View Full Version : Your Astrology Weekly Screen Name
Arian Maverick
02-17-2006, 09:25 PM
I was browsing through the Harmonics Board (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=975) when I was inspired to create this new thread. This is purely for fun, but the ensuing discussion may hopefully prove to be insightful as well. How did you come up with your Astrology Weekly screen name?

It's my name!
The simplier the better, I say :D
But one of the main reasons why I started this board was because of an epiphany I had earlier today. As you all should know by now, my rising sign is Aquarius, which makes my ruling planet Uranus. No matter which house system I use, Uranus holds its own in the eleventh house...the house of Aquarius! Not only this, but my natal Uranus is stationary and about to go retrograde, intensifying its total effect on my chart! I was not aware of ANY of this when I first decided upon my screen name; I had only read a description which I felt suit me.
To add another factor into the equation, check out the Sabian Symbol for my Ascendent:
307__(7°)
OUT OF THE COSMIC EGG,LIFE IS BORN FRESH AND VIRGINAL New actuation of effort by the power of unrealized purposes. Self-expression beyond all expectation. Spiritual protection.
___*When positive, the degree is a highly individual and completely unlimited resourcefulness, and when negative, naive reliance on external accident.
Aquarian Maverick indeed
Has anyone else had such an experience? Please share...
Aquarian Maverick
On other astrology forums I use a made-up screen name generated by throwing tarot cards and picking up one, then creating by anagram a name.
The card corresponded to Mercury in Aquarius.

I came up with my Username because I am a Sagittarius and my element is Fire. Plus Fire is my faverote element. :sagittarius: :sagittarius2:

Plus Fire is my faverote element.
As an Aries, I can relate! I am imbued with the energy of fire; it is a part of my very identity. However, I am still an Aquarius Rising, through and through. It's strange that the water bearer should have the symbol of air :D

Six of Swords - it corresponds to Mercury in Aquarius.

Lapis
02-19-2006, 06:44 PM
Radu, you sly fox, how clever! That was great.
I use Lapis for different reasons. One is the color and how that is connected to Indigo and Orion for me personally. Ancient Egypt is another reason and that is directly connected to the first reasons!
An off-subject question for you Radu. Is your natal chart displayed somewhere here that I haven't as yet discovered? I'd enjoy seeing your chart if you have made it public already. If not I certainly understand.

Draco
02-21-2006, 09:11 AM
Hi all,
I chose 'Draco' because I really like the name. It is an Italian name, latin for dragon or serpent, and I am fond of snakes. It is also 'the devil' in latin -
When I do the numerology on Draco, I find that it comes to 23, one above my magick 22. :|
Draco.
amzolt
02-21-2006, 10:44 AM
How did you come up with your Astrology Weekly screen name?
Actually, I use Amzolt on almost all boards and sites. It's just my first two initials and the first four letters of my last name {Alexander M Zoltai}. It fell out of me back when I was deeply into Space Simulation games and it sounded kind of "spacey" and sort of like a "General"... The story behind the M is interesting 'cause I was born without a middle name and adopted the M many years ago when I got published as an astrologer in a local newspaper. My father {who had the same name} was in the same city and was embarrassed by his friends when they thought I was him so I added the letter to differentiate us...

Lunar Pisces

My moon's in Pisces, hence "Lunar Pisces."

