Hey peeps
on page 391
Lilly says that he allows about 17 minutes of arc past exactitue for separation from the sun or the moon
for examples, lilly states that the moon at 17 deg 40 min cancer is in perfect trine with the sun at 17 deg 24 minutes
has anyone seen this work in your charts?

I've never seen this before, but I couldn't help but notice the curiosity that 17 arcminutes is the maximum orb for a planet to be considered cazimi instead of combust...

Well, it is on page 391 .. it applies to different planets as well not only Sun

Tikana-page 391 of which volume? I just looked up CA 2-cant see a reference to this on page 391...can you copy and paste the quote you're looking at?

Can only be CA2, none of the others have 391 pages.

Ok-found the quote you refer to-I guess hes referring to the chart posted above the text ...I see what you mean but my hunch is doing charts by hand may have made it more difficult to ascertain the exact degree/minutes of moon placement.It looks like a *separating trine* to me though, but I do find those old charts quite hard to read.
