View Full Version : Do you use outer planets as last moon aspects?

Just a general question. Once I started learning classical horary, I started to use only the inner planets as a last aspect before the moon goes void. For example, if the moon trines mars and then conjuncts neptune and then goes void, I would use the time when the moon trines mars as the last aspect and that time as when the moon goes void. Through observation, I would have to say that this method works! Does anyone else use this method????
Also, Lilly did say that the moon void in Cancer and Sag are not 'technically void' since the moon in these signs is still quite happy. So, do you guys use this guideline as well, and how? The moon may be happy, but its still not applying to any other planet.
thanks

Barb,
Off the top, I would agree with you, and so do some horary experts, such as Olivia Barclay. she says to use the classical planets for the last aspect and possibly any subsequent aspects to the outers to "flavor(?)" the answer.
However, most tables (eg, Astrodeinst) include the outers to determine VOC and in the later versions of WinStar, Matrix goes as far as to include minor aspects.
I wouldn't be surprised if they started using the space station soon.
But, as for me, I like to stick to the traditional.

So, as the Moon is the prime mover in a horary chart, its lack of applications, which can occur anywhere within the sign, might show that nothing can happen or that the querent is not able to affect the situation. Lilly says, that the Moon is not so ineffective when void of course and in the signs of Taurus (the Moon's exaltation), Cancer (the Moon's sign of rulership), Sagittarius or Pisces (both signs ruled by the greater benefic, Jupiter). The Moon when void of course is impedited because it cannot carry out its task of transferring planetary virtues. But, as Lilly's examples will show, this does not necessarily preclude judgement. It might show, though, that the querent has less influence unless the other significators are strong and active.
Just wanted to add that Lilly also said that for Taurus, Cancer, Sagittarius, and Pisces.