Elianah is part of my Hebrew name and it means "My God has answered."
5th house moon
02-27-2006, 05:04 AM
Heya
pretty obvious I guess...but it's my chart ruler too. Also, I've had some interesting transits of late (being plutoed left-right-and-centre!) and have been getting in touch with my creative side (5th house).
Good idea for a post, Am. Love your Arian pioneering spirit!
Cheers

You're in for a long story.
So, I've always been a fan of cats ..just ..I love them. So much. ...soooo you know that movie that came out in 2001 called Cats & Dogs, where they're in a secret war? I saw that ..and I was around 10 years of age at the time. Loved it, and came home and roleplayed it online. I met so many people ...I've even met people in person ..three of them now, actually. It's because I'm not stupid and don't go chatting with freaks. WHOOoo! But yeah ..my character, Callie, was a calico cat and leader of the cat army. Since then, I've LOVED calico cats because their fur pattern and colors are beautiful. Sooo ..one day I was on my pirate-music-machine and put in the keyword 'calico' and found a song called Calico by Alien Ant Farm. Good song. In it, they go "Calico cats and calico dreams, but that ain't too real ..so just make it real." ..I think ..I haven't listened to the song in a while, but it's become a username I remember well. So I use it everywhere I go.

New on the forum -- thought I would just jump in, Aries Style!
Sophie is my nickname for years -- I have always wished for wisdom, and so Sophie was born. I told stories about Sophie Rose Zendik and Caliope and Adelaide Rosenbloom for years. They are cousins, but actually they are parts of me. The rose thing is part of the Grateful Dead Caleveras (http://www.hawaii.edu/artgallery/posada/Calaveras/Index.html) theme in the "Día de la Muerte" tradition.
They are great explorers. When they were young they did little-girl detective things but as they got older they toured with the Grateful Dead and then after Jerry died they had to decide what next so they smoked some ganga, consulted the oracle and decided to make revolution, cause that's what Jerry would have wanted them to do.
And in light of the sabian oracle -- mine is Aries 9 -- A SEER GAZES INTENTLY INTO A CRYSTAL BALL BEFORE HIM. I just looked it up -- but it really fits me, and makes my avatar fit me too ---
And I cannot give a simple answer. I have to tell a story. Either you like that part of me or you just ignore my posts -- your call.:D
Shining Ray
08-05-2006, 09:30 AM
I have decided to change my name from Miss Saturn to Shining Ray. It was because something Tim had written about on the Pluto Transits thread. On how he changes users names to something more positive. He always called me Saturn and dropped the Miss.
I was thinking about the whole Miss part and the strange thing is I hate it when people talk to me like a young girl. I added Miss to my name because I thought people would think I was male with just the name Saturn. But it doesn't really matter what gender you are.
I want to let the light shine from my Sun, I am not saying Saturn is bad, because he isn't he is here as my teacher to help me learn about duties and responsibilities in life. Where as Saturn is the teacher and I am the personal Planet the Sun.
I have to learn about Saturn but it is about time I expressed myself, in a more positive way. New name and brand new perspective, hopefully.

Hello, all. I'm brand new here. I chose my name because...
I'm a water sign (Cancer sun, Pisces moon and Mars) and feel I can strongly identify with what they say about water signs.
The 3rd, 6th, and 9th houses look most occupied in my chart, and ending the screen name with a "9" made it rhyme. Yay. :p

When I was but a wee child, I loved the constellations and the stories behind them. My mom had just bought me a toy telescope and I would go out and try to spot them. Alas, because of those annoying street lamps (light pollution!), I could only see Orion and the Big Dipper. But I've always had a love of the night, especially the sky and the stars, so I combined them to form my name! :D
i was looking for an email name and an online screen name for a dating site. i thought about the dating site and thought okay who are you and how can you relate it.... thought to myself "ahhhh you're just a girl". but just a girl was taken so i had to compensate a bit and came up with just_agirl666 (bday is 3/6/63 and the sign of the devil is 666 and the two end threes add to 6, so 666). i was feeling playful that day so where none of the combinations of just a girl would be allowed cause they were all taken on the email account i said ***** it, add 666 and freak people out. i don't know what planet is responsible for that action that day but some were really freaked by the 666 and i'm like calm down!
so i just used the acronym jag for just a girl. that's all i am really.... :-)

