Hello,
Iīve been reading about midpoints in synastry, specially Sun/Moon midpoints, which seem to be highly sensitive points, but havenīt found much about the meaning of the aspects between these and the personal planets (of the other person).
I just saw it mentioned as very important in relationships, but they donīt go further into that. Doesnīt the ascendent count as well when itīs in conjuntion with someone elseīs Sun/Moon midpoint ?
Does anyone here have more info about this?
Thanks

I hate to refer back to my own chart...but I've been married twice (thanks alot Uranus/Venus)...but umm...both husbands...and my current boyfriend of four years...ALL had personal planets (Venus in every case...I'm sure that's an anamoly) at either a perfect conjunction...or perfect trine to my Sun/Moon midpoint.
The ascendant is important...as is the descending line. You can't break them down...you have to look at the charts as a whole. It's like cooking dinner...a little of this...a little of that...all the "garnishes" and "seasonings" can change the overall outcome and presentation of the meal.
I also like to look at the Vertex and its' aspects in synastry. The most tumultuous relationships have been with men who have had their Venus conjunct my vertex and/or vice versa. Mutual aspects are so freakin' heavy to deal with sometimes. I would recommend that you read up on relationship astrology on Dr. Z's website (Dr. Z is always a fun read and informative)....and at Cafe Astrology. They have a complete list of aspects and they even have a weight system.

Thanks, Ida!
Well, actually i´ve been into Cafe Astrology a lot, it´s one of my favourites.
And yes, I totally agree that we must see the maps as a whole. The point is that when it comes to the midpoints there isn´t much info, even on Cafe Astrology (they don´t mention the asc/desc.) and I was trying to find out more. Anyway, they say that conjuctions and oppositions are amongst the strongest aspects of Sun/Moon midpoints in synastry.
Could you please give me Dr.Z´s link? Can´t find the website...
By the way, I also have an aspect Uranus/venus, a trine (one divorce...).

Very important connections in fact Hoppipola. I have found that whenever another persons planet is conjunct Sum/Moon midpoint there is a karmic connection between the two. Only the conjunction mind you, well, a little of that works for the opposition too. Carl Jung even did some research on married partners and longetivity in relationships using this midpoint in synastry work.

I really like your blog, Kingsley!
You have such a different aproach! I learned some new stuff already...
And about the midpoints: doesnīt it work with asc/desc as well? or only with planets?

I am such a Dr. Z zealot. His site: http://thezodiac.com/
I wish he'd write a book or two or three.

Thanks and Yes Hipp, midpoints work with asc, mc and nodes.
Erbertins book seems to remain on my desk no matter what and has done so for about ten years. Its the only way to master the midpoint understandings within ones own approach to astrology. I am a bit of creative skeptic in that a system must prove itself to work otherwise I prove that it doesn't and just dont use it.

Hello Kingsley,
I'm new here and to astrology too. Perhaps you could offer an opinion regarding synastry? Someone I'm very interested in has her moon exactly conjunct my asc/mc midpoint. My sun is exactly opp. her sun/moon midpoint. My nn. is exactly conjunct her sun in my seventh house. My moon conjuncts her sn (by seven degrees - is that still conjunct for an axis?). This seems fairly interesting so is it all karma or destiny or...?

I am not sure whether it is karma or destiny Siera, perhaps that could be one way of looking at the connections you mention. I have similar connections to people however I do not see them in my life now. The connections are opportunities that are potentially available for you both. Admittedly they are strong connections indeed. The opposite to moon/sun midpoint especialy.
Its not that you are fated in any way, however knowing the person you mention, will feel right, or there will be a connection in some aspect of your relationship that seems wonderful. That might be sex, financial, patying, talking etc. If you get involved in some friendship or other, at least there will be something 'magical', unfathomable about being together with each other.

Hello Kingsley,
Thank you for the reply! Yes, magical is right as well as amazing... We also have a grand trine between us made from my sun in pisces to her sun in cancer and her moon in scorpio and both our venuses end up in eachothers seventh house! fun stuff
