I wonder what would fall under Mad scientist.....I think I have seen Teslas chart before...if I remember corectly he does have some squares and most of planets are on the bottom end of the chart.
I'd guess merc. aspects to uranus or pluto could cause some form of genius...all different of course depending upon sign and house positions...where they are in relation to angles....etc. ect.

I have heard that mec. conj venus causes artistic flare as well.....johney depp has this aspect in his 10thH in taurus I believe.....squaring mars and uranus conj. in either the end of the first house or right at the begining of the 2ndH...cant remember for sure and I don't have the data right on hand.....

Saturn conjunct Mercury gives a deepening and focus when it comes to intelectual abilities. But thats not all. This conjunction is also placed in MC, which adds power to these two planets, and also near Zenith, meaning Saturn and Mercury are considerated exalted planets ( Not by dignity, but by interpretation ). But to add even more, these two planets are in Aries, which is a head indicating sign, its very mental. This one is interesting, he has Mercury/Saturn around also, even if its not so focused in a particular degree. If Culpeper didn't say about Algol, I would of surely miss it, cause Algol gives deep passions that can inspire or destroy. It makes people enter in the realm of the unknown, expecialy the most feared domains. Whit Uranus its surely a very original and excentric combination, since Uranus is about dreaming of making the human life a better place trough inovations and inventions. Uranus has the ideea, Algol has the way ( which sometimes is dark and dangerous ). Two risky celestial objects, what did he had to lose? :p
But then again ? Why Tesla is so special. Uranus was in Algol for some time, why aren't all the people born around 1856 a bunch of geniuses ? It's the same as Einstien, it requires a special combination. Ok we got Uranus/Algol on 1st house and Pluto, but it still needs more. Take a closer look at Taurus, we got Uranus/Pluto there, lets search for its dispositor, Venus, is it that special? For me its enough to search in finding the special combination, not to mention Neptune in Pisces and Part of Fortune ( Luck and gifts ) in Aquarius which points again to Uranus ( While Uranus along whit Pluto points to Venus ). Cause of Venus Nikola found in darkness, great light. Trough Uranus/Algol and Pluto ( Risking entering in dark domains in life, where only few enter and succeed ) he found light indicated by Venus/Sirius.