I'm a Cancer Sun Sign Male, living in Belgium
So i picked the Moon, as she rules my Sun Sign
I'm 9 Destiny and Full Name Number in numerology, so that's reflected in my avatar...
And the 9 in my avatar is a house number of a house I used to live in... How Cancer is that :38:
twiggy

Twiggy was my first cat. We gave her that name because when she came to us she was painfully skinny...Using her name for everything makes me remember her often.
Neptune Rising
04-13-2007, 06:42 PM
Mine should be Neptune conjunct Ascendant, Neptune Sag or Neptune falling 'cause its not really rising. But I think the planet looks beautiful in the pictures, and I feel Neptune's presence strongly in my life.
Off to the pub now :)
Edited to say, Neptune's influence is outside of the pub as well ;), in a more subtle psychic way which I think, to me now is the most important influence, helping to give a deeper understanding of life.

Carole
04-14-2007, 12:35 AM
The screen name Carole just came out of the blue when I first registered here and so I took it. On a second thought, it has nothing to do with Astrology but I think it perfectly fits my happy nature. Now I use it on other sites as well.
oonah
06-28-2007, 02:18 AM
Oonah is the name of the little annoying pixy in a old fantasy-film called "legend". I'm really into the fantasy-thing and used to play a lot of pc-games and LARP's and allways used that nick, over the years it stuck and a lot of people know me only by this name. It means "one" or "pure" .

06-28-2007, 07:09 AM
what language is the word "oonah" taken from? its intresting it means "one".. like in spanish you got "uno".. quite a resemblence..
well what it "wee11"? i dont know better than you, i just made up a silly nickname to get inside the forum :P
oonah

Oonah :
- variant of Una \u-na\ is pronounced OO-nah Latin: (una) one, unity
Una, Unah, Oona, Oonah, Oonahg, onaugh
- variant of Agnes \ag-nes\ Greek: (Hagnes) pure
Agna, Aina, Inah, Oona, Oonahg, Oonah, Una, Unah
- variant of Oona \o(o)-na\ is pronounced OO-nah. Gaelic: Unique
Also a phonetic spelling of Unah,(Gaelic) meaning "hunger" or "lamb".

Lissa
07-19-2007, 06:53 PM
Nice thread:).
First,I would like to make clear that my name is Lissa and not Lisa,as some people on other places sometimes think.Lissa is short for Melissa, and is one of the nicknames my dad usually calls me,among which are Lissocas and Lissinha. The last one is my favourite but the 'nh' sound doesn't exist in English so I decided to stick with Lissa:).
I like this user name,it's simple, easy to remember and doesn't say anything about me.You see, when you chose a name like, for example,HotGirlByTheBeach, people will look at your user name and think"This girl is hot and likes to hang out by the beach".When people look at my user name they think"This girl's name is Lissa".And the thinking stops there:).Which is exacly my intention.

