That's why I came to this thread and I can see that it was a long time ago since this thread was started. I think this symbol is describing my situation at the moment:

This symbol is so fitting to my question. Suffering from an illness I've not been able to do the things I did before. I have been in a quandry of what new things to do. It takes time to find one's way out of dark and into the light...one can become quite restless and uncertain when it will happen.

We all have inner struggles and conflicting voices that pull us back from reaching our goal. But somehow a guiding force a pulse gets our wheels in motion, urging us to venture into the unknown. Passionately showing up in life, we are proclaiming, here I am. What an awakening!! Once out into the world we will be joined by others and together encourage and support each other.

So this symbol is telling me to be patient, not to panic or feel any self-doubt. I think it's also about taking time to listen to intuitive messages, hunches, thought and feelings. Our part is to put into motion what our intuition is telling us. We'll know we're on the right track when synchronicities start happening in our life.

To answer your question, it was my own interpretation of the symbol. Sometimes I can be totally off the mark, if that's so, I'd appreciate others guidance. I just kinda get a visual of the symbol and write down what I see.

As far as 5% pisces, a church bazaar, this is another symbol that speaks to me as well.

I'm quite a hermit, keeping to myself alot of the time. Although this has given me the opportunity to explore life philosophically, it has also distanced me from communicating and being with others.

Pisces 5 seems quite sociable and friendly, participating and actively performing a service for a specfic clan, family or community. A time of show and tell. It also seems to be connected with alot of creativity and artistic possibilities.......a bazaar is an expression of a variety of talents all coming together. When we lovingly, compassionately share with others, we receive the same in return. And emotionally we feel a sense of contentment through some kind of creative and spiritual involvement.

In a church, there are certain rules that must be followed as well as a great deal of refinement and hanging on to old rules and traditions. Not quite my cup of tea, since my tendency is to bulk at tradition. But I also know we need rules to help maintain order in our society.

The power behind the making of a bazaar requires a group of people who have the ability to list, catalogue, assemble, rearrange and have everything available for the artisans to display their wares in an orderly way. Their minds are always clicking, organizing and coming up with one great idea after another. The problem can sometimes be overanalysing and becoming so immersed in it, they can't see the forest for the trees. Then it all becomes overwhelming.

A bazaar put together with intuition and skill will make it appealing to the public who will be able to slowly flow through its maze of many treasures and be aware and receptive of everyone and everything.

I have been thinking of volunteering and helping out in my community. This could help push me out of my 'comfort zone' and be very healing as well.

Oh my, this is for me then. It shows the movement of the Soul to new posibiliies and opportunities. Listening to my inner voice and heeding mesges from others, can lead me to the next level of my life. Well, I take this as a message rather than something I am going through at the moment. Of course I have always wanted my intuition to become stronger and in a way have been waiting for some sign. I also have noticed that I often do have the right feelings lately. Also more dreams, more than usual, which I am trying to interprete. Mmmm... interesting. Maybe something will happen in my life which brings me to a higher level, who knows. It answers my question in an odd, intriguing way, almost like an advice? Guess I will have to ask another question soon. :D
