Hi,
Which house in a horary chart would refer to 'abduction'. I'm guessing the 8th, but would this be right? What do you think?
Cheers,
Draco

I have the answer to that question, Pete. I just don't remember it! (Neptune Rx in 7th house and SN in Pisces.. Got me lots of concentration problems)
Let me check my sources and I'll get back to you. I know I have the answer somewhere.

Got it!
7th is thieves and theft's, so abduction would be the 7th as it is the theft of a person.

Yup, you're right
The 8th however means the loss of the property (by theif selling or destroying it) or the person (by death or something horrible happening to them).

Yes, 12th house = hidden enemy, 7th house = open enemy

Hi,
So the 12th is the house of the abductor when their identity is unknown, and the 7th when their identity is known or presumed.
That clarifies it for me.
Thanks.

hi....
i'm by no means an expert so i'm just putting my gut feeling and what i would use. i immediately thought the 12th house because if you abduct something it is now hidden and the 12th matches this thought. i didn't think of the if you know the abductor it would be 7th but it seems to make sense. i still think the 12th would be considered in either case. when you have decided what to go with, it would be interesting to know what you have used and why you chose to use that method.
wish i could say with certainty but it's my best thought out guess.

No, no. The open enemy meant by the 7th house is more like when you know what the problem is. Like if something is stolen from you. You know that there's a thief. That thief is represented by the 7th house even if their identity is unknown.
The 12 house signifies hidden enemies, i.e. if you're having problems that you don't know the sources of. Like when eveything around you is going wrong but you cannot understand why. This is a 12th house issue.

So if I want to know if someone is setting me up at work i should work at my 10H ruler ? or 6? What other aspects can i expect?
thanks for the correction draco. and where you were so gentle with my inexperience, i'm going to put my foot out there again with my logic. at least i'll know where i'm going wrong in my thought patterns. :-)
i'd go with the 7th house. why? well you say someone at work so it's not 6th house cause it's not work that is "after" you and it's not the 10th because it's not about a career decision but a specific persons actions that is hostile towards you (it's sort of a one on one attack and not a subject or institution attack on your person). so it will be interesting to see if my logic is anywhere near close to what is really the case.
now there might be some more clues to the story in the 10th and 6th and that i wouldn't even begin to venture a guess on but for the what house is it?
7th house.... final answer!

This is an interesting topic...
Some thoughts: in a horary the perpetrator may be shown in the 7th house - if known, or in few selected cases the 12th house if unknown - however, since the abduction is an event that happens to the person inquired about, the 1st house (or the house that represents the question) will offer information on the abducted person.
An enemy/other person that does something very specific to you would be shown in the turned 7th house from the house representing you. The 12th house rather is reserved for subtle actions that aren't well defined nor well understood, such as magic, curses, spying.
I think a real case would make it easier to understand. Do you have a horary question on this?
In case of "last-seen chart", that is, the chart set for the moment and place the abducted person was last seen by relatoves or friends, the 1st house represents the person, the 7th house represents the person(s) who abducted him/her.
As for horaries related with work colleagues, I think it all depends on your relationship with the other person - if the person is your boss - look for the 10th house, if it's about a person at the same hierachical level - look for the 7th house, if a subordinate - the 6th house.