I'm sorry, but I found this to be very funny. It's kind of strange, the assumptions we make based off of people's choices of usernames.
Anyway, my username means Neptune's Soldier. When I first came to the forum I was trying to come up with some cool username, so I looked in my natal chart for some kind of inspiration. Well, I found it in my Pisces Ascendant (big surprise), so I connected Pisces --> Neptune -- > Kaiousei. So, I just made it Kaiousei no Senshi. Whoo! This worked pretty well since my first several avatars were of Sailor Neptune, but now I wish I had made it just Planetary Soldier. -.-'
P.S. While I was writing this, a bad astrology commerical came on. You know the ones I mean. Where they have the glyphs for Signs drawn up on the screen in a little revolving circle. You know, the ones were the glyphs for Leo, Virgo, and Scorpio are facing the wrong way. Yeah, that's a reliable astrological source...
freedomlover
07-19-2007, 10:41 PM
I'm a Sagittarius with an Aquarius Moon. Also my Progressed Mars, Venus and Ascendant are all in Aquarius. Good cause for a screenname like Freedomlover, eh?
Also, I've always identified strongly and had a deep love for the Statue of Liberty. If my mother had been a hippie-chick instead of a fuddy-duddy, she would have named me "Freedom" or "Liberty" (born in the mid-60's) :p
And... I'm a lover, not a fighter.
So, the perfect screenname for me is "Freedomlover". :D
Gewitter
08-13-2007, 05:33 PM
Nice thread. My name is the German word for thunderstorm. When I was looking for a name to join this forum there has been a thunderstorm outside. I needed a name and I like the tension in the air when there is a thunderstorm coming up. In the area where I live the thunderstorms are seldom severe. I think if it wasn't this way I wouldn't name myself 'Gewitter'. And it is the German word because I live in Germany.
Hm... but somehow recently I even feel a bit like a Gewitter... I hope I don't appear like one to others. :p
Circe
08-13-2007, 11:03 PM
My name comes from Circe, one of the most famous sorceress in greek mythology.
She made men who went to her place become animals, so it`s said that her temple was full of animals.
Actually they say that she would have relation with some kind of allucination herbs that produced the other people thought they were animals.
Also, she made a lot of work with her magic, specially for Zeus.
Anyway, is funny to say that my avatar and my sign is the image of my favourite goddess (as an arian, I must say I love fights) the image is from Eris, the fight goddess, Ares` sister.
^_^
unique-earthling
09-09-2007, 05:17 AM
Hi I am new too, my name is unique-earthling because i believe everyone is unique is their own way, human beings are awesome, full of potential. the
Human beings are constituted of:
Physical Body.
Etheric Body.
Astral Body.
Ego.
What raises us above other known sentient beings is our ability to be conscious of our own consciousness. Being aware, Other known aspects of consciousness are free will, reasoning, visual imagery, recalling and making choices. Emotional awareness stops us stumbling over ourselves trying to reach our goals, we can be whoever we choose to be, when we throw out our conditioning and become who we were meant to be. Now if that isnt unique i dont know what is..

FleetingDasein
09-09-2007, 08:17 PM
I use mine mostly everywhere.
Dasein comes from the german "being there". It's also a philosophical term by Heideggger used to define existence (what he refers as being-in-the-world.)
Fleetingdasein then is self explanatory :D

I chose my name as "he who dwells in Lórien, the gardens of the Vala Irmo in Valinor" a forest realm in Middle-Earth from Tolkien's in remembrance to the time when I was a bit more of a free spirit, a traveller and not sedentary city dweller as I am now...
Lorieno is also a forested place by the beach on the island of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean.

Once while fighting the logging of old growth redwoods, what looked like inevitable defeat was staring me in the face. I took a walk along the Pacific Ocean, and there was a Great Blue Heron standing on the pathway. It didn't move... we looked at each other for a long time... then it flew off.
In a few days, we won hands down (last minute miracle.)

I chose mine from my myspace name. Not much thought because I signed up on a whim.I decided to change it though because I wasn't fond of the capitalization I had used as well as the ms. in front of it.Which was put there so it wouldn't be so google-able ( estranged ex ).This ones simpler, perhaps a little more revealing and a little less flashy and even less google-able :D.I have witnessed the bravery some new people have in posting and its given me a little courage. So yes I'm ex ms.illusionista ( i don't however know how delete the other one ) , just so there isnt any like confusion or anything ^^

I am often asked about my screen name, this is an interesting thread to answer.
RubyElixir means a few things to me:
First I came up with it in the 90's when I was designing Goth Jewelry. It sort of sounded like a Goth Stripper name so I liked that.
Then, I thought about red liquid or tonic, inticing , mysterious, luscious.
Lastly, it also can be a metaphor for life blood...which goes back to the vampire goth thing....I like the definition below especially: "4.the quintessence; underlying principle"
definition of elixir on msn encarta:
e·lix·ir [ i líksər ] (plural e·lix·irs)
noun
Definition:
1. cure-all: a panacea or a quick or magical cure
2. sweetened drug: a sweetened solution of a drug in alcohol and water
3. miraculous substance: a substance once believed to prolong life indefinitely, or to transform base metals into gold
4.the quintessence; underlying principle
[14th century. Via medieval Latin< Arabic al-iksir< Greek xērion "dry powder for treating wounds" < xēros "dry"]
but ultimately I like the words together and it feels good to me

lol that's a plastic wind-up boxing kangaroo toy that I painted.

