I don't remember why or how I came to this page, but I wanted to share this his excellent article about declinations with anyone who is interested in studying them further.

Just a warning--it's pretty complicated stuff. My head's still spinning, but this could also be from a lack of sleep! :p

You are difinately on to something VERY IMPORTANT. It is logical that
if you look at the Solar System from afar; how could two planets one
north declination and the other south declination have much effect on
each other. (speaking of aspects) However, if they are parallel, it is the
answer that has been overlooked by most every body. I have been
observing -- I think the closer they are parallel the better.

I am reading a translation from PTOLEMY'S TETRABIBLOS. 83 TO 161 a.d.
This will shine some light on what you are thinking.

Thank you Arian and a Happy New Year to you and your stellium hehe

Will read this article when my kids are asleep :P but sounds like a similar thing to Magi. Declinations are, in my humble and novice opinion more important than aspects. It is interesting to see declinations in the helio chart that simply do not show in the geo chart.

Magi uses 1.2 orb for geo declinations and 0.3 for helio declinations. Pretty tight orbs ;)

I think declinations are important but I can't see the rationale for longitudinal equivalents. Declinations tell you the latitude of the planet, but turning that into a longitudinal equivalent just gives this point a random point on the zodiac.

Fair enough its not a totally random point, its the point the sun would be at if the sun was in the same declination as the planet. But isn't that pretty irrelevant?

It seems to me that the Longitudinal equivalent theory is saying: 'Your Venus is 16 Degrees South in declination. When the sun is 16 Degrees South in Declination, it is always in Scorpio or Aquarius. So lets pretend your Venus is like the sun and is in Scorpio or Aquarius too.

Isn't it just better to use parallels and contra parallels?

Yes, l think it's better to stick to Parallels and contra-parallels too :)

I think declinations in the Helio chart are just as important too.

First, why are aspects important. IMO they reflect energy from each other
Just seems that you won't get much reflection if one is above the
equator and the other south. Just my opinion.
