What is the relationship that allows two planets adjacent to eachother to be conjunct? I believed a conjunction was when two planets were in the same sign in close orbit. Is the 'adjacent planet conjunction' somehow related to cusps? My conjunction is Scorpio Moon at 27 degrees conjunct Saggitarius Mars at 4. I wonder if this is just the astrologer's licence in delieanting a chart, because it is rather wide orb at 7 degrees. If anyone has any ideas, much appreciated.

I would think this is a conjunction, a bit wide and out of sign so some might not be too happy to consider it one.

What houses do moon and Mars occupy in your chart?

Seven degrees is rather wide, but many astrologers consider wider orbs in conjunctions, and many use larger orbs for the "luminaries" (Sun and Moon).

The fact that two planets are in different signs may or may not make a big difference, according to the philosophy of the individual astrologer.

I personally would consider Moon at 29 Scorpio to be conjunct Mars at 1 degree Sagittarius.

However, I would also consider the fact that the planets are in different signs. For me that subtracts form the intensity of the aspect and adds "color" (subtle shadings of meaning).

A better example might be a square between Sun and Moon.

Suppose, for example, that you know someone with Aries Sun at 1 degree trine to Cancer Moon at 29 degrees. Now you would have an extremely interesting trine. Although we normally think of Aries and Cancer as "square by sign", in this case the aspect might be considered fortunate though unusual, because both the Sun and Moon would be in signs considered very strong(dignified).

At the the same time, any planet at 29 degrees is the subject of yet another complicated subject. Is it often called weak because if is "void of course".

There is a good chance that your Moon in Scorpio is void of course, as I understand the term. Please don't assume anything negative though.

It is potentially very harmful to take answers seriously about one single aspect, since sometimes you will get answers about only that aspect, and the chart must be considered carefully, as a whole. :)