M.T.T.Y. stands for something so stupid that I won't even explain it in a thread that is devoted to explaining your username. The original unabbreviated version was originally created in 2001 or '02 for other websites.
Sometime around 2003-04 I shortened it for a game site and added "05", which represented the year I was graduating high school. So as you can see, my username is seriously outdated. How uncool.
My username is like the Uggs of usernames. Cool in 2003 when it first came out, boring and old now in 2010. At least I don't eat Freedom Fries anymore, lol.

midnight sun
08-05-2010, 08:50 AM
That's an interesting topic, I think the screen names are very involved with birth charts and give a clue about them.
"Midnight Sun" is about hope, light will always be seen in the middle of darkness. It's just like a summary of my life. It also reminds Moon as well and I'm a Cancer. Also I feel it's like Pluto, transforming of life cycle, night and day. I'm a total water person, Pluto in first, ruler of asc in 8th, Sun-Mars-Mercury in Cancer, Neptune is in aspect with Sun-Mars. I always wanted to be a fish(with all of these water:))) and some of my screen names are fish names and also the quote I'm using here is about fishes, too.

Perhaps I should create another thread about this topic, but I think it would be interesting to discuss how one's screen name may affect one's behavior and the tone of one's posts in an online community. I have registered to other forums with different names, and I've noticed that I adopt a softer persona when I post under softer, more "watery" names.
I often have desired to change this screen name because it does not represent the totality of who I am. Nevertheless, I am known in this community as Arian Maverick, so Arian Maverick I shall remain.

that's a fascinating point and I can really see where you are coming from there. I use different names on different boards I post on, I post on various sites which cover a broad range of interests but I have noticed a similar thing. on some places I've used humorous screen names and found myself playing up to the name and becoming more silly. while on other places I'll use an alias which is related to the name I use for making music and i'll be a bit more serious. I find that I adapt to the place i'm in and mainly just express that side of my personality which is relevant to the forum. I have bucked the trend on occasions and decided to do something different but hated the feeling of being alienated or being treated like I was an outsider or too different.I guess that problem is probably unique to me though since if someone like me has so many polar interests they never really fit properly in one place...

EhTeam
10-13-2010, 10:18 PM
Eh Team.
1. With family from Canada, and living on the Canadian border, I use the word 'Eh' through the day or week.
2. It's a play on words, for the "A team"
And, from Urban dictionary,
An interjection popular in Canadian (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/define.php?term=Canadian) speech. According to linguists, a "politeness marker."
Adding "eh" to a sentence can indicate the speaker's willingness to accept dissent or to invite further discussion. Has been referred to as an "articulated question mark."
The interpretation of "eh" as carrying meaning beyond other routine interjections (huh?) is supposed to be uniquely Canadian (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/define.php?term=Canadian). "Ascertaining the comprehension, continued interest, agreement, etc., of the person or persons addressed" is how the Canadian Oxford Dictionary puts it.
"Let's do something, eh?" -- where 'eh' is 'do you agree?'
"We could get a pizza, eh?" -- where 'eh' is 'if you would like to'
"I don't know about that, eh?" -- where 'eh' is 'but perhaps I might be convinced if you explained further'
"What's that, eh?" -- where 'eh' is 'I would appreciate, friend of mine, hearing your interpretation'
"The beer's cheap here, eh?" -- where 'eh' is 'so what would you like to do about that'
"It's after last call, eh?" -- where 'eh' is 'were you aware'
suimui10
10-13-2010, 10:56 PM
"Sui" in Suimui10 was inspired from "sui generis" a Latin expression meaning "of its own kind" (something like "one of a kind").

nuthatch
05-17-2011, 09:02 PM
Mine is a type of small bird. There are about 24 different species of nuthatches, but the kind I grew up with in my backyard is the White-breasted Nuthatch, which is common across the US. They're absolutely adorable...they cling to tree trunks and often forage upside down (sort of like a backwards woodpecker) so that they can see bugs that other birds miss. I've actually been wanting to get a nuthatch tattoo for the past seven years or so.

07-19-2011, 05:56 PM
I came up with mine after I saw "Tokyo Gore Police" . I liked the main character, so I took her name.
The five thing has to do with numerology - my Life Path number is 5, I was born on the fifth day of August... the number five is like a recurring theme in my life, it's always popping up. Plus, I just wanted to make sure my screenname was long enough so the site would take it and not spit it back, telling me it was too short so I stuck that on the end of it lol.
I wish we could change our names here though, because I get bored fast with screennames and always want something different.

I sat here thinking about my screen name before I decided on it. I use a different screen name for every forum I frequent, so I wouldn't think of using a name I have elsewhere. Also, I tend to pick names that are themed either with the type of forum or an interest I have.
I tend to have names involving music I like, so I thought of song titles/lyrics/other things. "Cosmic Love" by Florence + the Machine suddenly came to mind, and I thought it sounded perfectly fitting for use here. :)
fireyfishy
08-15-2011, 11:50 PM
fireyfishy is a play on words... I am a Pisces Sun, but my firey side comes out with a Leo Rising and Venus conj. Jupiter in Aries. also I like the alliteration in fireyfishy :D
MissDreamer
08-25-2011, 07:23 PM
I chose MissDreamer as my screenname because it's who I am. A dreamer. Dreams are endless possibilities. I once saw a quote on a poster in one of my English classes many moons ago that read: "If you dream it, you can become it".
Such a simple yet poignant quote that made a lasting impression on my life. It has never left my mind--nor have my dreams.

10-28-2011, 02:38 AM
Mine was created because I saw my chart and thought, "I have too much Uranus influence!" and then just used what came to me. I didn't even know about declination and latitude aspects then (oh boy . Venus-Jupiter-Uranus parallel romanticism CHA-OS! ...mostly suppressed by a current state of isolation. Mostly. It explains a lot of my artistic stuff as Venus rules art, at least, as well as my touchophobia despite Venus in Earth.)

Fulcrum
11-01-2011, 06:51 AM
It started simply enough with a band I assembled in the early 90s called Fulcrum. I was going through a Christian-centric phase of my spiritual journey at the time, and the image came to me that if God needed a lever with which to move the Earth, he'd need a fulcrum to rest his stick on. I wanted to be that for him.
I've moved away from Christ-as-savior since then and more toward Christ-as-one-of-many-enlightened-individuals-who-have-walked-the-face-of-this-rock-over-the-course-of-history, but the conceit remains: I still want to move people away from darkness and toward light; out of bad feeling into good; out of silence and into action. I was about to add "to the limited extent that I'm able", but why should I impose a limit on myself?
Because the conceit remains, my current musical project is called @Fulcrum, which is where I feel like I want to be and which I believe we all have the capability to be if we want it. We can move others, if not with a stick, then with our love.
dreamcharm
11-26-2011, 10:13 AM

Sorry, brain freeze, but I like reading this thread. The things everyone has posted are interesting.
So, I just started a new group here: moon in Aquarius. Hopefully people will want to join. I made it really for anyone who feels Aquarius energy in they're natal chart. Not just in they're moon sign.
EdgesOnCircles
11-28-2011, 12:29 AM
Edges on Circles haha... I'm sure it doesn't make sense considering there aren't any edges on a circle unless you want to talk about tangents. But that's the purpose really. Life is full of cycles (you can start singing Circle of Life) but sometimes we need to find an edge to jump off to grow and see things in a new perspective. It's a matter of breaking the chain to start something new. And well some of us will forever run in the same circles wondering why they aren't going anywhere :joyful:...

11-07-2012, 01:23 AM
I use lunar eclipses a lot in the books/stories/poems... that I write almost as a way to connect them all- and for symbolism purposes.
Also, I started becoming interested in astrology when I first heard about lunar eclipses. There was suposed to be a full lunar eclipse in my area a few years ago, but it happened to be cloudy that night. I'm still waiting to see a full lunar eclipse, but I could wait forever as long as I can still see the sky.
Katydidit
11-09-2012, 12:49 AM
About 25+ years ago I worked part-time for an answering service. In the days of transition to answering machines there were many companies that took live calls for clients via PBX boards. Anybody remember Lilly Tomlin’s phone operator? That was us – 3 or 4 women at night/weekends (my shifts); 6 women in the day, each working maybe ten chords/plugs for 100 clients (1-inch windows).
We answered after hours for doctors, lawyers, and indian chiefs. We took ‘out-of-oil’ calls in the dead of winter, we took AA calls for those looking for a meeting, we took real estate calls for agents. We answered for everything you can imagine after hours or during lunch. I always considered it to be highly symbolic of some kind of synergy. For me it was as if we were floating over the city and keeping its web together.
Anyway, I was known as Katie there. When the owner, an aging southern belle transplanted into New England, would walk in for the day/evening and see me at the boards, she’d always tease, “Katy did it it.”
Although it was never meant as any particular reference, I wasn’t about to take blanket acceptance for whatever. So I always responded with a similar teasing of, “Noooo, Katy didn’t.” We girls would always chuckle and make up a few girl-stuff jokes.
Over time, and long away from the boards and its web over the city, the phrase "Katy did it" has always made me smile. And after all, maybe I did. :innocent:

Well I love surrealism and the beauty and quirkiness which is encapsulated in it. But I've always had this particular image in my head of a very quaint upper middle-class American suburb with everything so "perfect". There are no people, everything is vacant, but there are bicycles on every lawn in alignment with each other. The houses are perfectly aligned and everything looks very similar. So there was this 123 pattern I saw which corresponded with the way the houses were set up. It was strange because the color of the houses were green, like the grass, and the roof was blue. The grass was wood and the sky was made out of tiles. Anyway that's where surrealsuburb123 came from. Random and weird but it makes sense to me at least. :pinched:

My username is athenian200, and it has been for quite a while. I chose it for several reasons. One is that I simply have a special appreciation for the ideals, mythology, politics, philosophy, and emergent sciences of ancient Athens, and my favorite goddess is Athena.
Another reason is that I was once part of a philosophical forum where many people were named things like Socrates, Eratosthenes, Nietzsche, Plato, or some other major philosopher. So, I decided that instead of choosing a big name from history, I'd simply paint myself as some random, forgotten Athenian that liked listening to their discourses and throwing their two cents in.
Adding the numbers to the end was also sort of a joke, based on the fact that having random numbers at the end of a highly desired name was popular back then. But it was done with an ironic twist, because just plain "Athenian" wasn't a highly popular name, and I chose an even number with significance to Athenian history, so it wasn't actually random (it came to my mind at the time randomly; I discovered the significance later).
So, it's ironic in comparison to reality, but also represents my ideal of a world in which philosophy and reason are as common an interest as sports or movies.
200 is:
The number of Athenians that died in the the first Persian war (compared with 6,000 Persians). This was thanks to the Phalanx formation their army used.
The number of Athenian ships constructed to defeat the Persians in the second Persian war, and proving the superiority of the Trireme ship design.
The minimum size of a jury for a private suit.
The number of years that the Athenian democracy lasted.
